Also that they had hot coffee, tea or water if I would like. As I walked around there store I was filled with joy and knew that I was in the right store to purchase. Finally I noticed a wood stove that caught my eye and I asked a young lady named Amanda for some help. She was so amazing! I was blown away with her knowledge and professionalism. We sat down and she was able to provide me with all of the information that I needed. I was extremely impressed. She gave me a price and with no hesitation I said LOAD ME UP!!!! The following day Nov 25 I started installing my new wood stove and had some questions. I called Fireplace Gallery and asked to speak with Amanda hoping she would know the answers to my questions. Our heat pump wasn't functioning, and because of the reviews on YELP we asked them to send out a…read moreservice technician. The communication beforehand was excellent. The technician arrived on time, was courteous, professional and seemed to be competent. After about 30-45 minutes he told us that we needed to replace the heat pump and that it could not be repaired. We paid the service fee of about $200 and asked that they send out someone who could give us a estimate to replace the heat pump. 2 days later another technician came out, and gave us an estimate. Again, he was on time, courteous, professional and friendly. I mentioned the need to replace the heat pump to a friend who lives in our building. He mentioned another company and so we called them to get an estimate on replace the heat pump. They came out, and looked at it, asked some questions, did some maintenance and the heat pump is working! No replacement needed! Getting this 2nd opinion saved us literally thousands of $. We are so grateful for the other company and will probably not call Acclaimed! again for a repair - since either their technicians are not competent, or they tried to sell us something we didn't need. After I posted this review, the owner of the company apologized for the misdiagnosis and offered to refund the initial service fee. He was very polite, listening and we had a good conversation. He handled this with grace and so much better than other owners. I'll raise my rating to a 2 from a 1 because of this call. It was appreciated.

The technician was personable and arranged for a technician to come next day. I'm accustomed to repairpersons arriving at the end of the time window but Ed arrived right in the middle. In less than two hours he found our problem - a failed electrolytic capacitor. Great to have working air con on these hot July days. I might have given Acclaimed the full 5 stars but I thought they were slightly pricy. On the other hand they did respond quickly to solve our problem. Maybe sometimes you do get what you pay for.

The gentleman I spoke with was very apologetic and asked if it would work for someone to come in 2 hours from then. The two men arrived a couple moments before the new scheduled time and introduced themselves. They took a look at my fireplace and immediately let me know that it is not safe to use it. He explained what the problems are and suggested what I could do going forward. He did not charge me for their time and thanked me for calling them. If I could give a negative star rating I would…read more We hired Hugh the owner of Capital Chimney Service at the beginning of May to fix the flashing around our chimney as it was leaking. Hugh was the one that did the work. He seemed very knowledgeable, advised me a lifetime warranty on the cap and warranty on the flashing until we get the shingles replaced as he cannot guarantee what the next person does, made sense to me. And the price was too good to be true. I should have known then. He fixed the cap of my chimney first. He had to do it 3 times as it kept cracking. I put it off as his young helper did not mix the concrete right, or it rained the night he poured it. Then it was time to do the flashing. In the quote I have he put down that he will replace all the rotten wood, seal around the chimney 3 feet, install new shingles for the ones he took out and fix the flashing. He did not replace the rotten wood. I was told that it is not bad and could just be left as is. I'm not a roofer/expert so I took his word. Around mid-May he was done. Not even a week later the roof is still leaking, this time there is also a new area that it is leaking from, still within the area that he did all the work. Capital Chimney Service came back to look at it and said it was condensation and to call him when we tear out the ceiling so he can see from the inside what is going on. At this point he said to me "don't worry whatever it is I will fix it." Because of the new leak we had to tear out the walls as water was running down the wall and was wet enough to push your finger through it. We tore out the ceiling and walls, still leaking, not condensation. He came by again and told my husband that he does not believe it is leaking. My husband went on the roof with the garden hose and the roof started to leak. I cannot remember how many times we had Capital Chimney Service back at our place, but I know he only came once to try and fix it. He glued down some shingles and did nothing else. Roof still leaking. At this point I have had enough and got some quotes to get my roof fixed. He got very upset when we told Hugh we had 2 journeymen roofers look at our roof and advise us that the work was not done correctly. I have a very detailed report from one company with pictures that shows me what is wrong. The wrong materials were used and the installation was also done incorrectly. The way Capital Chimney Service instilled the flashing is actually making the water run under the shingles and into the house. We told Capital Chimney Service about it and he said that the roofers are wrong and he did the job right. We had enough of this and on July 20, 2020 the last time Hugh was at our house to "assess" the problem, my husband said that we would like the money back for the flashing job as it will cost us twice as much to get fixed correctly and he can keep the money for the cap. Capital Chimney Service told us that our warranty is now VOID and that he never wants to see us again. Capital Chimney Service has refused to give us our money back, he deleted a post my husband made on Capital Chimney Service facebook account, he has blocked our number and blocked us on facebook and is not returning our texts. We asked him for his company insurance information and he refused to give it to us. I am not asking for the extra money we have had to put in for glue, roof vents that we bought, the tearing out of the walls and insulation that will have to be put back. I do not recommend Capital Chimney Service as they are very unprofessional, is not knowledgeable and does not stand behind their work. And my roof still leaks until the experts come to fix it.

Unfortunately going through legal channels will be incredibly time consuming, expensive, aggravating and stressful, so as much as it pains us, we've decided to cut our losses. If we could go back in time, we would have just kept looking and skipped all this... it has been an expensive nightmare.
