I hesitated about leaving this review because in a crazy time like this I think we can all benefit from more compassion. However, my recent experiences at Barbara Ellick left a bad taste in my mouth. As someone who has worked in customer service for over 10 years, I consider myself sympathetic to those in my profession. Having grown up on The Main Line and lived here for over 30 years, I've always heard about snobbery around here but never experienced it myself until my recent interaction at Barbara Ellick. I called to ask about a piece of jewelry that was not on the website but that I had seen in a previous visit in the store. Amy made me feel like she was doing me a favor by answering my questions, asked me if I checked their website, I had in their Instagram, I had as well. I maybe asked five questions about this piece of jewelry over the course of our phone call and Amy's responses and attitude made me feel like she had better things to do. She was very snippy and rude. For the record I had my eye on a necklace style that's available from Roberto Coin but was trying to shop locally for the holidays. Given this experience I've adjusted my review from 5 stars to 1 and will never shop here again. read more
