BUYER BEWARE!!! We spent over $24,000 with Trail Appliances and when we received our Bosch Refrigerator and Micro/Oven Combo unit the Stainless Steel did not match - they sit right next to each other and it is extremely noticeable. I reached out to Trail Appliances and they told me to contact Bosch, I contact Bosch and they tell me to contact Trail Appliances. Trail appliances would not offer any type of solution - so I offered a solution to Trail for the unmatched appliances. I offered to bring in a stainless steel swatch and match the Micro/Oven combo unit to exchange for any other brand that would match to the refrigerator. They would not exchange the appliance - they offered me another appliance at COST price. I did not think spending more money was the solution Trail Appliances should have offered to their customer. UPDATE: Your March 11, 2026 response to my review is inaccurate. You mentioned that you advocated on our behalf with the manufacturer and solutions were offered. That is simply not true that you or Bosch offered any type of a solution for us. The issue had nothing to do with the new matching the old appliances. We bought a high end Dacor Induction Range, about 8 years ago. The broil function stopped working. We phoned Trail Aapliance and they offered no help. They didn't even advise us whom could repair it. I had to get a hold of Dacor corporate to find a repair company. In the end, Dacor doesn't make the parts anymore so we have to buy a whole new range. Trail is selling equipment, deemed as high end, like Dacor, that is not serviceable and doesn't last. I would really do your research and find a supplier who has better after sales service, than Trail. read more

Worst experience ever I bought a new home. and when I went to look at the house the aplainces was not yet there. We closed the deal the following two weeks I moved in i notice there was a dent in the fridge door I took a picture of it thinking that would be OK for proof of damage. When I finally finished moved in I reach out to trail and they told me that it would have to be reported within 2 days of the incident. Great service in the store and while completing our purchase. Goods were delivered and installed more or less in the timeframe that they said they would. The install crew left behind some goods and forgot some instructions on which we had agreed with our sales team and the customer service team. We have left no less than six messages with the store and spoken to people there who picked up the phone; multiple people have promised us we would receive a phone call back. There is radio silence from this organization after you purchase from them. We are very concerned about our future warranty and support for the appliances we purchased. Our fridge compressor expired 3 weeks after the warranty did. After much back and forth with trail and the manufacturer that would not help us, Sonny saved the day. Trying to find cost effective ways to fix our fridge and the realization that we have been without a kitchen fridge for several weeks, he went above and beyond any expectation and instead replaced our 4500 fridge to deal with the manufacturer himself. I had a lot of doubts on the situation as we were past our warranty but once Sonny the sales manager got involved, he turned this around instantly and blew us away with his commitment to customer service. The true test of a good company is not how they deal with a customer when everything goes as planned, it's how they deal with the problems that occur. Trail Appliances basically washes their hands of any recurring problems. Not only that, but known issues with appliances that their service department knows about are not conveyed to their sales team. Speaking to the store manager (well, that actually didn't happen) or the sales manager does nothing. In fact, the sale manager didn't even follow up until we called him again. Even then all he did was direct the call to service to let the woman on the call desk deal with a customer who was not happy about the service they were receiving. Our new range is ruining the backsplash in the kitchen. The oven cleaner I used because AquaLift doesn't work ruined the inside of the oven. And now I have to look forward to inadequate insulation in the door that will eventually ruin my cabinetry. Trail doesn't care. Whirlpool doesn't care. And I'm out a lot of money. And more if I continue with this product and it further damages my kitchen. read more

Update: We're on day 10 without a fridge. The part they need has been sitting in Edmonton for most of the week but repair company tells me they have no one who can install it this week. Tried calling Trail Appliances to talk about other options without any luck. Tip: the best way to get a hold of Trail Appliances is to write a negative review, they respond quickly to that. Three years ago we spent $4000.00 on a Kitchenaid fridge from Trail Appliances. We also paid extra for the extended warranty. We started having problems with the fridge a few months after we purchased it and have had nothing but problems with it every year since. Each time the fridge breaks down we have to throw out all of our food and a few times water from the ice machine has leaked on the floor and damaged our flooring. Each time we have contacted the warranty company we have waited a minimum of one week before they can repair the fridge, sometimes we go two weeks without a fridge waiting for the warranty company to order parts and come out and repair the fridge. We have a young son which has made being without a fridge extra challenging. We have contacted the Trail Appliance store directly numerous times to get their assistance with our on going problem. Each time we are brushed off and told to call the warranty company again. Our extended warranty will expire soon and we'll have to start paying for our on going fridge repair bills directly. I guess the upside is that we can start using better repair companies and we won't have to wait two weeks for a repair company to come out. Learn from our mistake.....find a retailer who will stand behind their products. Our experience is that once Trail Appliances gets your money you are no longer their problem. read more

This rating has nothing to do with the appliances we bought because you can buy the same product anywhere. We usually do buy here because the selection is good and generally the prices are reasonable. What really makes them stand out is that they have a chef on staff. If you buy an oven (and possibly other appliances) you get a free 2+ hour cooking lesson for two. My wife and I just finished ours today. It was great fun because you basically just sit there while Chef Lawntz Vernon demonstrates how to use your new oven to get the best results. He also provides a lot of great tips (I may never buy another frozen chicken again) that I've never seen in any cookbook. Chef Vernon then has his assistant pass samples around. That ginger chicken was as good as I've had in any restaurant. He's quite entertaining too. Even if you didn't buy an oven, he can often be seen passing around samples to shoppers. He makes the best Mac & Cheese I've ever tasted. So in summary, Trail Appliances' sales people are probably no better or worse than anywhere else (not on commission though) but this is the only appliance store that I know of where a chef will hand you a delicious sample of something that he created while you are shopping and that gives you a useful cooking lesson or demonstration if you do buy an oven. They have a large service and parts department which sometimes comes in handy. There is lots of parking in the back parking lot. Strangely they charge a dollar for a coffee that most business would be happy to give you for free. That's just bizarre. read more

We have been looking for a dishwasher and freezer since both of ours were old and/or broken. Went to Trail Appliances. Unfortunately the freezer they had advertised on their website was out-of-stock (which we discovered is common among appliance stores in Edmonton). We did put a 25% deposit on a freezer and waited. In the meantime, we found a larger freezer at a better price at Costco. However, we did go back to Trail Appliances for our dishwasher. The salesperson was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and did not put any pressure on us. He answered all our questions and left us to make up our mind. We ended up purchasing a dishwasher from Meile. SInce Trail Appliances is only a representative for Meile the delivery and installation process is a bit cumbersome. It's taken a few phone calls, but it looks like everything is set up. We would go back to Trail based on this experience. read more

Worst experience buying an appliance EVER. I highly recommend going anywhere BUT Trail. We ordered a Bosch dishwasher and when it was installed, it didn't work. We had to chase down the sales person and spent hours on hold with Bosch to no avail. Our sales person kept telling us different service companies would come out the repair the unit and would give us their contact information, when we would contact the service company, they would have no idea what we were talking about. After pestering our sales person quite a bit, he finally sent out a Trail Service person (not sure why he didn't do that in the first place...). The service guy was great and fast, but was unable to fix the unit. Trail promised us delivery of a new unit today and no one has shown up and sales person has ghosted us. BUY YOUR APPLIANCE ELSEWHERE! Hi Patricia, If your sales people had been as responsive as you are to bad reviews on YELP, we never would've been in this situation. Additionally, what would go further, would be an apology for our experience, rather than trying to gloss over our what really happened. You're right, someone is here now - it is Friday. No one called us today, as was promised by your sales person, until my husband reached out to your sales manager and then wheels started turning. Saaid, our salesperson continually failed to follow up with us. We continually found that there was inaction on Trail's part, until we repeatedly emailed and called asking for resolution. People should be fairly warned about how unresponsive your company is when an issue comes up with a product. It seems as though you're trying to cover that up in your response. If I could leave a rating of zero, I absolutely would. We were forced to go with trail appliances as that is where our builder has a contract and sent us. We were told that our appliances would arrive by our possession date of mid October and now we are being told January 2021. We have moved in already and not only has the communication been so poor, the whole experience was awful. The salesman knew basically nothing about the products he was showing us, yet we are forced to take all of our dealings through him. At no point did he even mention the possibility of delays, and now when he is telling us this instead of calling or having a conversation he emails us. If you have the option I would highly recommend not buying your appliances through trail appliances. They are not transparent and do not do anything to accommodate delays, and now that the sales are final they claim that there is nothing they can do. read more

We recently bought a Bosch Stove from Trail Appliances. The experience left us feeling ripped-off and grubby. After the range price, the extras started adding up: The environmental fee, $30.00 - we have no quarrel with that. Hook-up, $299.95. Delivery, $89.95. Then between ordering and delivery we had a phone call: we would have to disconnect the old range but Trail would do it for us, $90.00. On our protest, this was reduced to $45.00. We googled disconnecting the old range and, including googling, it took about ten minutes. $90.00? For Hooking-up, the tech was in the house for about an hour. $299.95? During installation a minor malfunction was noticed and the tech asked us to phone the office to arrange servicing. We did, only to learn Trail doesn't do it. The office told us to phone another company. They were too busy at the moment and please call back next week. Fortunately the malfunction corrected itself. While the purchase experience left us feeling ripped-off, the people who delivered the new range, removed the old stove, and the installation tech were all excellent, very careful to avoid damaging floors or counter tops. It was a pleasure having them in the house. We don't buy appliances very often but the next time, after deciding what we want, we will research stockists and customer feedback, get quotes from all for cost of an in-place, functioning appliance and if we are suspicious of the add-ons, explore hiring qualified, self-employed people for delivery and installation. If our experience is typical of the retail appliance sector it would appear to us there's a huge opportunity for new players right now. read more

This is more of an inquiry; I asked two salesmen today why prices were not listed on several appliances. The first person told me that they were "working on it." The second person told me that the manufacturers did not want them to advertise their prices. Really? I could Google the appliances and get a price that way. Also,when I asked why the deep freezes did not list their capacity, I was told that the capacities were listed in the middle of the code. The code, for example, would be XXXXXX102XXXX [X representing letters], so the capacity would be 10.2 square feet. It would/should be very simple to type in the capacities on each appliance's sign. Trail Appliances - where you are a number, not a customer. We bought a new (upgraded) fridge through Trail Appliances for the new house we built through StreetSide Developments. Since moving in on March 4th, the fridge has never worked properly, starting with not holding temperature, defrosting randomly and refreezing. After a service call to fix the issue, it began leaking and filling our fridge drawers with water (at least a few inches deep). Every request for service and help to Trail has been received condescendingly, with staff more interested in blindly quoting policy at me then listening to how this experience has deeply inconvenienced us over the past few weeks, not to mention tainted the joy that should come with purchasing a new house. In the multiple attempts to fix the fridge, we've lost well over $100 - $150 worth of food and hours off work. Given by how they've treated us on the phone, not responded to our emails and ignored voicemails, it would appear that Trail could care less about our experience. They gave us a loaner fridge to tide us through (which they refused to carry beyond our garage so we have to head downstairs everytime we want something from the unit) that keeps popping open and spoiling the food we managed to save from the first few rounds of the original fridge dying. We've accommodated 3 visits from service techs, not to mention the original time it was checked and "fixed" before we moved in. We've been told the issue is everything from an unplugged fan, to a blown compressor, to a blown inverter board, to "move in bumps". We have 0 faith in this appliance, and 0 faith that Trail is going to actually do anything to fix it. Buyer Beware - they are happy to upsell you something pretty but their so-called warranty will do nothing to actually fix any problems you may encounter and you'll pay in time, sweat , tears and stress. read more

Given a three hour window for installation and they arrived when promised. Installation was quick and they took my old appliance away and cleaned up after themselves. Shame on you Trail Appliance for offering people a horrible EXTENDED SERVICE WARRANTY. I use the term service loosely!! My Samsung washer died 4 months after my manufacture warranty and locked my load inside. I thought no worry I bought the extended warranty right. Called Trail, they say we don't do the repair call these other guys who will handle the warranty. Long story short a week and a half for them to be able to come out to diagnose the problem. Guy shows up says it's too expensive to get help to remove starch to open the door and remove my 300+ worth of close. He will order the part (main board cooked). A week later I call to ask where my part is , few more days it's to arrive (pretty sure I could find it locally myself) and than another week to find the time to replace it I'm sure. Been spending 30+ buck on a laundromat plus gas and precious time, THIS IS WHAT I GGOT THE WARRANTY FOR ?? It will be 4 weeks this week of this scam. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY EXTENDED WARRANTY from these guys. Do yourself a favour and buy from COSTCO!!!! I was on the fence and went with TRAIL, NEVER AGAIN will I give them any of my business after this experience , can you imagine if the fridge goes, might as well get a new one because you won't have one for weeks. With COSTCO I have one within days or have it fixed way faster, they also give you an extra year whereas TRAILS so called extended warranty overlaps with the first year of manufacturers hence you only get 1 extra year NOT 2 like they say. He was friendly, full of knowledge and made us a delicious pastry dessert to show off the steam oven's skill. I could not be happier with the service I received at trail. Everyone I spoke with was eager to help. My kitchen aid stove was being weird. It would over cook on one side then under cook on the other. It was frustrating. They tried to have it fixed but I kept doing the same thing. After several attempts whirlpool said they'd replace the stove but I would have to pay for shipping as well as someone to hook up the gas to the appliance again. Lori who is the Assistant Manager parts & Service stepped in. She really went above and beyond for me. She emailed kitchen aid, to try to fix the situation. They refused so made it right and waved any costs... thank you so much for all your help Lori!! read more

We were recommended by a friend to go to Trial Appliance when we were renovating our kitchen. We dealt with Dallas and we found her to be quite knowledgeable about the products and patience as it took us a long time to figure out all the details. Which fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and stove to buy but once we were finished we were completely satisfied with what had been recommended and what we bought, it looks great in our new kitchen. So when we purchased our new convection oven we were given a certificate to go to a cooking class to see how to use our new oven. Our chef that day was Chef Lawntz Vernon,. There were a number of things that we didn't like. 1. Someone would ask a question and his favorite response was my kitchen my way, not really a good answer to someone asking questions. 2. I think that this is the biggest complaint, in the whole 1 1/2 hour course he never washed his hands. At one point he touched his nose then touched the food. Didn't even wash his hands in between. How gross is that! Then he served the food that he had just touched his nose to his finger that touched the meat. As far as I am concerned as a Chef he need to practice better hygiene when it comes to handling food. I am torn on what star to give Trial Appliance as the service was great but Chef Lawntz Vernon touching his nose then the food is the worst, this is why I gave Trial appliances the star rating I did. read more

Awesome customer service. I went in with one dishwasher in mind and was shown two dishwashers. I ended up going with the second dishwasher as liked the features much better. I decided to install it myself which was easy enough. Well for the most part. I made a mistake installing the counter brackets. I called them to see if they have replacements brackets as well as a pair of leveling feet. I would think if you worked it the parts department that you would know what I was talking about instead of asking for more of a description about what legs for the dishwasher/ leveling feet were. The reason why I went back to Trail was because I was told (and saw) the everything was under one roof. Parts, service and sales. I ended up searching the internet and found the parts I needed. I will purchase from Trail again and use there service center. I will no longer be using the parts department. read more

Getting an appointment with the sales woman who handles our builders' account, Sherri, wasn't difficult, but it was all downhill from there. We walked by at least five sales people without ever being greeted to reception to find Sherri. She walked us over to the refrigerators and just stood there as we tried to pick what we wanted. She didn't give any input or information as far as features, reliability, etc. Repeat for dishwasher, stove, laundry, water softener and hood fan. We wanted a Bosch dishwasher with a certain feature so she went and looked up a model number and added it to our order without ever showing us what it looked like or giving us a price. She pushed us towards a certain brand of washer and dryer because Trail can service it. We chose a set from that brand at the time, but ended up changing to a different brand after we learned about the difference in steam functions elsewhere. So after very easily earning her commission, what does she do? She tells us she's going home because she should have been off 10 minutes ago and has someone else enter everything into an invoice. Price matching - holy, that is another beast in and of itself. My husband and I went in to get our appliances price matched to Black Friday prices and we were helped by a manager, Taylor. We forgot to add a garburator to the original order so Taylor said he would add that and get all the price matches taken care of, however they were so busy they would have to enter it into the computer later and email us a copy of the new invoice. Great, except we never got that email because he didn't take down our email address. Luckily we had his business card, so we emailed him. No response. I called Trail a few days later to follow up and they said they would phone me with an update. No return call. Finally I had to go in in person to ask about it. It was all done they claimed, so they printed out the new invoice for me...and they missed the garburator! This company has the business of about 75% of the builders in Edmonton and as such, will never need to actually provide anything that resembles good customer service. If I ever need to buy appliances again, I would never come here. This is a family run business where the family could really care less. read more
