Nothing beats an ice-cold beer after a hike. Compared to Manhattan, the prices were very reasonable, making the meal feel like a great value. One of the best parts is the location right next to the railroad tracks--you can enjoy your meal while watching the trains pass by, which gives the place a unique charm. Unfortunately, they didn't have any others available. The unique thing about this restaurant is that it's right next to the train tracks. At first it was really cool watching the trains go by, especially for the kids. But they came by much more often than we expected and the novelty wore off pretty quickly. The trains are literally less than 10 feet from some of the tables. Not necessarily a negative, just something to know since it definitely shapes the dining experience. They do have a kids menu. We originally wanted to try the Chicken Tinga Egg Rolls but they were sold out that day. The fish and chips were good and the portions were huge. The fried calamari was also pretty good. The Double Double Burger was just an average cheeseburger. It was fine but definitely overpriced for what it was. We also ordered some kind of garlic bread that I couldn't find again on the online menus. It was toast with garlic, cheese, and some kind of jam spread. I really didn't like it. Service ranged from okay to almost absent. It was a holiday weekend and our waitress seemed to be covering a lot of tables so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Everything here was pretty expensive which made some of the misses harder to overlook. Overall, the train side location makes for a unique experience, especially if you have young kids who like trains. We had to try the wings. Like others have said...big wings and decently priced in todays' economy. I got hot garlic. They were seasoned well and very tasty. Colleague got wings and had some sauce that was a combination of three sauces, forgot the name. He said they were good and no one he could finish them all! We shared onion petals which I likely wouldn't get again. More breading than anything and I'm guessing just out of a bag and fried. Had two cold beers and the bartender was very attentive to our needs. If you are in the area for lunch, stop in and have some wings and a cold one. They have quite a few choices in their sauces. They have two different weights in axes. You can choose an hour ($25 pp) or two. We didn't have to reserve in advance but if you do there's a deposit. The place looked very dim from the outside but you can either park in the back or in front of some other stores in the front. There's a pool and video game area in the back but it was inhabited by a group of dudes and seemed a bit dated in there. The main strip is pretty busy with a lot of chain stores and restaurants.

It was a Thursday so maybe things weren't as busy as normal but we showed up a little early and the back biergarten was open so we got some drinks as it was a nice spring afternoon. The bartender was very friendly and when we attempted to bring our drinks around front she let us know that we had to finish them first. The Venue itself reminded me a bit of the nearby Levon Helm studios in that it's an open space with a balcony overlooking everything and seating and standing room on the base floor. One thing I loved about this show is the sound was great. We sat stage left but the PA was subtly piping the DJ and guitar parts from stage right. It wasn't a huge crowd but people were having a good time with some standing room in front of the bar dancing etc. The bartenders were super attentive and responsive during the performance. I have been to Bearsville, Levon Helm and now Colony and I really feel lucky to have such intimate performance spaces somewhat locally. All of the staff were super friendly. Will be back for sure!

Only about 50 people who got there at the opening had a chance to get a seat. Others like us lucked out and had to figure out how to eat without a table .
