Went late on a Sunday without an appointment (I think the appointments are stressed more due to COVID times) They took me anyway and were quick and great. Took my temperature, used disposable covers, and cleaned in between each customer thoroughly. They take cash and credit. Much rather go here than a big chain. read more

This place is a total hit or miss. First time we went to this place looking at reviews of this Jay guy. He was extremely arrogant no manners and abruptly said someone else will cut your hair. So, stopped using him. Next couple of cuts were ok with someone else. One day we went closer to closing time and they said no. I don' understand reviewers here praising this place. Sometimes the website has different time than at the door. This time they went straight to skin fade when we never mentioned skin fade. See the horrible cut these guys did. Very cheap horrible place. I would not recommend. See the pic yourself. read more

Fantastic service! I initially got a haircut that I wasn't entirely happy with after leaving. I came back the next day to get it fixed, fully prepared to pay for it. They sat me down, listened to my request, and corrected it perfectly. When I went to the front counter to pay, they insisted I didn't have to. I even tried to insist, but they assured me and welcomed me back anytime. I'm really pleased with the outstanding service! read more

Jenna did a great job with my hair. She executed my instructions perfectly, trimmed my side burns and slightly shaped the bread as well. The cost for the cut was reasonable at $18. read more

Used to love this place but have had terrible experiences the last two times. During my last visit, I took my two young girls in get their haircut. There were quite a few people waiting and 4 hairstylists. 3 of them made eye contact with me as I entered. I waited patiently for about 1 hr and 15 minutes until it was our turn only to be informed that none of the stylists would do female hair that day. Huhhhhh? No sign, no questions asked as they saw 3 females waiting in line for a whole hour and 15 minutes. It was absolutely ridiculous. I will no longer go to this place. read more

im so not happy with the haircut i got today i have to write review here and on Google. Never go to Tina for women haircut. She trimmed off at least two inches instead of one inch. Giving me an almost man like hairstyle. She was quick but not skilled at all! read more

It was pretty good and very excellent the barber shop did a very good with cutting my haircut. And they did really good better then any other barber shop.I really like the barbershop that I went to they did a tremendous job. I think that is the coolest barbershop in the world read more

I went early in the morning and about 5 hairdressers were sitting around talking to each other. First thing I asked everyone was how much would it be to cut my daughters hair? One lady said $25 and the other one said $20. The first lady said "ughh you want to cut it right now"??with an attitude. It's as if I interrupted their morning conversation. There was only one guy getting his hair cut and they didn't have any other customers. So the lady that said $20 I decided to get my child's haircut from her. She did an okay job. Nothing spectacular. When she gave me the bill she charged me $25. So I told her why did you tell me $20 before and then bill me $25? Honestly I would've willingly paid the $25 if I knew upfront with her. She said "Oh it's $20 for men and & $25 for girls". But it just seemed dishonest to me. I wouldn't recommend the lady with the short hair (like a man's haircut). I won't be coming back and will drive further out and pay to get honest service. read more

Love the haircuts from Jay! He knows what to do, listens, and never causes any problems as long as you are clear. Can't say the same for James though. Midway through the cut I had to ask him to just buzz and give me a high fade but he didn't even do that. He blamed my description (I asked for a medium taper) and the picture I showed him for reference. My hair looks foolish now. Wish him the best but he really tested my vibe. Most of the other barbers, especially Jay, know what they doing so be wise with who you say yes to. read more

Friendly staffs. Super quick. They have at least 4 hair stylists every time when I'm there. They have mostly male customers. I do not think they take reservations especially when they're busy in the weekends, but even without reservation it maybe worth waiting. $12 for male haircut ($30 for haircut + color) and $20 for female haircut. read more

Overall, this is a nice location with friendly barbers who can stylize your hair well. Some stylists might be more suited for you and it is nice that since this is a local barber shop, you will get familiar with the barbers very quickly! First, they effectively cut and stylize hair with no issues. This place is not accessible to all but still accommodates many customers. The workers ensure that the place is kept well clean by regularly mopping the floors as there are always large buildups of hair on the ground. The place is slightly disorganized and is an OK place to stay in. tl;dr: I would recommend this location as it is local and the barbers are very friendly. Additionally, they regularly clean and you will be familiar with them very quickly. read more

$8 Haircut? YES!!! My regular barber shop keeps increasing their price ($24?!), so I decided to move on. First time at CJ Haircuts and it was great! It is a barber/cosmetology school so know that going in, but the students take their time to get it right. Instructors are watching to ensure a good experience. Staff was friendly and polite, I wish I would've discovered this place sooner. A hidden gem in Fairfax. And, $8 leaves a lot of room for a nice tip. A+++ read more

First of all the price for Man and boy haircut is increased by $2 so its $14 and the increase happen since March 2019. This was my first time here it was all right experience maybe the barber was new so it took couple of round to fix the hair cut but she had patience to listen. read more

The shop was cool on a hot day, nice. The barber used an electric men's shaver on my neck instead of the traditional shave, no thanks. When I got home I noticed several patches of hair they missed when doing my buzz cut, wth? I would have returned here if I had gotten a good cut. read more

Good place for guys. There are two barbers that I would recommend: Kristen or Jay. Only $8, too! Cash only for lower prices, I think their min is like $10. read more

I am not a fan ofbthe $8 haircut because, well, they look like $8 haircuts. That said, I was pleasantly shocked at the price of the haircut I received from CJs. Enough so that I tipped her 100% and still feel I got the better deal. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quick appointment (I walked in and only had to wait 10 min.), or to save some money. The language barrier is my only complaint. read more

Had a quick snip here (#1 all over FTW!) today and very pleased with the result. No waiting, straight into a chair, no fuss, bosh! Done. Just like a functional barber shop should be. $10, too. Beat THAT, Sport Clips! Don't go expecting an extensive conversation about those Redskins/Capitals/United or hoity-toity fanciful accoutrements. Need a haircut? Okay, come in, sit down, wait a bit, and you'll find your hair has been cut. Hurrah! read more

Say about 2 1/2 - 3 stars for the place and for the price. Wasn't overly impressed when I got home and really looked at my haircut, but for the price, what can you expect. As others have mentioned, the langauge barrier can be a problem, but with a little patience, things can work out for the better. Will have to stick to the place I go to on LIttle River Turnpike in Annandale for my next haircut though for at least they can do a better job. read more

The job is not steady and rarely well done since CJ keep bringing in every now and then different amateur ladies to practice their newly apprenticeship on people's hair!! This is the 4 the time I got an awful hair cut done by a lady that does not understand English nor speaks it! I left with a side shorter than the other this time! Very lousy Job!! I guess that's what you get for a cheap price!!! Never again!!! read more

The ladies did the best job for my two boys' hair. They have Asian hair and have different styles and accommodated well to both. Very attentive to my desires. One of the ladies cut my son's hair very well-she used mostly scissors on his long hair. read more

This is not worth the money. I brought in a photo - OF ME, not some stranger - and told her that was the same haircut I wanted. Shorter on the sides and a little longer - about finger length - on the top. The entire time she was cutting my hair the blades were pulling out hairs. I've never seen anyone use buzzers or scissors so quick. I was hoping that she would tie it all together in the end, but needless to say I left with: * the hair on the right side of my head about an inch longer than the left * there was a bald spot on the left side of my head * she cut a hole in my beard on the left * my neckline was about 2 inches higher than it should have been * my neckline was also crooked, and so was my bangs. This was the worst haircut I have ever received. I had to go home and use my buzzers to cut the rest of my hair all the way down. read more

They did not cut off how much i wanted and she didn't do layers like i asked. very disappointed $30 for the same hair cut i had!

i hate this place i came in and asked for a fade and a little of the top now my hair is uneven

4 stars.. Pros: -can't beat that $14.99 price for women! which is mostly why I'm giving this place 4 stars -not a long wait even though it's pretty busy since most of them are cutting men's hair (which doesn't take long) -good if you just want a trim. I asked for a few inches off and layers--the next morning after I showered and straightened my hair, it didn't look choppy or uneven. Cons: -I think the hair cutter/stylists are a little catty--argued amongst each other Notes and Tips: -Kristin cut my hair, she's really nice and talkative too -if Kristin is not there, I may ask for Jay (both of them have been there the longest, I am told) -I went on a Wednesday night at 6pm--they close at 7 -Total cost for my haircut was $20.00 (I gave more than enough tip because I will be coming back to her!), really can't beat that price for simple layered hair and trim anywhere---and better than hair cuttery! read more

This barber shop violates Virginia laws on providing sanitary service. They don't follow Virginia laws on how to disinfect haircutting tools before and after using in customers. They are nice people but have very bad communication skills. I watched the owner asking a kid who was already on the barber chair to vacate it to another middle age customer. The weird thing is that that middle age customer told the owner that he came after the kid, not before, but the owner ignored him and turned to another lady asking her to take the kid's turn. The kid's dad was seemingly embarrassed and shook his head in dismay and asked his kid to leave without getting the haircut. The owner did not even talked to the dad. No one did. But most importantly this shop is a health risk. See the laws below: 2. Disinfection of multiuse items constructed of hard, nonporous materials such as metal, glass, or plastic that the manufacturer designed for use on more than one client, including clippers, scissors, combs, and nippers is to be carried out in the following manner prior to servicing a client: (Virginia barber law) http://www.doe.virginia.gov/instruction/career_technical/administration/regulations/board-for-barbers-and-cosmetology-regulations.pdf read more

Price: $12 for men's haircut Barber: Jay What happened: I asked for a certain haircut I used to have. I showed him pictures and even a short video which showed my haircut clearly. Proceeded to get my hair messed. When I said I wasn't happy with it, he said my hair was too short. It wasn't because of this. the last barber that gave me this haircut was able to cut it a specific way even when it was a bit shorter and make it look like what I asked for. Jay just clipped my hair to the skin and didn't even fade it on the sides like I asked. I ended having to pay the full $12 either way, added a $2 tip do $14 total, but I'm not coming back. I'm going to try the other barbershops around here, the more expensive ones. Verdict on this place: if you want a regular haircut that looks alright and is cheaper than other places this is a good spot, but if you want a shape up of the gods and a haircut that finesses, go elsewhere read more

I just happened across this shop while eating nearby in the strip mall during a visit to Fairfax. I only require a 1 1/2 all around, so my hair is not hard to cut; however, not everyone can provide a nice deep even cut with a slight taper along the neck and ears. The price was perfect and so was my haircut. read more

Even though they upped the price, Jay rocks. Its a shame he works only on Thu-Sun, but for the price they give a great value.

Bad attitude... would give it 0 stars if I could. Feel like RACE is a problem. I felt like they treated me different I will never recommend. Just stating my opinion Wow the response is outrages instead of apologizing..they try to correct me I am for sure is this and I know it's been under construction I just didn't have the time to write and now do. I'm in the shop for the 2nd time to get two f2f my sons mops cut since its almost summer. So far so good. Last time did great and this time looks to be great as well. For $10 and get a good cut can't complain. Only complaint is that last time we came they must have been smoking out the back door cause as we came in they came from the back and a minute later it smelled like smoke in the shop for about 10 minutes which bothered me. otherwise. Clean shop, lots of business and good cuts. Can't go wrong!! read more
