One of my favorite restaurants, the staff are all very friendly and kind, the food is consistently delicious! I typically get the pollo fundido but really everything here is good.

First time visiting MONTERREY is quite a while. This is one of my favorite restaurants to stop through when I'm back home. The staff are friendly, the food is flavorful and delicious. The restaurant itself is very welcoming, calm and pleasant. It's a very relaxing and peaceful ambiance. I always get the Yolandas with cheese sauce added to my rice. It's delicious. The price is reasonable.

Food was great, flavorful and I can't wait to go back again to try more options. The taco was really good. The quesadilla i would recommend using chicken breast over shredded chicken. Still flavorful and good. The chesse dip was excellent. The horchata was delicious

We stopped at this Mexican restaurant on our way from Charlottesville VA to Asheville NC. They had a huge amount of lunch combo specials. I had the #7 which was a chicken quesadilla, beef enchilada & rice. The quesadilla was sumptuous.... honestly the melty and crispy cheese they managed to achieve was devastatingly delicious. Very quick & efficient service along with warm chips! Highly recommend.

I love Hispanic food. So when I was thrifting near this place, I decided to give it a try. Service was great, and they seem to get busy too! The food wasn't terrible, but it is not authentic Hispanic food. I really loved their fried ice cream. Inside was very colorful looking. And looked very nice, but I've had better. 6/10

So completely unimpressed with this restaurant. I don't know which restaurant is worse, here because of their tasteless food or Blue agave with their rude bar service. There is no bar however they do serve alcohol drinks and they have daily specials. The complimentary chips were stale and the salsa was watery but spicy. That's all. No herb/veggie flavor. Just spicy. My waiter asked for my order, I requested a drink menu, he referred me to the back of the menu. He did not return to my table for over 10 minutes. I ordered the Mexican style street tacos with steak and chorizo combined as well as extra onions and lime. The steak had absolutely no flavor and each taco had a considerable amount of a extra chewy fatty pieces. They served me 1 lime wedge that was half rotted out from the inside. I do not suggest the restaurant to anyone.

I've been coming here for years. It's my favorite Mexican restaurant. The service is always great. The lunch specials are available everyday. Shout out to Julio who takes great care of us. The only complaint I have is the extra charge if you order take out.

Love this place! Great service and great food. We sat down and food arrived within 10 minutes even with a packed house. Server was very attentive and kept our glasses full. I had the Sizzling Fajitas with chicken and my son had the Burrito Mexicano. Both required a take home box due to size. We also ordered the cheese dip which was really good. Highly recommend this location!

I've been coming to Monterrey for years. They've set the standard very high. Whenever I go anywhere else it never compares. The service is always excellent and so is the food. Everyone who has waited on us has been great but extra shout out to Julio who usually takes care of us and does a great job. The lunch specials are priced great and nicely portioned. My go to is pineapple and chicken.

Update for our 2026 annual visit:…read more We ate in this year and the service and ambiance matched the quality of the food we had last year. I have been looking forward to the World Ninja Championships so that I can eat here again and the team did not disappoint. I had the special, chilaquiles supreme and YES! Flank steak butterflied and so tender that I cut through it easily with a butter knife. They make the chips fresh for each order of chilaquiles and you can taste it. Generous amounts of every flavor that went into the meal and I left stuffed! Hands down, my favorite place and I have a feeling we are making a second trip here this year for sure! First impression as you walk in, or look at images of the menu: AUTHENTIC! First impressions when you bite into your food: They nailed the first impression! I had the lingua, tripa, pez, and Pastor tacos. My family had the California burrito, chicken and beef tacos, and the Enchiladas Mexicanos with mole and salsa verde. We also added a side of guac and chips. Guac: thin mixed avocado and perfectly sized chunks mixed in with the tomato and seasonings. An absolute must! The 4 tacos I ate were succulent to say the least. The tripa was thin and crispy, but you could taste the rendered fat in them. It had the texture of perfectly cooked bacon. Al pastor is one of my favorites and this one did not disappoint. Then there was the pez taco that was just the right amount of crispy without being an iota overcooked. At last I ate the lingua taco. It melted in my mouth and I immediately wanted another. I don't even like mole sauce, but I couldn't stop eating the mole enchilada. Aces, hands down. The California burrito was phenomenal and had the perfect amount of each ingredient and a delectable amount of heat and sweet cream sauce. The chicken was obviously hand shredded and had equal amounts of larger chunks of meat and thin pulled pieces to soak up all the flavor in endless nooks and crannies. If you have not been here please do your palate a flavor and stop in. The value far exceeded the price of our meals and we plan on coming here every year when the World Ninia finals rome to town

True to its namesake, there are brightly colored folk art designs throughout the restaurant in line with their Mexican heritage. The trees that make it look overgrown from the outside actually serve to allow sunlight while masking the surrounding city, facilitating the transformation that makes you feel like you're in Mexico City. We came at an off-peak time in the afternoon and it was nearly empty. We were seated immediately and the service was prompt and attentive. I was pleased to see some unique menu offerings like Birra Ramen and Sopes that deviate from the standard American-friendly fare in most places. Drinks were good - we had a regular house margarita, a triple berry margarita, and a jalapeño cucumber margarita. All were tasty and I would order again. I tried to order a Mezcalita, since it's not often I see a Mezcal option, but they were out of that particular liquor. We tried to get street corn as an appetizer, which they were also out of. We got cheese and salsa with chips instead. The chips were hot and fresh, the salsa generous with the cilantro, and the cheese bold and warm. For entrees we had the Al Pastor Quesadilla and the Birra Ramen. The quesadilla was good, though the beans on the side were pretty bland. The ramen was a unique and very tasty option, and I was not able to finish such a generous portion. I think I'd leave the cheese out next time since it made some weird textures, but the flavor was great overall. Overall, there are some small things to improve (having menu items in stock, bland beans) and the prices were a bit high, but we had a great experience overall. I'm not often in the area, but I'll certainly eat here again if I am!

Met up with a friend to grab lunch today, and had another great experience. Surprisingly, especially for a Friday, we were the only people there for lunch another small party arrived toward the end of our meal. The hostess/waitress was very friendly and attentive, checking on us, keeping chips, salsa and drinks topped off. I got the lunch ACP, which was quick to come out, and a first for me, it was served with choice of corn or flour tortillas...I opted for flour. The food tasted great, and portion size was perfect, honestly, probably a little more than I should have eaten for lunch, but it will tide me over until dinner. Definitely worth checking out. This spot has an amazing bright and vibrant atmosphere, beautifully decorated with bright colors, a much different look inside then out. I'm sure I'll be back again soon, good food, great, and quick service!

The name Bandito Bodega is extremely accurate, as the store itself is a small and unassuming looking place, with a charmingly decorated interior and some indoor and outdoor seating. It was very convenient to order at the cash register as soon as you walk in, and the staff was very patient and efficient. I adored the unpretentiousness and individuality of the place. It did not need any flashiness or grandeur- just some good food and good vibes. Now the food: WOW I was blown away by the pork belly garlic fried rice. The pork belly was so incredibly fatty and perfectly crispy, the shrimp add-on was juicy and well seasoned, and the fried egg over a bed of DELICIOUS steamy garlicky fried rice was absolutely perfection. And they do NOT skimp on the portions. This heaping bowl was just $15, and it was generously topped with the pork belly. This will easily be a place I plan to frequent often, for the convenience, food, and charm.

I came across California Burrito Express on Uber Eats and noticed they had a birria burrito. That immediately got my attention because if you've ever had good birria, you know how tender and flavorful that meat can be. I ordered the birria burrito with black beans, yellow rice, cheese, sour cream, and sautéed peppers and onions. I skipped the lettuce because...well, let's just say I'd rather not gamble with shredded lettuce these days. I also ordered a side of consommé, queso, and guacamole because I wanted to see how everything compared to other chain restaurants First, the burrito itself was fantastic. The flour tortilla was exactly how I like it: warm, chewy, and stretchy instead of dry or falling apart. The birria was seasoned really well and incredibly tender. I honestly didn't even need the consommé because the meat kept the burrito nice and juicy on its own. My only real complaint is that there was way too much rice. I wish there were a "light rice" option in the app because it kind of took over the burrito. I saw options for extra meat and other add-ons, but nothing to reduce the rice. The queso was a winner. It was thick enough to cling to a chip but not so thick that it turned into paste. Definitely something I'd order again. The guacamole wasn't really my style. It tasted like it had salsa or a lot of lime mixed into it. That's just a personal preference because I like my guacamole simple and avocado-forward, so I wouldn't order that again. My original plan was to eat half the burrito and save the rest for later...yeah, that didn't happen. It was so good that I finished the entire thing, and I was ridiculously full afterward. Since I ordered through Uber Eats, I can't really comment on the service or atmosphere, but based on the food alone, I'd give this meal a solid 7.5/10. I'd absolutely order from California Burrito Express again. Next time I'll skip the guacamole, definitely keep the queso, and if they ever add a light rice option, this burrito would be even better. If you're craving a burrito and you're tired of the usual chains around town, give California Burrito Express a shot. Ciao for now!
