After a too embarrassing to admit BBQ incident (ahem, fire extinguishers are your friend) we needed to replace the flavor wave heat plates on our Broil King BBQ. We tried CDN tire first but they didn't have the exact size match and wanted $30 a plate and we needed 3 - ouch! So we hopped back on the road and made the agonizing trek to the middle of construction hell to go to Barbecue Country for the first time. We ventured straight back to the party department (just like an auto parts store) and found a most helpful gentleman who found our exact heat plates made by Broil King and they were only $15 each! Hip hip hooray. A few accessories like rainbow fire and our Favourite Bone Sucking BBQ seasoning and we were out the door and on our way to Costco for some juicy steaks! I almost forgot, they had a STAR WARS BBQ that seared Star Wars into your food - Oh.My.Yoda. Amazing and expensive, it was. Two thumbs way up BBQ Country! It's summer and that means.. it's BBQ SEASON !!! When it comes to anything about BBQ or smoking meats , this is the place to go whether you are a beginner BBQer or a well seasoned ( pun intended ) Pit Master BBQ chef. A wide spacious store with BBQs and Smokers and every thing you need to get started in BBQing steaks, ribs and anything else you want to grill. But the best part is all the accessories and parts you may need if you need to fix your old BBQ. Plus a great selection of spices, brining kits , BBQ sauces and even recipe books. The store is super clean and well stocked and enough space to walk around . Now here is the down side to the store. Every time I have come in, I see the staff in the center of the store where the till is and not one will say Hello or come up and ask if they can assist you. Oh and also, I dont know if the female is aware but for gods sake, someone be nice and tell her to SHAVE HER LEGS !!!! So.. here is what I think they expect customers to do... browse , select and then go up and pay , get it into the car and go home. So I walked into bbq country and was the only person in the store and yet none of the staff greeted me or asked once if I could use some help. Instead the three of them sat behind the counter two of them watched while the third one sprayed something clean. Great selection of spices and utensils but watch the prices as I seen a pair of tongs the same brand at dollar tree they were selling them here for seven dollars. I would recommend going in if you know what you want but if you have any questions or concerns I would recommend going somewhere else read more

Store was clean, well laid out. I am leaving without spending the 3 grand I intended to based on the service. I expected lead time on ordering a new grill. I expected to pay and not get my grille for two months. What I didn't expect was a dealer that had no interest in putting anything to paper or putting an order together. If you want a quick in and out shopping experience, looks like it could be a decent place, but if you want the service to go with making a large purchase, shop elsewhere. read more

Barbecue Country is pretty much what the name implies. If you are setting up your backyard with your own home patio this is the store that has everything you will need. They carry all types of Barbecues from propane to natural gas to electric. They also carry all types of accessories and replacement parts. Other than your required BBQ supplies you can find things like firepits, patio heaters and patio furnishings here. You will find the prices to be a bit cheaper at a place like Canadian tire but this store has a bigger variety since it specializes in barbecues and the price doesn't differ all that much. read more

Great selection but I asked two of the workers for the price on a Kamado Joe they didn't know wouldn't look it up,told me that they would not sell the floor model and that they can put my name on a list rather than selling me the barbeque that I drove across the city for,I guess this is why everybody is shopping online read more

Grilling runs in my family. Well, ok, my dad and I take it very seriously. Sometimes when we have a day off together, like today, we will just go down here to check out what's new, browse around and spend a large portion of our free time. Spices, sauces, racks, tools and grills, they've got everything here. From the monster grill my parents purchased that can handle approximately an entire side of beef to my more apartment sized machine you will find what you need. Every time we go in we find something that we need... or maybe didn't need, but are leaving with anyway. They even have deck furniture and fire pits! Seriously, my parents deck can double as one of their showrooms. Beautiful, high quality product. Why the less one star? Service. Super inconsistent. My dad and I are pretty educated about the items that we want and need so it's not much of an issue for the two of us, but if you don't know what you want you might find it a bit challenging depending on the day you're here. read more

I recently purchased a Weber portable BBQ at BBQ Country. When I was looking over the selections I had some questions as to the differences in BBQs. I was basically told they are all good. I finally decided on the Weber and took it home expecting to grill steaks that night with a friend I invited over. That was not to be. They failed to tell me that I would need an extra hose connection in order to use my 20 lb tank. I called the manager Ryan and told him what happened and that I was very disappointed with his sales staff. This is the 2nd time I was in trying to decide what I wanted and got the same response from the sales staff. They are all good. Anyway a big shout out to Ryan who immediately sent a delivery driver to install the part and made sure it was all working properly. Now that is service. Thanks so much Ryan. read more

This place has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The sales people have been rude in person and on the telephone while trying to make a purchase. Our purchase took 3 months to arrive and each time the sales people were rude, and promised the purchase would be here next week. Check online and find the exact same stuff at half price from other companies in Alberta read more

Wow, very disappointing. The staff here had very little knowledge and couldn't give us many details about the Patio heater we were trying to buy. We finally ordered and were told 1 or 2 weeks (Begining of March) About two weeks later my wife called and was berated on the telephone for not having order #, and then for calling when they said they would call us. Waited full month till beginning of April and called again. They again rudely explain that its on order and they will call us. They were the exact opposite of helpful. Fine wait until beginning of May and call again. Still no help until we finally speak to a lady who see's what the problem is. She was helpful and explained that the patio heater was never ordered properly in the first place. Thank god someone there was able to figure it out, would have been nice if the countless people before her would have spent the time to see that. She ordered it for us and we thought the nightmare was over until a man, maybe the manager got on the phone to tell us that we would need to pay the difference as the price has gone up since the day in March when we paid in full. We told them that we would not be paying the extra and they finally agreed to order us the product. Today over 2 months later we finally received the heater. Would not recommend anyone waste their time with this company. read more

2 Stars for "Meh, I've experienced better" is right. I thought i would take a break from Amazon, and big box stores, and help out a more local business... Mistake! Aside from the obviously higher prices (which i expected and was willing to deal with for better, more comprehensive service) my initial experience was just... ok. I drove into Edmonton having researched the grill i wanted. The sales staff had less knowledge about the grill than i did after only a half hour or so of Googling it. No biggy though, i know what i want anyways... I take my grill home, spend the time unpacking, hauling up to my deck, and assembling... Only to find the very last step (plugging two quick couplers together for side burner gas) can't be completed because the two gas fittings don't couple. Thats fine i figure, I'll wait till I'm back in the city in two weeks, stop by BBQ Country, and grab a couple of new fittings off of them. After all, i can still use the grill till then, just not the side burner. I'm sure they will be happy to accommodate, i mean thats why i spent all the extra money up front, was for that "personal touch" that you can't get at big box stores right? Cut to 12 days later, standing in the store with the two non compatible fittings. I'm told flat out "Not our problem, you have to contact Weber" I say "Well theres about 10 scratched up floor models sitting on your floor, can we pull a fitting off of one of them, and then you guys can contact Weber and get a replacement part for your floor model?" Again i'm told, "Not our problem, we can't do that. Maybe if you hadn't grilled on it, you could have brought the bbq it in for a replacement" :O Yea! I really want to completely disassemble my entire grill, then try and Tetris it back into its tiny box, carry back to my truck, and haul it back to Edmonton just because a little gas fitting??? Get real! Long story short, They are overpriced, and will kiss butt to get your service, but after you purchase, they could care less about your needs. I'll be going back to Amazon and big box stores. read more

Tried to make some informed decisions on built in BBQ's...zero knowledge of the BBQ brand they sell, dimensions, difference in warranty between models or any interest in helping us find the information online. When we first drove up, I was expecting a more showy place inside, but it was a very simple layout. Not as big as I thought it was going to be, but well appointed. We were just stopping in for parts for our current BBQ, and found the parts section (so marked with large, easy to find letters above it!), in the corner of the store. Walked up, told him the parts and the model number, and he had a small pile in front of us in no time! "Oh, that's the Monarch line" or something. I don't know. I had a number. But it all fit perfectly! They know their stuff! We wandered the store and enjoyed the smell of the ribs grilling out front (it would be another 45 minutes before they were ready, so we never got to try them, but they smelled gooooooooooooooooooood). read more

The selection of grills here is awesome. I was looking for a portable grill but could not find one at Walmart, Cabela's, etc. I ended up buying a broil king portable grill and was happy with that purchase. I also bought a 5lb propane tank for $89.99. That seemed a little steep and I asked for a break on the price and was told they didn't have room to wiggle on the tanks. I bought it anyway. Then I was in Canadian Tire and stopped by the propane tanks there. Found the same tank for $49.99. When I went back into the store they offered a store credit for the remainder if the cost but no refund. Needless to say I returned the tank and went straight to Canadian Tire. Long story short... Good deals on the grills but you may want to go elsewhere for your accessories. read more
