Great location. This is my first time at a Barberitos. I'm very big on convenient parking and this location has just that. When you walk in, hang to the right and walk up to the counter. Don't make the mistake I made and shuffle through the dining area. The dining area was clean. The servers were super helpful and nice. They have a choice of burrito, tacos, nachos, quesadillas and salad. I chose a half chicken/half spicy chicken burrito on a chipotle tortilla. The server recommended doing the half and half because the spicy chicken is spicy. I actually liked this recommendation. All of the toppings looked fresh. There was cheese, lettuce, pickled and fresh jalapeños, tomato's, sauces, sour cream, salsas, olives, corn, and mushrooms. I loaded up my burrito and took at seat at one of their roomy booths. They give you a huge helping of chips and side salsa. I recommend getting a large tea if you do take out and a regular drink if you dine in. You can get refills at the drink/napkin station. This Barberitos used to be the best in town. I'm not sure what happened. A couple weeks ago, we got some food and the portion size was a little smaller than usual. We didn't say anything and figured maybe someone was training. Then we got home and the salsa tasted off. Again, figured maybe an off day, we have never had any major problems before. Just typical to go issues. After tonight, we will never be back. The restaurant wasn't busy or crowded, we actually were the only people in there. The 3 people working barely spoke to us, and when they did they just kept talking over each other so we had to ignore one of them to speak to the other. We almost didn't receive salsa as the woman asked us about chips while we were telling another person our toppings, and she didn't put salsa in the bag. We realized before we left. By the time we got home (10-15 mins) to eat, we noticed the portion sizes. My burrito bowl was more bowl than anything. There was likely one scoop of rice as it didn't even fill the bottom, and maybe a half scoop of chicken. I'm used to the toppings making me stuff the bowl shut, and having enough to make 2 meals out of it. My toppings barely touched the lid of the container. It was very disappointing as this used to be a favorite restaurant of mine, but over the last few years it has progressively gone down hill. read more

This has been my spot for so long. Whether it's been picking up dinner or ordering catering for 20-30 people, Barberitos on Pisgah has always delivered the goods. Not only has the decor been given a facelift, but the menu and ingredients have too. I'm usually okay with price hikes but when you lower the quality of the ingredients and also raise prices by 30% -- it usually doesn't end well. Between my group we all ordered variations of steak nachos. Had a desire to add sautéed vegetables on my nachos but the grill looked like it had not been cleaned all day. Skip. The staff did not seem happy to serve. Ordered a drink and had to remind them to give me a cup. Paid for our food and it seemed like they were going to just let us walk away without offering a bag. No more salsa bar, that stinks. We were happy with the portion size of the steak, until we got home and started to eat. Most of the steak was chewy with gristle littered throughout (enter lower quality). I would return once more just out of the kindness of my heart and knowing how well the past experiences went. You steam a shell, add the filling wrap it up and bag it. If you're going to use a gloved hand to add toppings and then roll the burrito ( which means touching a protein) you should change gloves between guests. We ordered our food online at 6pm on a Saturday night. My friend arrived at 6:15 for curbside delivery. When he called inside he was told their online ordering system was down and he would have to come in to order. He called me and I called the store at 6:30pm. I was given all kinds of excuses as to why the system was down but not an apology. I spoke to a manager and he told me that my friend (who is elderly) would have to come inside and order. He said "Everybody is in the same boat and he will have to wait just like everybody else." He never offered an apology. My friend waited ONE HOUR in line!!!!! This is absolutely unacceptable! On top of that, when he arrived home we realized they did not give us any salsa for our chips!!!! NO SALSA!!!!! They had also put ranch on my burrito bowl instead of on the side like I had ordered. Good food but pretty bad service with lots of mistakes. DO NOT order delivery or pickup. I went a couple of nights ago and they gave me the wrong pick up order. After realizing at home I went all the way back to get my correct order. They didn't even offer anything extra to make up for the inconvenience. This is probably the worst Barberitos I've ever been too. The staff is useless and rude. I ordered a burrito bowl with avocado(which cost extra most places do charge it's whatever), a chipotle chicken burrito, and two kids meals. My chicken bowl was topped with a brown spotted avocado. I'm not saying avocados don't turn brown because I get that they do but this one tasted rotten. I explained that I would like a fresh one. The servers reply was "they all look like that. It's fine." I ignored it, took my bowl back to my table, and tried to eat it anyways. Maybe I was just being "picky"...I could not stomach it. And neither could my daughter, one year old, who is a huge fan of avocado. I took it bad to the front where the server continued to argue with me that it was fine. He asked what I would like for him to do...I replied that it would be great if he could just make me a new one without avocado. He told me that was fine but are you ready for the kicker? I HAD TO GET BACK IN LINE to get another bowl. So 15m later after my entire family had eaten...I got my new bowl. I would be ashamed to own this facility with the employees in place. I never got a refund for the avocado I paid for and didn't receive. I never got an apology. Customer service goes a long way and his place doesn't have it. The chips are light and crisp and not to salty. The salsa bar had a fire roasted salsa, a regular salsa, and a really really spicy hot sauce that was quite tasty. I decided to get a sample of them all. I found that the regular salsa lacked flavor , but the fire roasted salsa was delicious. OK now to the burrito. You could really taste the flavors of all the ingredients inside. The steak was well seasoned and quite delicious. Everything was really fresh and basically not out of a box. I ordered 2 and did not even finish one. This is just completely out of character for me. Besides the Tilapia just seeming to be of poor quality, whoever created the combo of flavorings to call this a taco should not be allowed to make such important decisions. "Ok, well maybe it's just the fish", so I go back and try a spicy chicken taco. Not so great but at least I could eat it. Beans were undercooked, chicken didn't taste too fresh and the "spice" character of flavor going for here just seemed of the wrong kind, but as with the fish my tortilla was pretty much cold by the time I got it back to my table.
