From the moment we met Ian, we were impressed with his knowledge, his attention to detail, and the fact that he didn't try to "sell" us a pool. He listened to what we wanted, answered our questions, and assured us they could handle our project. After meeting with several references, our decision was made to go with Barefoot based on the quality of the pools, landscapes, and designs we saw and most importantly, the overwhelmingly positive comments made on behalf of Barefoot by their previous clients. Not one negative comment was shared. Then, we had the opportunity to meet his wife Tami who handled the design aspect of the project. Tami was a joy to work with and brought our vision to life. Upon completion of the project, the end result was better than we could have expected. The pool is gorgeous, the craftsmanship is outstanding, and the landscaping is exactly what we envisioned. The process from start to finish was enjoyable to watch and it was a pleasure working with and getting to know his crew all of whom were polite, professional, accommodating, and committed. I had the pleasure of meeting Ian Charnley and his crew through an ad placed on Facebook Marketplace for olive trees. I had no idea Ian was also a skilled and creative landscape artist. Ian and crew are the real deal, professional, well-equipped with heavy machinery including a bobcat dozer that turned our yard into a mediterranean garden almost overnight. Ian knows the North County and what trees and plants will thrive in our climate. He also knows the species names of plants and ground cover that are drought and deer resistant. Our infinity pool was just completed and it is gorgeous! From design to finished product, Tami, Ian, Michael and all the staff at Barefoot pools were great! We recently had our pool and backyard completed by Barefoot Pools and Custom Landscapes and could not be happier with the finished product!! We met with many different pool companies and knew we had found the right one when we met with Ian. He listened to our needs and understand the look we were trying achieve. Ian and Tami installed an outstanding pool and spa in our backyard. They were competitively priced but not the cheapest. Ian, Tami, John, Jose, Bill, Scott and other artists did a great job. I could not ask for a better pool and spa. They also installed a patio and covered the sides of the spa in artificial stone. Danny and Frank did the stonework. There was also a terrace since the pool and spa were at the top of a hill. The terrace was faced with limestone rock. They used top of the line Jandy equipment. I would highly recommend them.
