Fried fish combo
Sisomvang H.

When I saw that there was a soulfood food truck. I was excited. We decided to give this food truck a try due to wanting to try something new and wanting to support local for Yelp's Big Night In. They had a lot of success in Germany so I was elated to try them. Please be mindful that this is my first experience with this food truck so this is my personal experience, it may change. Other experiences could be different. I sent my husband to pick up the food. We each got a combo plate. One was fried chicken and came with two sides. I asked for collard greens and cornbread. They were out of collared greens so I got a potato salad. My husband got a fried fish combo for $14 with cornbread and potato salad. If you notice on my pictures, there are pictures of corn bread with each combo, however, those were the only two that came with each combo plate. Kind of a ripoff if you notice the size difference. My husband's fried fish combo came with only those three pieces of fish, one of those corn bread and potato salad. For $14, it was not worth it. My fried chicken combo was $12 and had a lot of pieces and if they gave me that big piece of cornbread, then, it was worth $12. It needed more salt and cornbread was a little burned. While we do want them to succeed, we were very underwhelmed. Not feeling Barbs.

Loved the peach cobbler. Green beans were very good. Potato salad good too. Chicken was ok, but kind of bland.

I decided to give it a try at Grobak and was so pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Orange Dragon Roll and it was delicious. The fish was fresh and the sauce toppings added so much to the roll. It didn't come with the traditional soy sauce, wasabi, or ginger and I was worried it wouldn't be as good as a result. Wow! Is all I can say. I really enjoyed their sushi, even without the extra sides I am used to. I look forward to getting a chance to eat at this food truck again.

The woman who helped me was nice--just standard service. I ordered my roll and was handed a little pager thing to wait for my order to be ready. Once it was ready, I was handed the roll in a styrofoam box and went to eat it at a table. I got the orange dragon roll, and it was absolutely delicious. The salmon was some of the freshest-tasting (and texture) I've ever had! Not to mention everything else in the roll complimented it perfectly. Definitely check them out.

What a surprise! At River Park on Eats day, my lady and I pass by this nondescript,…read morerun-of-the-mill red food truck. My wife is fiending for something beefy, and sees a steak dish on the menu. I say, "I dunno about steak from a Thai (maybe Lao) food truck." It was called Crying Tiger with Rice, for $17. But hunger won over, and we ordered it. The food came out in good order and promptly. And oh my, this steak was DELICIOUS. Cooked a perfect medium rare, it was tender, juicy, marinated with something that brought out the steak flavor. With the dipping sauce, it was a savory, citrus-y delight with a small spicy kick. Sorry for eating part of it before thinking "I definitely have to rate this place". Lol. I highly recommend giving this place a try. Happy eating!

I need to expand my range of their menu next time, but the crying tiger and dipping sauce is just so dang good. The folks who work this truck are helpful and kind too. One time out at the college, they ran out of, if you can believe it... sticky rice! They did notify us before we ordered, but again, that steak and dipping sauce was just something I couldn't resist. They quickly offered to replace it with eggrolls and we got 4! (There was another time that they did not come out to a scheduled spot due to weather. And I wondered about food trucks not coming out due to rain, is it a functionality thing for the truck or do they think people won't be out and about to purchase? Because let me tell you staff love a chance to order food that isn't the cafe without having to leave campus! Haha)

This is a hidden gem (?) at least to me, in downtown Fresno. I live 30 minutes away but was…read moredowntown for a play at the Saroyan Theater. This food truck is like a kitchen on wheels. I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of yummy coleslaw. The sandwich came with several single serving size containers of bbq sauce. The pulled pork was very tender, moist and smoked deliciously. Soft hoagie roll. The bbq sauce was very flavorful and not spicy which is how I like it. I loved the coleslaw because it wasn't too mayonnaisey, more of a subtle vinegar flavor. My son ordered the brisket with collard greens which he says, you can't truly be a bbq restaurant without collard greens. He loved them and the brisket was tender and lean. His husband ordered a tri tip sandwich with the Mac n cheese along with a made to order Blackberry Lemonade. They both loved their meals. We all agreed we'd return for another meal. Tge desserts looks delicious! Bread pudding, peach cobbler and a couple other choices. Like I said, another day to indulge in dessert. It is outdoor seating only on picnic tables. You could see the owner and his assistant working hard to prepare the meals. They had a steady stream of guests. Good location with parking very close by.

I love brisket, the last 3 times, brisket was dried and probably days old. Brisket in suppose to be tender and juicy. This was not. Tri tip cut the wrong way, not even tender, consistently out of certain side dishes and act like they're sold out. Service is ok, food truck style, they had the indoors open for a little bit, not sure what's happened. The ambiance is downtown food truck style, service is ok, near other bars and restaurants. 11/14 - 2 plates ~$50 12/4 2 plates - ~$75 They lost a customer in me. I can go to mega Texas, westwoods or any other location for better bbq options.

So, we pass by the this truck every Saturday. My daughter was really wanted a fruit smoothie and…read morethis was conveniently on our way to our next stop. They have windows on both sides of the truck but I guess the working windows faces the street. That's where we order and pick up. Totally didn't know that stood there like a dummy u til someone said something. When we went around the truck, it was against a curb and there were small puddles of water. I'm not sure if it's the trash cans that smelled or there was a sewer really nearby. It smelled really nasty. My daughter insisted that she still wanted a mango smoothie and coconut water sounded pretty refreshing. Plus, we were already patiently waiting for a while before someone told us to order on the other cramped side. The lady that took our order wasn't friendly. She just ask what we wanted to order. She looked at me with a confused face when I said coconut water and mango smoothie. Maybe she didn't speak English? She walked away from the window I'm assuming to ask someone in the truck about our order. A man came to the window and ask what we order and we said mango smoothie and coconut water. He translated to her. Our drinks only cost $2.50 each which is sooooo inexpensive. I didn't see the prices listed for the drinks, only for food. The window was a bit high, so I'm glad I am not shorter than 5'3! I was standing on the curb too! After a few minutes, we got our drinks. The mango smoothie was dripping on the side so we had to clean it up. My daughter said it was delicious and she can taste the freshness. (Frozen mangos) my coconut water was in a really big container and it was super refreshing. It was warmer than chilled but colder than room temperature. I had minimum bits of coconut bits in my drink. Overall, the drinks were really good. Service could be way better, the man was nice. I probably wouldn't order from them again if they are in the same location facing the street because of the smell. But if saw them anywhere else at an event, I would for sure order again!

Can't wait to try the mangoneadas! I was surprised at the price, but honestly, it's a lot of fruit, and it was all fresh and great quality. The corn was pretty tasty too. No idea what was in it, my guess would be mayo, butter, maybe some type of creama instead of butter, queso fresco and chile powder. So definitely a lot of dairy! If that is not your thing, grab a roasted corn instead! My 3 star ratings is really for the inconvenient set up. They have the ordering window on the street side (I'm sure to entice others to stop by), but the street side is positioned on this weird planter/curb area, which is muddy and smelly. They have put plastic pallets down in front of the ordering window, but it is still not the safest area. Don't get me wrong the actual location is great central spot, close to Fresno State, but the location on the premise itself could be reworked I'm sure. Don't necessarily know if that will totally stop me from coming back, but just an honest look at the place!
