While I was looking at sets of 4 coasters for $155 (not a typo- one hundred fifty five dollars), I thought - wow, I want to remember these when they get donated to Goodwill some day. Diving Cat is a seriously eclectic, funky, new-age-y, hippie store with lots of cool jewelry, home items, art, candles, soaps, perfumes, statues, even mobiles and prisms. The store does a very good job grouping items by category - Namaste and Yoga in one area, Judacia in another, items related to cats, items related to dogs, mystical items, etc. Yeah, just my kind of place. The store has a good deal of inventory and it's not very large, but it's not uncomfortable unless it's very crowded. They even have "Honey" seats outside for partners who are waiting for the other to finish oohing and aahing. Staff were nice, unobtrusive but helpful when needed. I got some very delicious smelling perfume in a steampunk - cool flask and a badass name (OK badass for a mid-life Main Line Mom). It's in 'downtown' Phoenixville, on the same block as the Colonial Theater. Parking is street and tight, better to find a lot just off the 'main drag' and walk. If you go during the week you might luck out with free two hour parking in the afternoon. She mentioned there is parking lot close to the store for 25 cents an hour. The workers are readily available to assist customers with accessing hard to reach items and offer to bring purchases to the front of the store to be held for you. Everyone I encountered was friendly, pleasant and helpful. This is set up similar to an "Antique Mall" but is much nicer than that. There are many rooms and it's so much fun to explore. At first I figured I would only be window shopping because some of the prices knocked me off my feet. I am a bargain hunter and have access weekly to some pretty amazing finds at my local farmers market. I get things for very reasonable prices. It is extremely well organized, with so many nooks and crannies, we needed a couple of hours to appreciate and soak in all of the wonderful memories this spacious store gifted to us! Vintage jewelry, lamps, books, vinyl / cd's, seasonal decor from days gone by, collectibles, military items, and so many more interesting, unique offerings ~ it would be impossible to list everything here. There are also beautiful works of art, greeting cards at one of the shop's entrances ~ they are stunning pieces if you are looking for a one-of-a-kind gift. This amazing shop is super clean, everything is displayed in such a lovely, caring way and the prices are very reasonable.
