We have been having Barclays repair our appliances whenever we have had issues for almost 40 years. Two generations of help for us. They have always been fantastic and quick with a very fair price. I don't see any reason for us to call anyone else. Six stars on a five star rating in my opinion!! read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience earned one. James came out to diagnose our refrigerator's ice maker and was very confident he knew the problem. We approved the repair he recommended and paid for the replacement part and labor. Four days later, the ice maker still wasn't working. When I called expecting additional troubleshooting or a plan to determine the actual problem, the conversation quickly shifted to offering a partial refund on the part and suggesting we find someone else. That was surprising considering how certain he had been during the original diagnosis. What stood out throughout the experience was a level of condescension that made communication difficult. My wife witnessed him speaking to one of his own employees in a way that was genuinely uncomfortable to watch, and unfortunately that same attitude carried over into our interactions. Nobody expects a technician to be right 100% of the time. What customers do expect is professionalism, accountability, and a willingness to stand behind the diagnosis when the first repair doesn't solve the problem. My recommendation: if you hire this company, do not consider the job complete until the appliance is actually working. Replacing a part and fixing a problem are not always the same thing. read more

Do NOT use Jamieson with Barclays Appliance Service. https://www.barclaysapplianceservice.com/ He has been to my home 4 times to fix the same issue with my freezer and the issue is never resolved. Today one of his employees was back at my home for the freezer issue since I was told to call if the issue wasn't resolved and it was under warranty. I had them also fix a front loading dryer that the rollers had gone bad. Kian said it was working great when he was done and purring like a cat. Now it does not even turn on. When I spoke to Jamieson, owner, asking if they could come back the following day he laughed at me. He then tried to blame it on another part that was bad that Kian never even mentioned to me. He got very defensive and was blatantly rude. Save your money and go with anyone else. Oh, and he charged me every time to fix the "warranty job" he did on my fridge. Very unprofessional! read more

I can't say enough great things! Kian and the entire Barclay's team was prompt, clean professional and knowledgeable. Kian identified, fixed and tested his work very quickly and got my appliances working again. I would recommend anyone who is need of anything g appliance related to give these guys a call. I have already shared my experience with neighbors and will highly recommend them to anybody looking for prompt, quality work at great value. Thank you again Barclay's! read more

Our LG Dryer was making an awful noise and the rollers were clearly the problem. Our clothes have hair from our dogs and we wash towels from a hair salon, so it had seized up the rollers. One of the other appliance repair companies had me go through two automated prompts and then to an AI system. That was a non starter, so I found Barclays. They came out when scheduled on the weekend and quickly took it apart and repaired it on site at the quoted estimated cost. Great service and I'll definitely call them for any future needs. read more

Excellent service. Efficient and a great price. Couldn't be better. Same day service. Friendly and knowledgeable.

Outstanding service! Jamis was incredibly helpful when our older refrigerator stopped working. He was sincere, honest and very caring. He helped us with the purchase of a new refrigerator and gave us helpful hints about the best ones to get that had the least repairs. Bravo Jamis! Highly recommend him! read more

We absolutely could not have been more impressed with Kian. He was respectful of us and our property, focused on a skillful repair, and responded to our every question with knowledge and confidence. Great job! Highly recommend. read more

Jamis quickly found the source of the problem with our washing machine. He was thorough, answered my questions, and changed a fair price. I highly recommend Jamis for his outstanding service. read more

A big shout out to Jamis Barclay and Barclay's Appliance Service ... we found water pooled at the front of our refrigerator and were told it was probably a blocked defrost drain ... Jamis came out and corrected the problem in one visit ... he also looked at the ice dispenser which wasn't closing properly and found a replacement part - probably rare as the fridge is about twenty-five years old ... it had been causing problems not only with ice dispensing but also with the water function ... and now everything works great ... I give a high recommendation ... phone number is 530.873.3205 if you run into appliance problems ... read more

Barclay's Appliance Service - Appliances & Repair Near Me

We have used Barclay's for years now at our home and at the rentals in town. They are great to work with and I highly recommend them. They always charge a fair price and are easy to schedule with and do a good job. read more

My dryer failed over the weekend and I called Barclays at 9:05 on Monday. I spoke with the owner who said he and his son could be at my house between 11-1 that day. They showed at 11:05 and fixed my dryer in about 30 minutes which included vacuuming the entire interior of the appliance. He charged me $130 which was a bargain in my book. They are now my go to appliance repair place. read more

I called for a last minute repair request on my oven (which most companies will not service). They scheduled me on short notice in a cancellation spot and had the proper replacement parts on hand. Price was reasonable and the technician was very knowledgeable and courteous. read more

Came right out the same day. Was very professional. Looked at my LG refrigerator. Diagnosed it. Needed a new compressor. He said that compressors aren't really replaced and the actual fix is to purchase a new refrigerator. So, if I'm being honest I should withhold 0.5 to 1 stars for not being able to fix it, but I don't know if there is ANYONE out there who would actually do the service. This was the 6th service we called. Everyone else just didn't do LG, didn't return calls, or said they would get back to me and never did. So, 5 stars to the guy who showed up. read more

I called and spoke with the owner, Jamis, expecting to make a refrigerator repair appointment. He asked a couple of questions and determined that the repair of my older apartment size fridge would likely cost nearly as much as replacing it, IF he was right about his guess. It could wind up being much more if his guess turned out wrong once he got to see it. He was more than willing to come out and look at it. I determined that paying a house call fee & fixing a fridge I could replace new for $400 probably wasn't the best move so I just replaced it. I would definitely call Jamis for any other appliance issues. He's honest and has integrity. I liked that. read more

Simply outstanding. Pros: - Extremely fast service - Knowledgeable - On time - Friendly and caring Cons: - None Our washing machine stopped working for the second time in 2021. The first time (in February) it took a total of 3 weeks to get it fixed using Hudson's. This time we went with Sears and after waiting 3 weeks for our appointment date they cancelled the morning of (seriously?!) and rescheduled for another 2 weeks later (5 weeks just to get a diagnosis.) Out of frustration and based on a recommendation we called Barclay's. WOW! Jamis Barclay (the owner) scheduled us in an open spot for almost immediately, and a week later our washing machine was fixed! Each visit he arrived at exactly the earliest time quoted and got right to work. Jamis explained everything he was doing, why he was doing it, and what was needed. It was like having a friend or family member do the repair. We will only be using Barclay's Appliance Service from this point on. read more

Friendly and efficient. Easy to work with. Had an ice maker quit working, (apparently Samsung is famous for this) two trips as I wanted to see if the cleaning out of my ice maker and cleaning out vents, would get ice maker working. It did not, and when I called back, they were able to come the same day and replace my ice maker. Both Jamis and his son Kian were great. I highly recommend! Now just waiting for some ice. read more

My freezer was not working well and so I called Barclay's. Jamis was out here the NEXT day! After Jamis checked out a number of issues he told us it would not be worth fixing the fridge and that we would be better off buying a new one. I was thankful he came out so quickly, as I was able to get right on-it to purchase a new refrigerator. read more

He is courteous and responsive. We have had him out for the refrigerator withe the repairs completed in a timely manner. We also had a microwave with personality issues that couldn't be diagnosed. He was honest about that fact and advised that a new microwave would be the way to go, rather than string us along with repeated service calls. Integrity. read more

Jamis was quick to respond to my call and arrived exactly when he said he would. He was kind, professional and well priced. Like a favorite mechanic, I appreciated his honesty in diagnosing the problem, and giving me options rather than persuade me one costly direction. Thanks Jamis! read more

I recently had my refrigerator repaired by Barclay's Appliance and was very pleased with them. Jamis was very nice, professional and arrived exactly when he said he would be there. There were no surprises in the quote when the job was done. I will DEFINITELY use Barclay's again and refer others to use Barclay's. Thanks again Jamis! read more

Thank you Barclay's! Timely, professional and kind service is what to expect from this amazing business. The technician came down to Chico to check on an oven malfunction. Because it is older, they were unable to find the parts to fix the equipment. Although it was no fault of theirs, they refused to charge us anything for the service call. While I do not hope for any other appliance to break down any time soon, they certainly will be the first place I will call for repairs. I therefore HIGHLY recommend this business to anyone in the Chico/Paradise area. read more

Barclay's appliance came out and replaced two burners in our range because we were having trouble with an electrical burning smell. 45 days later, one of the burners they replaced emitted a burning smell and quit working. I called Barlays and they say that I would have to pay another $90 for a half hour service call, plus parts, and plus additional fees if it goes beyond a half hour. Barcleys does not stand behind their work and their attitude is that they are so slammed with business that it doesn't matter. read more

Was not upfront about service charge. Charged me $95 to tell me my fridge was pile of junk. Whatever diagnostics that were performed did not warrant $95. What a joke. read more

Well the got it right. They said it has to be the motor, so I told them order it, once it arrived they showed up the following day. And in a matter of 20 minutes he had it repaired and running like the day we purchased it! This is a great family owned company operated by the family, the father, son and wife are the employees so they make sure we (the consumer) get the best service possible. Like I said in my first post Jamis did far more that one expected, by cleaning every Creve crevese and inspecting the wires and belts. I'm so happy with them that I have taped thier business card to my dryer to be sure to call them for any of my appliance needs! Thank you again Barclay's read more

We chose Barclays based on the other reviews and were happy we did. They fixed our freezer and oven, with parts ordered quickly as well. When something else went wrong with the oven shortly after (unrelated), the owner made it right and was really nice about the whole thing. Because of that person alone we will call them for all of our appliance needs in the future. read more
