It's tucked into this alleyway, and then you have to go into this inconspicuous red door, so it's got kinda like a 1930s speakeasy feel to it. The inside's really nice. Spacious but intimate at the same time. There's the bar, scattered tables and some booths. Most of the furnishings are black, and the light's kept low to set the mood. Which I guess is true of most bars, but it works especially well here. Their alcohol selection is decently vast, with everything from your generic cheap beers to Gray Goose vodka. They also carried my all-time favorite "beer," Woodchuck Amber Hard Cider, so props to them. I know, I know, it's not really beer, but haters gonna hate (it's 5% abv anyway). Anyway, their mixed drinks are a little on the pricier side, but they're great. I had the British Bulldog, which was on point. I wish I could remember what all was in it, but whatever it was, the end result was delicious. Don't worry, you won't get mugged walking the few feet into the alley, so go ahead and check them out.

The bar has been in operation for years and probably wasn't added to Yelp to keep it a local secret. The Farmhouse Lounge was converted from an actual farmhouse previously owned by the owner's grandparents. When you drive onto the gravel parking lot please drive slowly and watch-out for the chickens, ducks, peacocks, and kitties. As it formally was a farmhouse there are numerous rooms to sit inside, a bar area, an outdoor beer garden, and they often host events with comedians, live music, sand volleyball, and scavenger hunts. They have a large beer selection, typically in cans or bottles, not draft beer. They also have different cocktail specials, seltzers, wine, and rotate in newly released items regularly. Drink prices are very reasonable. They do have a limited food menu of pizzas, mozzarella sticks, etc., however know that food orders do take some time to prepare. Additionally, the Cryin' Creek Candleshop is located inside where you can purchase handmade woodwick candles, t-shirts, jewelry, wine, preserved jars of goods, and other gifts. The candles make this one of the nicest smelling bars you have ever been to. They can do custom orders for some merchandise too. Also take a look around each of the rooms to see the history from the photos and signs. Highly recommended making a stop here if you are anywhere in the local area! The regulars and bar staff will welcome you like family.

I've been to a few Husker games at Memorial Stadium, and been to The Railyard on a game day a few…read moretimes as well, and let me tell you - being at the Railyard on a game day is the next best thing to actually being in the stadium. The hustle and bustle of the crowd in The Railyard is full of excitement and camaraderie. You watch the games on giant screens hung around The Railyard, and each time the Huskers score or make a great play, the crowd erupts and you may get a drink or two splashed on or around you in the hubbub (just part of the fun, get ready to get dirty and stepped on). Speaking of spilled drinks, that is one plus of watching a game at The Railyard vs. in person at the stadium - there are plenty of alcoholic drinks to enjoy, if that's your thing - and plenty of restaurants and bars around for nonalcoholic drinks and snacks too. You don't have to stick to Dr. Pepper and Valentinos here! (Memorial Stadium did recently lift their ban on alcohol sales in the stadium but that won't be in effect for a while, and you will pay an arm and a leg.) My husband actually had his bachelor party at The Railyard, watching a game and then hitting a few nearby bars. He said it was a great way to spend a day with his pals, and would recommend doing that to anyone who's a Husker fan, looking for a more chill bachelor party idea. You can eat at one of The Railyard restaurants with a patio and watch the game on the giant screens that way, or find a spot with your group and stake your claim in the middle of the yard (don't worry, it's concrete, not grass). Whichever way you decide to do it, I definitely say you should catch a game at The Railyard for the unique experience!
