Co Chic looked like another women's boutique, but what I really noticed was a Hammitt bag that I saw in the window, and made a mental note to myself to return another time when my kids were not with me. So I went back today, and was pleasantly pleased that they had quite a selection of Hammitts, including the "Davis" bag that I had I seen on Hammitt's website recently that I was curious about. (It's really helpful to see handbags and purses in person so you can get a sense of the size and the feel but not many retailers sell Hammitts in this area.) Tori, the owner, was at the register and she could not have been nicer.

Donna took one look at my face and said, "I have the perfect dress for you." I'm between 12-14 and am working through some insecurities, so when she said that, I said "yeah, right." Donna told me I deserved to feel delicious in my dress, so I tried it on. My God. I looked and felt like a mermaid Goddess. The dress is a beautiful mermaid/trumpet style gown that hugged my curves in all the right places (I'll update with pictures soon!). It was affordable and very well-made. Normally, I would've walked right by it. Thank God I listened to Donna's advice. She is honest, smart, so so stylish, and she sees and celebrates the beauty of everyone who walks into her boutique. I felt like Cinderella and Donna was the fairy godmother (the Brandy/Whitney Houston version with the sassy and fabulous Godmother!). I could go on about our wonderful, h uplifting conversation, but I'll end my review with this: Stop in and say hi. See what's there. I guarantee you will leave feeling "delicious!"

They have some pretty excellent clothing, bags, and accessories. I'm always put off when they try to put me in a dress size that is two up from what I normally wear (this has honestly happened three times). I would understand this if the larger dress actually fit, but I'm always swimming in it instead. Be ready to spend some serious cash if you come here. This place is definitely pricey. It is usually justified by the quality and brands of the clothing, but not always. Similar pricepoint and selection to Nordstrom or Lord and Taylor. They carry some of the same stuff as these department stores too. It's worth a look if you're willing to spend good money for your clothes.

What's most frustrating is that there was no real accountability or effort to make up for the inconvenience. Wedding dress shopping is supposed to be a meaningful experience.
