This place must be one of London's best-hidden gems. It's in the middle of an industrial estate in the wastelands of North Acton (about 2 minutes walk from North Acton tube), but well worth a pilgrimage.
Actually, it's not so strange to find it on this industrial estate: most of the businesses nearby seem to be Lebanese: bakers, falafel and mezze manufacturers. Presumably this unassuming café (with its own huge bread oven) serves the pick of the bunch from these surrounding businesses.
There's an extensive menu, featuring all manner of kebabs, wraps, mezze, Lebanese pizzas, fatoush etc. Prices are a little expensive in kebab shop terms (from around £3 for a wrap to £6 for a full meal) but the freshness and quality of the food is worth more than this small premium.
Layout is pretty basic: there's a tented outside area (where you can smoke a hookah) or solid canteen-like long tables inside. Service is similarly basic. But here, it's all about the food! read more
