I have a mixed review of this boutique…read more The particular sales person (Mirella) who worked with me was really lovely, as was the seamstress Christine . It seemed clear to me however that the owner of the boutique, who had initially been extremely friendly over the phone, was not particularly interested in my business. Although she had originally told me on the phone when I made an appointment that she would be happy to help me select a dress, when I arrived she seemed cold and disinterested and handed me off to another salesperson . She then approached a second customer who seemed lovely - and was a size 0 for sure. I have heard that this is the reputation of the boutique, mostly catering to the size 0 and size 2 set. I feel very happy with my beautiful (expensive) dress . Again when I returned to pick it up today after it was fitted, the owner was fairly perfunctory with me. She didn't ask if I was happy with the dress that I was going to be wearing to my son's wedding. When one has a special event coming up and goes to a lovely boutique like this to pick something special out, one wants to feel like a special customer.

In a crazy twist when I was working in DC - a can of white paint that spilled on my full length black mink sheering. I was mortified when I called Hal. He listened with care and told me not to panic, then instructed me to send him the coat immediately- without trying to remove the paint. The coat was shipped to Stupp Furs and voila!!!! My coat was professionally cleaned and recovered. The coat was amazingly resuscitated, and the client lived happily ever after. I've been with Stupp Furs for over 14 years.
