Imagine us, three mid-30's women walking by this place, and then a big group of boisterous Italian men waving and yelling at us to come by at eat at that establishment. We actually walked past and did what we needed to do and then when passing by again we went in to grab some food.
Commence the yelling and the hoopla again. How fun! They were saying "american girls! beauty! come in!" and the like. Honestly, we felt like we were walking into a family's home. These older gentlemen all came by and talked to us, and just made us feel welcome. They even brought a younger man to say hello to us to try to hook us up with him lol.
This is a really interesting restaurant. Cute outdoors with a tree for shade- felt like a little garden party. Full menu, full of pizzas, and salads and the like, and drinks. Of course we ordered our wine and a few aperol spritz and ordered some pizzas. We mistakenly ordered a pizza that had no cheese and only the red marinara sauce (we did not read carefully and perhaps were a bit tipsy already) but let me tell you, that marinara pizza was the BEST pizza we had in italy, and for 2 weeks, went from Como down to Sorrento eating everything we could. I'm a cheese gal, but I'd choose that marina pizza over anything else. The sauce itself was impeccable.
Due to the loud welcome we got from the welcome committe, we were able to talk to some other people from the states and from the UK. It was a cute communal traveling moment. We ended up taking photos with Mr. Orlando himself and his friends. I'll always remember this day and will think of it fondly. read more
