No matter what type of day I was having, when I walked through that door I was immediately greeted with smiles and people who loved me. Instead of viciously competing with other girls, we were happy for each other and understood we each had different strengths. This is not a typical ballet studio. In addition to ballet I learned African, Brazilian, hula, fosse, tango and any other style Lisa throws at you! And more importantly, Applegate draws the dancer as well as the audience in with dances to Disney music. These performances are extravagant and captivating! As for the director Lisa, she will always hold a special place in my heart. She's a fantastic teacher, has more artistic ability than anybody I know and can throw a great Halloween party! Not a bad seat in the house. Only complaint was the orchestra/pit. It's under the stage and the actors have to rely on a camera broadcasting to a TV behind the audience to keep an eye on the conductor. For a show with such a technically tricky score as Into the Woods, it proved difficult to keep the cast on key and tempo. Also, I think the musicians made some frequent errors whixh pulled me out of the magic and pushed me into "come on, you can do it" anxious mode. That was the only bummer, though.

Witchcraft! Every lesson was ridiculously fun. One minute we're laughing, the next he's casually fixing things I didn't even know my voice was doing wrong. He explains stuff in a way that actually makes sense, which is rare, and he somehow makes practicing feel less like a chore and more like a main character montage. The improvement was REAL. Better control, more confidence, stronger vocals things I fully did not think were possible for me before working with him. If you want to improve your singing while having a great time and not being emotionally destroyed in the process, James is the guy. If you want to sound better, feel more confident, and leave lessons smiling instead of stressed, James is your guy. 10/10 would sing off key in front of him again.

I thought it would be hard to go back to work and put my young children in daycare, but they were both so happy. I felt great knowing that they were having an amazing time at school. My older child comes home most days with layers of paint on his shirt and sunscreen on his arms, and we love it. The kids spend so much time outside, and the teachers are always setting up awesome activities for them. The play yards and the classrooms are beautiful. I have not seen teacher turnover since enrolled, which is a good sign. Their outdoor area is awesome. I love that they teach the kids about gardening and let them have lots of outside time, digging in the sand and dirt, getting messy and exploring, building their immune system and just being kids. Learning about growing food and tasting peas off the vine. It's such an enriching environment and my daughter has learned so much and developed her language skills (English and Spanish!) and vocabulary about bugs and colors and all that, as well as motor skills and social skills. I like that we get reports about her development and digital picture albums and blogs, it helps us feel involved. I see so many pictures of my girl painting and playing with water and making crafts and dancing! Right now due to COVID, they are being very careful with all adults and older kids wearing masks and sanitization and temperature checks every day. We also get updates about if anyone is testing and the results (anonymously). We toured lots of places before deciding on Peregrine West and will stay here as we love it. A major major benefit is the made from scratch balanced meals they give to the kids every day. It's nice to not need to worry about packing lunches and snacks. The teachers tell me if my kid tries veggies all the time. All I can say is they take good care of my daughter and I highly recommend!

I had heard Kaia was a great place for women of all she's and fitness levels. It was close to my house. Perfect! I stopped by at a time when there were no classes going on. There was one instructor there and she barely made eye contact with me when I entered. It was clear throughout our exchange that she was really not interested in answering my questions. She kept referring me to the website. It was almost as though I had annoyed her by coming in and checking it out. To be perfectly honest, I was pretty disappointed. It was pretty clear that if this was going to be my instructor, I would not get the encouragement I would need. Sadly, I decided I wasn't going to come back.

I cannot say enough about Kaia Fit Davis. It has been under new ownership since the beginning of…read morethe year and it became the best place to exercise in Davis. In the past two years I tried almost every gym in Davis (I went as far as Natomas) but I stopped looking for anything else after my first day at Kaia. They have all kinds of classes, and instructors help you modify each exercise as needed. Nobody cares how you look, what you are wearing and your fitness level. This is a group of women of all ages who come to challenge themselves (whatever level of fitness they are at) and want to enjoy their hour of exercise. Everyone was very engaging from day one at Kaia. This is so refreshing! I made real friends. This is an amazing place, with wonderful instructors and owners.
