The Rancho store is the best in the chain! I had called 2 other Barebones stores to locate a certain model of hard hat. They were brief, didn't seem interested in checking their stock and blew me off pretty much. Then I called the Rancho store and talked to Shawna. She was amazing! She thoroughly looked through their stock and found one at a different store. She told me that she could have it delivered to her store that afternoon for pick up. She was on it! Later I walked into the store and Shawna had the hat waiting for me as well as educated me about it and helped me buy a gift certificate as well. You see, this hat was a very important gift for a young man who had graduated from his construction schooling and was with the organization Academy Stay. They help and house former foster kids who age out of the system. So this hard hat meant an awful lot to this kid. Shawna is an outstanding employee, and really made this kid's Day! I came in to purchase some work boots with a budget of $100-$130, and one of the newer employees Shawna was super nice and helpful. I was having trouble finding a boot that would fit my needs that was within budget and still available in my size, and she suggested a pair of red wing Irish setters. They were still out of my price range, but there was a sale occurring in a few days that would drop the price of the boots to under $100 and she kindly offered to set them aside for me so I could purchase them then. Lousy imaging great products. They target the hardhat trumpers but as a tree-hugger i found good selection of shoes for himung and boots for backpacking and bright yellow and orange shirts for cycling safety. Flannel and cotton long sleeve shirts well-suited for fall recreation and dress casual. Their sizing is for bigger for construction guys. They need to install annexes for scrawny hipsters who want the same products for weekend activities. read more

Arrived at 5:04pm. Two men were working in the store but the door was locked. My plan was to buy a $200 gift certificate as a Christmas gift. One of the guys walked toward the door held up his hand and mouthed 5pm, we're closed. I have worked retail and good customer service is helping out the customer, ESPECIALLY during the holiday season as shopping is stressful. I will still buy the certificate but the Rancho Cordova store will never get my business. Tried taking a pair of my husbands pants back that he didnt try on but bought 2 pair in the same size. One pair ended up being too small for him. He had already pulled the tags off (probably thinking they would fit since the other pair did) and Dorothy at the Rocklin location (where we reside) refused to accept our original receipt. I bought some Red Wing Irish Setter boots from Barebones on Sunrise Blvd in Rancho Cordova. The shoes felt good while I was in the store but when I wore them to work they killed my feet. So during my lunch break I went and bought some more comfortable boots from a different store. So later during that same week I returned to the barebones store to exchange the boots that were in perfect condition and was told "since I took the tag off of the boot and there was a minimum amount of dirt on the bottom of the boot that I wasn't able to exchange at all. I asked, well why wasn't I informed of that policy before? I was told that "we would have to tell everyone if we started doing that". Uhh yeah I feel that's the whole point. I just wanted to come on here to let everyone know that if you buy shoes/boots from there and take the tag off they will not honor the 30 day return policy that's on their receipts even if you return the shoe one day later. How can you really know if you will be comfortable In a shoe/boot unless you wear it for a good amount of time and walk around in them. Not the few minutes you have them on in the barebones store. That's my first and last time ever in any of the barebones stores. read more

Been here multiple times in the past and was not satisfied with the service. But about 6 months ago I bought a pair of boots that there store only had in stock. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the the employees i was not happy with in a past was no longer there. Summer help me out and was happy and very friendly and told me she would do anything to win me back as a customer. She found me a lower price and was just awesome to deal with. This place is awesome. The best part about this place is the service he receive when you come here. You're always greeted and they explain things to you thoroughly and show you every option so you have the ability to make the correct choice. I have made multiple purchases from this location, and I have gotten what I wanted every time. They have a phenomenal choice of Carhart products as well as A few other less expensive options. The prices are a little bit on the more expensive side but the quality of stuff here is better than most places. I highly recommend getting boots and work where here not just the quality of the customer service makes me a returning customer. For the size of this place that sure parks in a lot options. Let me begin by saying that I am frustrated after a long day at work and my feet are killing me. About a week ago I purchased a new pair of Keen shoes, specifically for my warehouse job where I am on the floor all day. Bare Bones did not have what I originally wanted in stock so I ended up with the Keen brand. I own a pair of Keen hiking boots and they are fine so I expected the same level of comfort out of these work shoes. After a week the shoes are not breaking in and are painful after about an hour of wear. So, I went back into the store to see if I could exchange them or get a refund. The sales person looked up my order and told me that Keen has a no return policy for comfort issues. My only option was to spend more money on a pair of inserts. My expectation at shopping at Bare Bones is that they would have better customer service and policies than this but the sales person was not flexible. I believe that you get what you pay for and that is why I am willing to spend more for quality products but if the store does not have a policy to work with me on a situation like this then I am done with Bare Bones. I can find the same products online with companies that do have an exchange policy. read more
