I'm a hotel snob, but I try to be objective so here's some pros and cons: Pros: the 360 rooftop bar is incredible. Absolutely stunning views, a nice little soaking pool, and great bar service. I spent most of my time on the 11th floor. Definitely a wonderful spot. Cons: it's a weird hotel. They were definitely going for quirky/chiche but then lost a lot of functionality and comfort in the process. The lighting is ridiculous- dark tunnels of hallways with LEDs set into the walls. If you have to use the common bathroom prepare to be plunged into darkness for your toilet adventures. The lighting in the actual rooms is also strange; you have to put your key card into the wall to get any of them to work (and then most of them don't work anyways). The hotel's location is a bit seedy. The square right outside is a known area of theft and pickpocketing so be aware if you are a tourist. The apartment complex on the other side is loud until all hours of the night and the windows provide little noise insulation. Definitely not a safe area to walk at night. The rooms were averagely clean, although there were some obvious moldy patches in the grout of the shower. And finally, we had no housekeeping service during our 3 day stay. We would be out most of the day with the "please clean" sign on our door only to return to the room exactly as we had left it. As a disclaimer, I did not choose this hotel as it was booked for us by a travel agent. I would not stay here of my own will and would not recommend anyone else to.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days and before booking we read a lot of reviews beforehand on how well situated it was here, how nice the view were at the rooftop and how modern the rooms looked. Now it's my turn to be able to write my review on our experience. Check in is at 2pm and checkout is at 12noon. (Love that the checkout is at 12 especially if we needed to get to the airport a little later). When we checked in, they had welcome drinks ready for us! They're not too strict about time of check in, we were about 1.5 delayed and they didn't mention anything to us. All the reviews about the location being centrally located was spot on! Took the Aerobus from the airport which stops at Placa Catalunya which is a 15 min walk to this hotel or you can take the Metro just 1 stop which is a 6-7 min walk! We wanted to be very close to a Metro so that it would be an easy commute to other places and we did, almost everyday! The M3 Liceu was the closest metro! 6-7 mins walk was La Boquera Market, La Ramblas and maybe 10 mins from Gothic Center and 12-15 to El born! The hotel is right across El Gato! The only downside to this location was all the migrants that were around here and toward the back of the hotel which didn't seem too safe of an area if walking alone at night. Atleast this was my observation, although nothing happened! There were supermarkets and lots of stores nearby which was great and bakeries for breakfast which was a plus! The lobby inside was chic and gave me NYC Standard hotel vibes, they even had a black horse! At the standard they had a white one at their rooftop bar! The hotel had every single window railing block which was a killer for taking pictures from your window. I understand taking safety precautions though, but don't expect to be able to take pics from your window or have a balcony! Another downside was the breakfast at this hotel! It was €18 PP and we did not opt for the breakfast to be included (with all the bakeries with fresh goodies and cafe we didn't think we needed to) and after tasting their breakfast one morning we were happy we didn't opt for this add on! They had a huge spread! Buffet style but it wasn't any good! Getting coffee at the machine wasn't easy at all and scrambled eggs tasted like carton ones which is surprising in Europe! The only good thing was the fruit!! My recommendation is not to get the breakfast here and go to 365 bakery right around the corner! The front desk staff was always pleasant and very helpful!! We had a king size bed on the 7th floor and thought the room was just right for us. It was just right for us two! No complaints there, they had a safe easy to use and the shower head was nice and big! They provided 2 bottles of water just the first day, normally hotels would give 2 bottles daily but this one did not. However they gave us a little bottle of red, on them! The famous 360 rooftop terrace view was a great way to end each night we had which is exactly what we did! After every night we just had a nightcap and it was pretty spectacular and calming! And my husband wakes up earlier than me so he was able to see amazing views of the sunrise at 7 too, one of the best views he's ever had of the sunrise he raves about! The rooftop is on the 10th floor, drinks were overpriced but you are paying for more than the drinks here! Two aperol spritz which was our drink of choice was €25, so def overpriced! On our last day, our flight wasn't until the evening so we weren't rushing to check out. Luckily check out was already at noon and every 2 hours after was €11 so we did a late checkout at 2pm and when we checked out, we asked the lobby to hold on to our luggage so we can enjoy the neighborhood and rooftop one last day before leaving and they did, gladly at no charge or timeframe! We had a great stay overall! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the breakfast they offer! Thanks Barcelo Raval for the hospitality!

Great views. Great drinks. Memorable last night in Barcelona. 360 views and chill music made for a special evening.

The 360 bar is a must see if in the area. A gorgeous fall day accompanied delicious cocktails and a beautiful view of Barcelona from the 11th floor. Service was excellent! This was a nice deviation from the running around that tourists often do when visiting and I found the time here watching seagulls to be much needed.

This review is specific to the rooftop. I was looking for a nice rooftop since it was a warm day after touring La Basilica. I came across 360 Rooftop on yelp while walking on Las Ramblas. Upon walking in the hotel looked very modern and chic. There's an elevator that takes you up to the rooftop, although it is rather tiny and cramped. The views were breathtaking and we were able to see the sunset. It wraps around the entire perimeter and has a small pool. There's also a mini area with fake grass and bean bags. I started with a rose but then made the change to the Aperol Spritz as it seemed like a pretty popular drink. It tasted pretty good and was not too bitter. I got a good buzz off of 2 of them. I'm not sure if they serve any food as I didn't see a menu so I wouldn't suggest coming here hungry. Highly recommended especially in the summer. I will definitely return on my next visit to BCN.

We stopped here on our drunken trip through el Ravel. This was our second stop after Bar Marsella. We ended up closing this place. We were here in late March. Cold and not a lot of people here. Great funky hotel lobby. Elevator to the top. Seem like it's a happening place in summer. Had a couple of cocktails - staff was nice enough and attentive. Drinks a little over prices but great view - good times!

The prettiest sunset view in the city (that's easily accessible)! We ordered a mojito, sangria, and a gin & tonic. Gin & tonic was the way to go, for sure! Please order one... trust me. Sangria was great too. It gets a bit crowded, so I'd recommend going a bit before sunset to get a good seat by the glass. Highly recommend this awesome spot!

As far as hotels go, Barcelo Raval has a lot going for it. It's a boutique hotel enclosed in iron mesh with a funky yet trendy vibe and great service. The rooms are small (we stayed in a superior room) but sleek with white+lime green accents and luxurious amenities. Don't be a dork like me and try to open the curtains by force to see out the windows ("What is WRONG with these curtains? Why won't they OPEN!!!! OMG it's so claustrophobic in here!!!"). The curtains are on an automatic track and can be opened by using the buttons next to your bed. The lobby has a combined Gothic Retro look if that's even a thing but it's a great place to people watch and enjoy tapas with strong cocktails and listen to deejays spinning at night. On the rooftop there's a pool and the most amazing 360° views of the city. It's worth it to visit the rooftop just to catch that view. There's tons of seating and cocktail tables that are ideal for sitting and relaxing-I would imagine it would be particularly nice during the summer. The hotel is in the Raval neighborhood which is ideal since it's not too touristy but close enough that you can walk to lots of restaurants and areas of interest. Barri Gòtic, Plaza de Catalunya, Mercat de La Boqueria, Ramblas, and the modern art museums MACBA and CCCB are all within walking distance. So is Quimet & Quimet, the one restaurant that cannot be missed while you are in Barcelona. WiFi is free which is pretty much a deal closer for me but trust me, this place has it going on.

    Sunset from their rooftop lounge.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in October. The hotel was clean with a fun and funky vibe that we really enjoyed. We absolutely loved the rooftop lounge, that alone made the stay worth it. The service was good. We got in reeeally late (about 1:30am) and it was nice to have a friendly, quick, and smooth check in process. The location was decent. There are some restaurants and shopping near by that are walking distance but to get to any real land marks you'll have to cab it or take a train. The neighborhood seemed a bit sketchy at times but overall we felt pretty safe. My only complaint is that the bathroom door didnt shut. It stayed cracked about an inch. So I hope you're real cozy with whoever you're rooming with, cause if not, you're about to!

This hotel won't be for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's super clean, cool, and has friendly staff. The shower is big and warm, the beds are very comfy, and it's amazingly quiet considering all the noise that's happening in the Raval area. It has a beautiful view from the top and a clean swimming pool (which you can't swim in, it's too small). They have a solid fitness center (one of each kind of machine) that stays pretty empty, which I personally liked. They also have a pull-up bar and free weights. Also . . . FREE WI-FI!! I feel like a lot of hotels in Barcelona have yet to add that to their list of freebies. Things that people might not like: You can't open a window - it's air conditioning or nothing. Some people may like the idea of fresh breeze, although Barcelona air is so polluted, they might be doing you a favor. It's not really for kids (in my opinion). They have a bar on top and a shmoozy lounge, so it seems more adult. It's on the Rambla de Raval, right next to a "questionable" area that has a few streetwalkin' ladies. If that doesn't bother you, then you're fine. If it does, then you should probably find a hotel in the Eixample or a nicer neighborhood. I, for one, thought it gave the area flavor. If I ever stay in Barcelona again, I'd strongly consider the Hotel Barcelo!

The rooftop is big with pool, bar and a number of seating areas for a 360 view of the city. Relaxing place to sit with a drink. Spa in basement is nice with all amenities. You have to reserve use and it's capped at 30 mins. Rooms are decent size allowing for suitcases and still moving around room. Bathroom is clean and has everything needed including heated towel rack and bidet. Although robes weren't included we found some at spa we used for the remainder of our trip. Lobby is very spacious and comfy, and there is live music in Thur-Sun. Great place to relax with a drink after exploring all day. Breakfast was extensive and a nice start to each day. Included made to order as well as plenty of ready made options for all palettes. The Not as Good We reserved both a superior and classic room but couldn't tell the difference for an additional 130 euros. The front desk said the superior had "more light." Potentially but not sure that was described as difference for what we paid. The rooms lack power outlets. Nothing by bedside. USB by desk but no USB-C or Int'l plugs. We had phones plugged in behind chairs, tea kettle sitting on floor, laptop in bathroom... The subway is underneath the hotel and even though we're on the 4th floor it was loud with lots of vibration. We had Do Not Disturb on for our entire trip but staff entered regardless and made up room. Not a big deal but surprised us and meant we had to put our belongings away every time we left not knowing who would enter when. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would come back but many hotels we passed by looked like good options as well.

I booked a signature room through my travel agent, and was delighted that they allowed me to check in a couple of hours early AND upgraded me to a signature balcony room. The hotel is very cute snd colorful, with modern design. The room was clean and pretty spacious, and the balcony was such a nice touch! I liked opening the windows every afternoon and sitting on the chaise and reading. There are refillable water stations on each floor by the elevator, which was a small but big perk to me. Awesome water pressure and temperature, kind, attentive service by staff, and incredible rooftop bar made this a fun place to kick off my stay in Spain. Small gripes: As a short person was the bathroom tub was a bit tall for me to climb into and out of. There was not a true fridge/freezer in the room; the staff was kind enough to store something in their freezer for me but it felt too out of my way to ask them to do it too often for me. The lobby bar drinks were fine but nothing to write home about. Overall though this is such a great hotel and I'd absolutely stay here again. It feels luxe but had very reasonable rates, even right after Easter which is peak tourism. The rooftop bar is very much worth a visit, beautiful views of the city and a fun, lively vibe. I cannot recommend this hotel more!

10/31 Le Meridien…read morewas born with the idea of providing Air France staff a place to stay when transiting during the Starwood years. Now, as a Marriott owned brand; Le Meridien continues the French spirit within their walls. Purpose: my first ever Transatlantic cruise in Spain began in Barcelona, and I was able to book a stay with this Le Meridien property in the center of town and 10 minutes to the cruise terminal. Location: Plaza de Espana is roughly 10 minutes by foot, nestled in a baroque building, and foot steps away from major transit lines, shopping, dinning, and entertainment. The cobble stones were very, well cobbly; considering that construction on the curbs lining the walkable streets were on-going. Conveniently 30 minutes away from and to the Barcelona airport by way of shuttle. At First Glance: you will find the main entrance to the hotel after making a turn into an alley way. Bell staff are eager to assist with luggage when making way up the marble steps to enter the hotel. The lobby is flanked with a cafe and seating area to the left. Men's and women's restrooms are in the center of the lobby, while to the right sits the front desk/concierge/bell desk and to the far right are the guest elevators and hotel restaurant. I found that the design of the lobby is reminiscent of; can I say classic French (think - semi translucent glass, red oak, black finishes, and velvet furniture). The Welcome: the registration agents were quite cheerful. It was roughly 11am and I was fully aware and prepared to hear that our room was not ready. The agent assured that I'll get a call as soon as my room is ready. Our luggage was collected, stowed, and distilled waters were provided to us for the long day ahead. We received a call back with the hour, though we did not return until later in the evening. The Room: the same design language seen in the lobby is carried out through into the guest room. A small balcony, while doesn't seem to allow a single person to walk onto, it does open to provide fresh air. My only caveat for the room was that the glass door to the bathroom wouldn't close entirely but that the room was spacious, clean and functional. While our room was assigned to the 2nd floor (3rd floor in actuality) we did not hear too much street noise. Having traveled for 18+ hours and being extremely tired; being able to sleep in a comfortable bed was much needed. The Next Morning: as a Bonvoy Platinum member; I opted in receiving buffet breakfast for 2 in lieu of welcome points. European hotel breakfast hits differently in comparison to those enjoyed in the United States; variety being the biggest draw. I came into the restaurant with my eyes wide open and scouring all of the hot stations. Everything offered was absolutely delicious. There cherry on the top; a mimosa station - a game changer. We bided adieu to our one night stay at this Le Meridien hotel, thankful for a full nights rest and looking forward to a future stay whenever that may be.

Arrival & Parking This hotel is very difficult to reach by car. I wouldn't recommend driving or trying to park nearby. The hotel suggested a parking garage by the Cathedral, which offered a hotel rate of €40. While helpful, it still meant hauling large bags through crowded, sometimes sketchy Gothic Quarter streets--and getting lost along the way. Leaving in the early morning was easier thanks to clear directions and fewer crowds. Location The setting is both a plus and a drawback. You can walk to nearly everything, but evenings bring heavy crowds, street noise, and safety concerns. Even with doors closed, the noise from motorcycles and parties made it hard to sleep. Check-In & Amenities Check-in was slow, partly due to a large birthday group arriving at the same time. The cava offered while waiting was a nice touch. The hotel has typical Kimpton perks, like the evening social hour (wine from 6-7 p.m. in the restaurant), but the space was cramped with little room to sit or mingle. Room We stayed in a corner king with Juliet balconies overlooking two streets. The layout, however, was awkward. The toilet was located in a small closet near the entry, while the sink and shower were across the room--an inconvenient and unappealing setup. Both bathroom areas were very small. That said, the toiletries were excellent, the robes stylish (though unbranded), and the bed comfortable. Based on photos, other rooms appear to have better layouts. Rooftop The rooftop pool area was attractive but limited, with only about eight loungers. After waiting, we found two. The pool was unheated and very cold, though thankfully small enough that no one tried to swim. The views were nice but included some rundown rooftops. We enjoyed smoothies and tapas--especially the patatas bravas, which were fantastic. Unfortunately, the main restaurant had few vegan options, so we dined elsewhere. Breakfast & Service As an IHG Diamond member, I could have selected breakfast, but it didn't start until 7:30 and we had to leave earlier. The staff kindly prepared takeaway bags with pastries, fruit, and a sandwich, which was much appreciated. I later learned the hotel offers yoga and a spa, though none of this was mentioned at check-in--likely because the staff was so busy during our brief stay. My fiancée and I reserved a brunch here on the rooftop at Terraza de Vivi. We got pancakes, eggs…read moreBenedict, fresh fruit, soup, greek yogurt and bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's. The wait staff were super friendly and they were very generous with the bottomless drinks. The food was pretty good but the best part was easily the rooftop view of Barcelona. We especially liked that we could see the Cathedral.
