I've never rated a hobbie shop, but this place seemed really neat. It's located right in the…read moredowntown and was walkable from the Colebrookdale railroad. There are several aisles of model train accessories, scenery, train sets and tracks of several different scale types. The prices seemed in line/a tad higher than most places I've shopped. They had an area with Thomas trains and a small end cap with a Thomas wooden train set kept my youngest occupied while we checked out the rest of their offering. They had a couple aisles of models - ships, military planes, cars etc., rocket sets, RC cars, supplies like paint and tools and some games like Warhammer which I'm not familiar with at all. I enjoyed stepping back in time while I walked around and love it that small operations like this are still around. We bought some Thomas items that were fairly priced and are happy with them. Give these guys a look if your in the area and support small businesses!

That's half of what my wedding rings cost & the other ring only cost $99. These people are smoking crack! Plus the salesperson kept trying to sell me other jewelry while I was there. No thanks, I'll find a more reasonable place. In response to the comment posted by business owner. I didn't say all the rings were $99, I said one ring was , it was on sale. The pricing was half of what my wedding set cost. Also, I never said your employee wasn't nice, so don't put words in my mouth. I didn't have to be shown the broken gallery, I knew it was there. You're pricing is still ridiculous.

I rarely ever write bad reviews, but I want to bring attention to the yelp community about…read moreMichelle's Jewelry studio. In March I had a day off and decided to go shopping with some of my friends to purchase a ring. After shopping for about 30 minutes I found a ring I really liked. It was "sterling silver" with a black gem on it. I had wore that ring for my everyday jewelry, and unfortunately about a week ago I was at work and went to pick up a hotel pan to wash it and the whole ring bent and was not fit-able on my finger any longer after that. I paid over 45-50$ for it but did not have receipt with me when returning it, because I never would think a "sterling silver" ring for that much would ever bend from picking up a 1 pound hotel pan, knowing its every day wearing jewelry. When I asked to return it or to receive store credit, the lady FIRST told me I would be getting store credit for it, but then called the owner and then switched her story, and blamed it on me and saying I'm the reason the ring was bent in half. She told me it looked like it was ran over by a car. Which definitely did not happen and she did not believe my story about the ring, which is unfortunate and unprofessional. At the end of the day it's very frustrating that there was nothing worked out, knowing I work hard for my money and wanted to reward myself and now that is down the drain. I wish the business owners were more understanding. Will not be coming back and will not recommend.

Also with a name like Diving Cat Studio what the store is is a bit oblique...is it a pet store? A gallery? OK, go with it. Yeah, they were spot-on. Diving Cat is a seriously eclectic, funky, new-age-y, hippie store with lots of cool jewelry, home items, art, candles, soaps, perfumes, statues, even mobiles and prisms. The store does a very good job grouping items by category - Namaste and Yoga in one area, Judacia in another, items related to cats, items related to dogs, mystical items, etc. Yeah, just my kind of place. The store has a good deal of inventory and it's not very large, but it's not uncomfortable unless it's very crowded. They even have "Honey" seats outside for partners who are waiting for the other to finish oohing and aahing. Staff were nice, unobtrusive but helpful when needed. I got some very delicious smelling perfume in a steampunk - cool flask and a badass name (OK badass for a mid-life Main Line Mom).
