Full disclosure: I actually hate getting my nails done. Having to sit still while a stranger touches my hands or feet drives me crazy. It'll take me a lot to pull me away from Jin Soon, but I'm happy to have a serviceable nail salon in my neighborhood. I needed a pedicure and couldn't get an appointment at Jin Soon. Decided to try this place and found it to be serviceable and conveniently located. The space is bright, clean, and airy with plenty of room. Best of all it's quiet and relaxing. The pedicurist really took her time to make sure everything was right. I also appreciated her helpful tips on nail care, which she gave in a friendly, nonjudgmental way. The one note is to make sure to check the prices out front before you sit down. The service menu by the chair only listed the premium pedicures. I accidentally ended up paying more not knowing there was a basic pedi. My fault for not looking out, but something to be mindful of. read more

This place is convenient as it is right in Battery Park City, but I left feeling really strange as they tried to up-charge me for things I did not ask for. I got a spa pedicure and then the owner tried to charge me an extra $20 for "dazzle dry" which I did not get. I explained that I got regular polish and she tried to insist that I didn't, until she checked with the woman who actually did my pedicure and told her I didn't. While I was there I also saw her pressuring other customers to get gel manicures rather than regular and add on more expensive things to what they were asking for. Overall felt like they were ripping me off. I will not be returning- I would rather go somewhere a bit further away for a better experience. read more

This place is a money grab! They charge $10 extra for Dazzle Dry, so I have been bringing my own Dazzle Dry polish since January 2025 - and I get my nails done every two weeks. I've been very satisfied with the results, and the system of bringing my own polish has been great and economical, though I still walk out paying $80 for a regular mani and pedi. Today they decided to charge me $5 to use my own polish. And the owner, Helen, insisted bc it's "a different process" - even though it still consists of a base coat, lacquer, and top coat, the same as a regular manicure. There is no difference! This was a poor excuse to squeeze more money out of me. Instead of valuing the local customers in this Battery Park neighborhood, this salon chooses to lose customers over $5. I will not be returning solely bc the owner is extremely greedy and does not care about customer loyalty. Also, she's always reprimanding her employees in front of customers, so it wasn't a pleasant and relaxing environment to be in anyways. I'd walk the extra few min outside of Battery Park and find another salon. Convenient location, yes. However... This place is not worth it! read more

Good manicure but very unsanitary. Nail tech coughing so aggressively she had tears running down her face. The manager was watching and did not try to help. I had to request a new nail tech after I couldn't take this poor sick woman's coughing fits any longer. read more

This is my first visit here and I was very impressed! I got tips for the first time and the staff was super helpful in discussing the type that I should try. In addition, I have very sensitive cuticles and typically nail salons can cause them to fray or even bleed. Here my nail beds look great and they were incredibly gentle. This was genuinely the worst nail experience I have ever had. We called in advance to book our appointment and they pretended to never have an appt. The staff was SO unfriendly, cold and unreceptive to any criticism. The lady cut my natural nails so short they started to bleed and she pretended to not understand that the issue was or how it hurt. We sat down at 4pm and only got up at 630. 2 and a half hours later it looks like a toddler painted my nails FOR $160 which cannot be justified in any day. It was good when it first opened. I've had one moderately good pedicure since the first one and then today was not good. The chair massager doesn't work properly and the girl was quick and rough. Totally not worth $48. At all. The chairs look comfortable but there's a metal bar that hits right at the tailbone. The floor is slick concrete and the chairs for drying have rollers on them. I hope they have a good insurance policy. I'm going to venture out to Tribeca for the next one. More options. read more

I came here for the first time to try it out because I live nearby and severely regret it. I got a dip manicure on my natural nails, and they immediately upcharged $10 extra to do dip on "long nails" (they are slightly longer than the tips of my fingers). They nickel and dime you mid way through your manicure to upcharge for things. I had this weird feeling my technician wasn't certified during the entire manicure. I've been getting my nails done for years and she wasn't following the regular steps and drilled my natural nails down for so long, it was really painful. I wish I would've listened to my gut and either asked to see her certification or asked for a new technician because she drilled my natural nails so thin they split in half. Like my nails tore from cuticle to cuticle pretty far up on my nail beds. I don't know how to accurately describe how painful this is for me on an every day basis... my nail bed literally bleeds where they cracked. You don't realize how much you use your hands and nails for until you're in this situation. It's going to take so long to grow out and fully heal and I'm so sad. I really wouldn't recommend coming here, I highly question if all their technicians have the necessary training and certifications. I paid over $100 for my manicure. read more

As far as NYC nails salons go I have never been one to repeat visits, always been disappointed compared to suburban salons in my hometown. Bare Luxury has certainly changed that for me! This was my third visit and each time I leave 100% satisfied and in love with my nails. The salon is gorgeous, huge, and they do amazing quality work. As long as they keep up this quality I will never look at another nail salon! I get gel nails/toes and they last a month+. The massage therapist is excellent as well and I highly recommend enjoying a quick massage with her. It is absolutely on the pricey side but in downtown NYC every salon is (paid $86+ tip for gel removal/mani + 15 min massage) The difference is the quality I get and the comfort I enjoy there. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Completely. I'd rather spend more for a quality manicure and pedicure than get ripped off at a slightly lesser price for an uncomfortable and subpar mani/pedi. Bare Luxury really impressed me when they came into South End -- I've tried the others on the block (including the one that was once where Le Pain is now), and those were overpriced for what you get. Also, I've seen other reviews where they felt the prices weren't transparent, but that hasn't been my experience. I don't think they're hiding that info -- when you get a spa pedicure, they hand you a menu that is clearly marked with pricing. I've found this place to be very clean, professional, they do a great job, and it's very relaxing (they're good with the massage part!). Would def recommend! read more

I have been going to bare luxury for about a year now, they really do make it feel like a luxury experience. Sam has been doing my nails for about a year and I don't ever want to go to anyone else! They last me and always look amazing. She is a true talent and her and the entire staff are the sweetest staff you'll meet. Went once when they first opened, happy that a second salon had opened on our street, finally. Was hoping there'd be competition between the two salons and thus competitive prices. But no such luck. I got a regular, no-frills, classic mani/pedi *without color* and paid $76 plus tip. That's insane. Never went back and don't plan to until they get a grip on reality. read more

I've been going to their other location, 64 Nails, on 64th near CPW for years. The manicurists really take their time and make sure mani/pedis are perfect. The salon is clean and they have a wide assortment of clean brands for regular and gel manicures. I can't recommend more highly and the one at BPC is just as great! read more

Based on the other Yelp reviews of this new spa, I tried it yesterday and loved it! It's the first time I ventured into a NYC spa since the pandemic began. Leticia gave me a beautiful pedicure, very carefully done along with a great foot/leg massage. Then I had strong and excellent back rub with Jane, and felt so much better after it. The space is large and so it's easy to distance from other customers. The staff are all helpful and friendly, and they play subtle light jazz music, so much better than the new age muzak spas often play. I recommend this new place to anybody who wants a treat. read more

I've lived in LA and DC, I'm used to paying higher end prices but not like this especially for no design, no frills - very basic work. Prices are definitely worth the quality of work done... my beautiful gel mani has stayed shiny and chip-free even though I am rough on my hands/wash frequently. Was in town & needed a pedi, they were able to assist me last minute, the spa was very clean, spacious and played Jazz, the pedicure is one of the best Ive ever had, she took her time, cleaned up my cuticles and really paid attention to detail, a week later and my toes looks clean & amazing! Great new local spot for nails. I think they are worth the price given their service and time they take. Plus it's super clean and staff are great! I came back with a chipped gel nail two days later and they redid that nail plus rebuffed all the others. Pricey, but worth every penny. The spa is new, aesthetically pleasing (really love the decor) and immaculate. The business owner (Helen) sets the standard and makes sure it's met. Helen, please keep it up! This is not a quick cut, file, slap on some lotion, lackluster massage kind of place. The technicians take their time, pay attention to detail and really focus on delivering a five star experience. Plan the appropriate amount of time for your visit (and as a courtesy to others, pleeeeeease stay off your phone). You will be scrubbed, massaged and pampered. Pedicure chairs are comfortable. They have pleasant massage options, a nice whirlpool you can feel, and sanitary basin protection. Your polish will glisten (and last!). Bobby is fabulous for a massage. The place is top notch.
