I mean, I'm in Italy where the food is incredible and a big part of the experience. The outer shell of the layered clam shaped shell was nice and crispy; the ricotta cream flavored with orange citron inside was super creamy, slightly sweet and absolute perfection! In Italy it's common to have sfogiatelle and other pastry for breakfast but we always had sfogiatelle for dessert so I would get one for a late afternoon treat along with a cappuccino. Heavenly. My friends enjoyed croissants, cannoli and gelato, many went back daily for the gelato. They also serve meals - panini, pizza, salad, pasta - but we were there strictly for pastries and gelato.

Nothing special about the pizza in particular. Found it to be a bit doughy. Yes, I like the Neapolitan pizzas. We took the Cheese and tomatoes back to the hotel. It's is apparent that many other tourists dine here as well. Two tables were filled with American tourist ordering Hamburgers with fries. Not here to rave about the food at Bar Ercolano nor the service. You need to flag down wait staff for service as well as to get the check. It's about the ambiance here. It's all about people watching while enjoying that glass of wine with American music blasting in the background. One night we passed by Bar Ercolano and there was live musicians outside and people dancing in the street.

The beautiful citrus trees and plants really keep it cooler on a warm day, it's like a sanctuary from the heat. We ordered the seafood appetizer, which was great! But the octopus was a little rubbery on some pieces. The char was nice. We also ordered cured meats and cheeses to snack on, and it was wonderful! I only wish we had more prosciutto. The day and time we walked in was slow, so our service was good. Overall, I'd say it's a good stop for a snack or something small, but the ambiance is the main draw.

The cheese pasta that I had (forgot what it was called) was AMAZING! Just such a unique flavor and I'm so glad that our server recommended it to us. What made us come back was how kind the servers were towards us. We were waiting to sit down for around 5-10 minutes and a table became available. We wanted to wait for the servers to seat us because common courtesy and whatnot. However, a family that just got there had their feral teenage child BOLT towards the available table that we would have probably been sat at because we were next. We tried to tell them to wait for the servers to clean the table and to inform them that they were cutting in front of us and others as well. They pretended not to understand us. The servers noticed this and went out of their way to help us find an available table. They also apologized profusely to us and the other parties waiting as that family jumped the line. They went out of their way to make our experience awesome. I also LOVED my lemon slushy. The gelato they served us at the end was delicious and an unexpected surprise. The incident with the family was not at all their fault yet they took responsibility for it and made sure we were satisfied. The food was amazing and we came back again to try even more menu items (which were amazing) and this time no table snatching families with unruly children! I came back on my last night to say goodbye to our servers. They still remembered us and made us feel so special.
