9/6/26 Barber Craftsmanship?! That statement is like a mender of bad Souls who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. If you have a hair Blankes and Copeland from Police Academy, you might get a decent cut, but when it comes to shaving one's head, leopard hat lady will failed time after time. Now I will give her credit on the shaping of the goatee, but when it comes to shaving, the owner of the company called Barber Craftsmanship, only let's his employee's shave the back of the neck. This doesn't count or qualify as being a barber. Chris Tucker would say..."What Hell Did You Just Say?" In fact, why does this place call themselves a barbershop at all. One goes through the training and licensing only to be told by the owner that shaving the back of the neck is the only spot you can shave. What kind of Micky Mouse Crap is that? Okay, I am venting. Now that we got that out of the way, lets get into what happen at this so call establishment. I was greeted by a woman wearing a Leopard Hat...aka Leopard Lady. Upon sitting down at her work station, she asked in broken English "what I wanted done." The vibe in this establishment was cool, calm and collected in the beginning. I informed Leopard Lady I wanted my goatee needed shaped up and have the rest of the hair follicles shaved off. Leopard Lady complied with my request. She used electric clippers to trim down the linger hair before using the gold color BaByliss Pro Double Foil Shavers to shave off the smaller hair follicles. Leopard Lady shapped up my beard and it did look good until I noticed all the hair follicles that weren't cut to leave smooth clean skin. I wasn't happy, but I was also sure she wasn't done yet. Also, the look was cleaner than it was before. Leopard Lady moved onto my head once she did touch up work on my beard. Leopard Lady did much of the same process for the hair on my head. A good amount of time was spent using the Golden BaByliss Pro Double Foil Shaver. When Leopard Lady was done, she looked proud of her work. I was not. Leopard Lady had sections of my head bald while leaving patches of hair exposed. Again I asked about using the razor, because this look was unacceptable. Leopard Lady gave me the impression she wasn't going to do anymore hair cutting and this is when I said " I'm paying for the beard, but the haircut is not acceptable." Leopard Lady did not like this answer. She walked over to her boss and said something. While this was going on, I was looking the I horrid haircut I had just aquired. My mind was screaming "Seriously Leopard Lady, Gargamel's head is more bald than you left mine." After a few seconds I walked I walked over to the checkout counter, but Leopard Lady waved me off. Leopard Lady's jester said "go away, get out, get 2 steppin, C ur way out and Dégage d'ici, putain!" As I turn to leave, Leopard Lady told me "I was bad." Well she can think what she like, but a bad haircut is a bad haircut. A dissatisfied customer isn't going to pay full price or anything for crappy haircut...and that's the bottom line. So, if you need your haircut without a razor cut, you should be f.i.n.e. (see The Italian Job for the definition). If you need a razor work done here, SEEK HELP ELSEWHERE, because Craftsmanship Barbershop sucks in the razor department. read more

I've been a regular at this barbershop, and it's nothing short of amazing. Sarah's extensive experience and skill with all hair types ensure I always leave the shop completely satisfied. The pricing is also excellent--just $20 for a men's haircut, cash only. The price also includes a hot towel massage after the haircut. Place is always clean and tidy and they constantly clean after each customer. Booking is a breeze through their website. I wholeheartedly recommend this barbershop. read more

This place is awesome. Getting a haircut here is only $20 for me as a guy (which you probably won't find anywhere else in NOVA) and the quality is really good. I got to Sarah, she's awesome. read more

This shop was taken over last year by a new young female entrepreneur and she has really increased the service level of the shop with great quality management! I'm super happy about my cut and the coloring I got from here. The ambiance is nice and clean, I would highly recommend! read more

Barber Craftsmanship - My highlighted hair with layers - best photo I can find! - Barbers Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

I had an old friend take me to this barber location 13 years ago, and I've been back every month since (except for one year I was working remotely). Several weeks ago I came in for a haircut and was shocked to see a sign on the door that they were remodeling under new management. Of course I had to come back and check it out, and I'm glad I did. They did a great job with the remodel, it's a very different vibe with the same friendly faces. Jessi did a great job as always, she's been cutting my hair 8 years and I'm really glad the old staff is still there. One of the new owners, Kathy, took the time to stop and check in with everyone there. It's that little personal touch that keeps me coming back here. If you're an old customer of Family Barber and on the fence about coming back, give it a shot. A couple changes include no more listening to whatever is on tv, there are music speakers that play not too loud and not too soft. There's a new electronic check in system, and I completely spaced today and accidentally put in my real phone number instead of the usual fake one I always use, I think it will be tied to some reward points in the future. New tvs, a big one angled for people waiting, and a couple smaller tvs with some calming slideshows if your eyes get tired of wandering around all the improvements. New paint, new flooring, new chairs, new mirrors, it still has that new shop smell. Overall impression, happy with the experience. Good luck to the new owners, great first impressions read more

As a loyal customer of 5 years, I recently visited Kathy's new place and was so happy to see how well she and the crew are doing. Barber Craftsmanship is a great barbershop with rates that beat anything in the neighborhood. The place was clean and comfortable, and the sports bar vibe of the place kept me entertained. Plus, the staff is professional, courteous, and happy! The real reason I go to B.C. is the perfect haircut. They always provide impressive service that suits my style. I would highly recommend this barbershop to anyone looking for a relaxing quality grooming experience. Thanks again B.C! read more

Great and affordable place! The staff was really friendly and helpful with how I wanted to cut and style my hair. The inside is very spacious and updated. Would recommend greatly! read more

Worst cut of my life. Rude people. I would never go back. I even spoke to owner who was unhelpful.

My husband got a haircut at here today, and he looks very handsome. I'm happy that he found a right barber who didn't cut his hair too short or too long. Highly recommend it. read more

As much as the staff is friendly and seemed overall nice, I think the best words to summarize my experience with this establishment are "misleading" and "inconvenient." First, this is a cash only establishment. It does not state that on the promotional flyer that got mailed to homes in the area or on the door or anywhere in the salon. One could argue that you can infer that because of the presence of an ATM next to the checkout desk, but that's a stretch. Most businesses nowadays offer non contact payment or credit card. If the cost of offering a credit card service to customers is an issue, then I would suggest letting patrons know that they may pay by credit card, but they will incur a credit card fee. Second, the site allows you to book your appointment online. I considered that a huge plus. Except I learned that there is no value to booking your appointment because when I arrived, I waited more than 15 minutes to be seated. I also arrived 5 minutes early, so that's 20 minutes of my time where I had to wait when my appointment was supposedly confirmed by the salon. Rather, I had to wait on those who "walked in" before my appointment time. My suggestion to this salon is if you want to continue to allow patrons to book their appointments online, please honor them in a timely manner. If you want to make room for walk ins, it is possible to adjust the available appointment slot times without inconveniencing a patron who went through the effort to book an appointment online and ultimately was let down. Thirdly, if you check out the "gallery" page on their site, all of those pictures are borrowed/stock photos. I had the expectation that those pictures were to showcase previous work that the staff had done like other salon's have done, but they are not. Rather, it's somebody else's work. Fourth, once you enter, you have to "check in" either at the iPad in the middle of the salon (but not conspicuous to you because it's off to the side) or at the checkout desk in the back. That was not immediately obvious to anyone because signage was lacking, so the person at the front desk had to chase the person who just entered the door every, single, time to get that person to check in. Fifth, there is a row of chairs for patrons to wait for their turn. There are three TVs, presumably, to entertain folks while they wait, but, wait, they were pointing in the opposite direction. So to watch TV, you had to watch through the reflection of the mirrors and perhaps make awkward eye contact with the person who is getting his or her hair cut. One thing that was slightly uncomfortable for me while I waited is during that time, I had to listen to the person at the front desk get hit on by a patron and staff members commenting about other patrons in their presence. While not everyone will be able to understand the language, one day, someone will. As for the finished product, the haircut was decent. However, I noticed that there were many noticeably stray cut hairs left behind on the neck and around the ears, despite their attempt to prevent that. I compare this experience to my last one at a hair salon which was at Elite Barber, and in all the above categories, Elite Barber did better, and so unfortunately, I think I will go there next time even though it is more costly. read more

Great barber shop in Fairfax area . Walked in and they took me immediately without an appointment. Quick haircut, great service and reasonable price. Kathy ( the owner )will get you looking right. Highly recommended read more

Although manager Kathy is great, some hair dressers are horrible. You should describe what you want like 10 times and it might sometimes not be enough though. read more

The cuts are surprisingly cheap for the quality you get, great service and atmosphere as well! Will definitely be going here regularly.

I went here for a simple hair cut. They chopped me up good. I would never go here again.

I took my son there for a cut. It was just awful. I believe this is a new owner. People are not friendly either.

Five years ago I was new to the area and needed a haircut close to work. I have been there once a month ever since with Jessi doing an excellent job each time. Always friendly, professional and polite. The new owner and remodeling have only elevated the experience. read more

Grabbed a haircut here because it was conveniently close to me and I'm not too specific about my haircuts but I was very happy with the results and service I received. Kathy did an excellent job of carefully trimming my hair and she's very gentle and considerate. Great conversation but she kept focus on the job at hand and I was in and out in a short amount of time. Will definitely stopping by here to see Kathy more often. read more

Yesterday was my first time visiting Barber Craftmanship. I'm pleasantly impressed with the shop's eye-soothing decoration, cleanliness, and welcoming ambience. The staff's promptness and friendliness immediately made me feel at home. The reason I'm switching to this barber shop because Hannah, my barber for the past 17 years, is now working there. I've been following her through all the shops that she's worked. Hannah listens to clients' requests and performs the work in such a way that final products are haircuts that look great. She communicates well and takes care of her clients' hair in an attentive and professional manner, and never rushes through haircuts, even when the shop is busy. I would highly recommend Barber Craftmanship and Hannah. read more

Jessi is the best! I'm still not sure about the new management and pricing. But I'll certainly be back for Jessi!

Nice place! Good service, nice environment, good decorations, and good quality of hair cut.

Great spot for good haircuts. The staff is very friendly and good at listening to what you actually want, rather than just looking at your basic look and assuming the rest. As someone who has my hair different lengths in the summer and winter that is especially important to me, and actually quite rare amongst a lot of barber shops. I have recently been going to see Terry, who is great at dealing with my somewhat hard to cut hair. She listens very well and is extremely accommodating to strange requests. Overall a great spot with great prices and a welcoming environment and staff. read more

My wife has been giving me DIY "covid cuts" for the past 3 1/2 years and I decided it's finally time to get back out for a professional haircut. I was lucky enough to randomly walk into Barber Craftsmanship where I was warmly greeted and immediately seated by Jessi. Jessi gave me one of the best haircuts I can remember getting. She's skillful, meticulous and very pleasant. She took her time to give me a beautiful cut and then followed it up with a warm, moist towel and a wonderful neck massage. It doesn't get better than this. My experience today was a 10 out of 10. I think I've found my new go-to spot for an excellent haircut and wonderful customer service. read more

Kathy did a great job with my son's hair! He hates getting his hair cut at home but loved having Kathy do it. He can't stop talking about his new haircut! read more
