Burrito Bowl. As you can see, the rice barely covered the bottom. It was the same on the other side under the limes.
Stephanie D.

This Barberitos used to be the best in town. I'm not sure what happened. A couple weeks ago, we got some food and the portion size was a little smaller than usual. We didn't say anything and figured maybe someone was training. Then we got home and the salsa tasted off. Again, figured maybe an off day, we have never had any major problems before. Just typical to go issues. After tonight, we will never be back. The restaurant wasn't busy or crowded, we actually were the only people in there. The 3 people working barely spoke to us, and when they did they just kept talking over each other so we had to ignore one of them to speak to the other. We almost didn't receive salsa as the woman asked us about chips while we were telling another person our toppings, and she didn't put salsa in the bag. We realized before we left. By the time we got home (10-15 mins) to eat, we noticed the portion sizes. My burrito bowl was more bowl than anything. There was likely one scoop of rice as it didn't even fill the bottom, and maybe a half scoop of chicken. I'm used to the toppings making me stuff the bowl shut, and having enough to make 2 meals out of it. My toppings barely touched the lid of the container. It was very disappointing as this used to be a favorite restaurant of mine, but over the last few years it has progressively gone down hill.

This has been my spot for so long. Whether it's been picking up dinner or ordering catering for 20-30 people, Barberitos on Pisgah has always delivered the goods. Not only has the decor been given a facelift, but the menu and ingredients have too. I'm usually okay with price hikes but when you lower the quality of the ingredients and also raise prices by 30% -- it usually doesn't end well. Between my group we all ordered variations of steak nachos. Had a desire to add sautéed vegetables on my nachos but the grill looked like it had not been cleaned all day. Skip. The staff did not seem happy to serve. Ordered a drink and had to remind them to give me a cup. Paid for our food and it seemed like they were going to just let us walk away without offering a bag. No more salsa bar, that stinks. We were happy with the portion size of the steak, until we got home and started to eat. Most of the steak was chewy with gristle littered throughout (enter lower quality). I would return once more just out of the kindness of my heart and knowing how well the past experiences went. I would skip on the steak, for sure. Sadly, I don't see much hope in the future for this location.

Finally, back open for business! Tucked away in North Elm Village, they have returned from a long remodel and awesome as always. The friendly staff are eager to please and the choices offered are fresh and very tasty. Had the chicken burrito with pico, rice, spinach, and their special vinaigrette. Yum! So glad they're back and love the new look!

I love Barberitos! Personally I think it is better than all of the competitors I.e Moe's, Chipotle. This location is always clean + friendly. * Favorites* Chicken Burrito Bowl with black beans, rice, chicken, cheese, corn salsa + chipotle ranch. Chicken Quesadilla

Love me some Barberitos! My go to is their spicy chicken burrito with rice and cheese. It's packed full of yummy spicy chicken and I love to drizzle their queso over it. The chips are like heaven, and give me all the spicy fire red salsa please! Can you tell I love a little heat on my food?! We've had their catering on several occasions and it's always a hit. Barberitos is a family favorite!

Had my quesadilla made by Sarah and felt like it was tailor made. Great work guys keep it up!! I didn't feel like any regular customer with this kind of service.

Your typical made to order burrito joint. The staff was incredibly friendly and the man who made our jumbo sized burritos was generous with the servings he put on. The food was fresh and their Chipotle Ranch sauce is a MUST on what you order because I'd eat that with anything & everything! The only major downside is that their 99 cent queso is basically a tablespoon. Definitely not spending $1.99 on what looks like 2 tablespoons! Wasn't busy at all during the dinnertime hour, so you could eat without feeling like you had to rush.

Cannot rate the restaurant. We arrived 20 minutes after opening for lunch. The door was still locked.

Not bad. It's average. I usually go here if I don't feel like driving down Battleground Ave. to go to Moe's or searching for Chipotle.

True to its namesake, there are brightly colored folk art designs throughout the restaurant in line with their Mexican heritage. The trees that make it look overgrown from the outside actually serve to allow sunlight while masking the surrounding city, facilitating the transformation that makes you feel like you're in Mexico City. We came at an off-peak time in the afternoon and it was nearly empty. We were seated immediately and the service was prompt and attentive. I was pleased to see some unique menu offerings like Birra Ramen and Sopes that deviate from the standard American-friendly fare in most places. Drinks were good - we had a regular house margarita, a triple berry margarita, and a jalapeño cucumber margarita. All were tasty and I would order again. I tried to order a Mezcalita, since it's not often I see a Mezcal option, but they were out of that particular liquor. We tried to get street corn as an appetizer, which they were also out of. We got cheese and salsa with chips instead. The chips were hot and fresh, the salsa generous with the cilantro, and the cheese bold and warm. For entrees we had the Al Pastor Quesadilla and the Birra Ramen. The quesadilla was good, though the beans on the side were pretty bland. The ramen was a unique and very tasty option, and I was not able to finish such a generous portion. I think I'd leave the cheese out next time since it made some weird textures, but the flavor was great overall. Overall, there are some small things to improve (having menu items in stock, bland beans) and the prices were a bit high, but we had a great experience overall. I'm not often in the area, but I'll certainly eat here again if I am!

Brittani and I split the nachos, which showed up piled high like they had something to prove. Every bite delivered--fresh, loaded, and just messy enough to remind you you're doing something right with your life. No nonsense, no waiting around pretending to check your phone--just tacos doing their job. Shoutout to the staff for being genuinely friendly and for the extra chips assist. That's the kind of foresight usually reserved for chess players and grandmothers. And the price? Honestly refreshing. In today's world, walking out feeling full and not financially attacked is its own kind of luxury. First visit was a strong one. Taco Mama clearly understands the assignment--and extra credit.

The restaurant was not super packed so my order didn't take too long. When I got to my office, the bag that I assumed was chips was just queso. So I was not given chips. Initially, I thought chips must've been sold separately but I confirmed on my ticket that chips should've been on the side so I gave them a quick call. I spoke to Alan who was able to pull up my order and apologized and his resolve for my inconvenience was pretty amazing. Since my break room had an alternative for chips, I was still able to eat. The chorizo was so good and it had a little heat to it which paired nicely with the queso, guacamole and cilantro lime rice that I got. Lastly, the portion size is enough for 2 meals possibly 3 if I don't share.

The name Bandito Bodega is extremely accurate, as the store itself is a small and unassuming looking place, with a charmingly decorated interior and some indoor and outdoor seating. It was very convenient to order at the cash register as soon as you walk in, and the staff was very patient and efficient. I adored the unpretentiousness and individuality of the place. It did not need any flashiness or grandeur- just some good food and good vibes. Now the food: WOW I was blown away by the pork belly garlic fried rice. The pork belly was so incredibly fatty and perfectly crispy, the shrimp add-on was juicy and well seasoned, and the fried egg over a bed of DELICIOUS steamy garlicky fried rice was absolutely perfection. And they do NOT skimp on the portions. This heaping bowl was just $15, and it was generously topped with the pork belly. This will easily be a place I plan to frequent often, for the convenience, food, and charm.

She took care to place napkins, chopsticks, and a fork in the bag and to hand it to me directly. Overall, it was a great experience in service. The ambiance is casual and relaxed, typical of any fast-casual restaurant. At my earliest opportunity, I opened the box, which was stuffed full of pork belly, garlic noodles, broccoli, and scallions. The noodles had just the right amount of sauce, and the pork belly was perfectly cooked. The portion was so large that I ate some for lunch and finished the rest for dinner, and didn't need anything else either time. Burrito made exactly how you want it and right in front of you with very few things costing an upcharge? Sold. Been hitting that up on occasion for over a decade, and will continue to do so. This rating, like any of my fast food or fast casual ratings, is based on this locations experience vs. other Moe's locations. I'd imagine most people know what Moe's tastes like by now. I usually go to the location on Wendover, but they're currently being renovated and the Moe's craving hit after a workout, so I decided to go to this one on Battleground. They were about 45 minutes to closing, but the team was still reasonable friendly and engaged, the small line moved quickly. My homewrecker burrito was perfectly made, plenty of meat and toppings, chips were warm, and the salsas are always really good. They have some new sauces on offer, and I really dig the Poblano crema. The chipotle ranch has always been good, but this usurped it. This time they had a new salsa verde on the salsa bar featuring extra garlic flavor and I really liked that one. The Tomatillo and el Guapo are standards for me as well, plus their hot sauce to pour in the burrito. Why the 4 stars? Because... I have a dream. And one day, there will be a Moe's that makes my dream a reality. That dream, is to pull down on the tea plunger after 8pm on a Monday, and see tea actually come out and go into my cup. Sweet or unsweet, doesn't matter. This remains a dream of mine despite countless trips to Moe's on a Monday after my workout. I realize they close at 9, and there was probably a dinner rush before I got there, but can we not have some tea ready in the back to simply roll out once that rush is over? Or have someone say they're in the process of brewing more? If this happens every time, surely it can be prepared for. I wasn't the only one looking for tea... this is the south. People NEED THAT TEA. Me having to settle for a soda aside, this Moe's did a perfectly fine job. Welcome to Moe's!
