Came here yesterday to get the latch on my silver chain fixed. I've had to get this same thing…read morerepaired two other times at two different jewelry shops, and both of those places charged me money and made me wait at least 3-4 days to get the chain back. Not Kathe's Jewelry. I walk in there, expecting to just drop the chain off and pay some money for the repair job, but the guy working behind the counter (who I think also co-owns the place???) took my chain to the back for literally 30 seconds and then came back with it good as new and told me it was free of charge. He even gave me an old-fashioned handshake at the end like we were longtime friends. Made me feel like a special man walking out of that place. At any rate, if you live in the East Village or anywhere near it, don't go to any other store for your jewelry repair. The guys that own and operate Kathe's are so friendly and down-to-earth, and it looked to me like they were selling some nice pieces, too. 10/10.

This is such a precious piece and they made it look brand new and I can't even figure out how they resized it- there's no trace at all. It's absolutely perfect. Ronnie is so helpful and so trustworthy that since then I've been back to have my grandmother's earrings converted from clip on's to post and he's going to tighten up the loose stone in my engagment ring too. I'm so grateful to have this family owned spot in my neighborhood so I don't have to treck to the city. They are truly the best and have such great jewelry there as well- will definitely be back for holiday season shopping.
