It is…read moredefinitely in a very touristy area and has plenty of touristy drinks and treats, but honestly, what we had was really good. I got a lemon mojito, and we also got the lemon sorbet served inside half of a lemon. Both were cold, refreshing, and exactly what we needed on a very hot day walking around Capri. The lemon sorbet especially felt like the perfect thing to get while you are on the island. The shop itself is basically built into the wall along the path and is shaded by vines, so it actually has a really beautiful little setting. The workers were working hard and spoke enough English to make ordering easy. There was a pretty long line when we arrived, although it seemed to come and go pretty quickly. The biggest downside is that the line can block a good portion of the walkway and create a little bit of chaos with everyone trying to get through. It is definitely a bit of a tourist trap, but sometimes touristy things are touristy for a reason. Everything we got was good, refreshing, and fit the whole Capri lemon aesthetic perfectly. I would stop here again on a hot day.

We were told that this shop was the original that created the famous limoncello that Capri is known for today, and the flavors of their limoncello were unreal! Fresh juices, perfectly balanced with sugar and finely crushed ice made for a true refreshing drink. We also tried some of their sorbets, and selected the Lemon and Watermelon from their vast selection. Again, the quality here is unmatched by anywhere else we've tried in our lives. We were pleasantly surprised by this unassuming roadside stand off the beaten path. The workers here are hard-working and friendly. They spoke some English, which made it easier for us to order. If we ever visit Capri again, we'll for sure come back here!

The ambiance was fast paced, but efficient with the sweet smell of baked items in the air. We ordered a sugar coated donut with price what you would expect for a place in a high tourist area. All in all, a good bakery with an assortment of items to satisfy any sweet tooth.

It's located on the walking street which leads to Sorrento's Town Square and is well visited by tourists. We visited in October when the crowds were low. We walked right in, were created warmly by the staff, received some free samples, and ordered our gelato. We received it right then and enjoyed it - it was fantastic! Some of the other reviews indicated long waits, staff was not warm, etc. We did not see that as I suspect, we were there when it was not as busy. We really enjoyed it!

The fruit flavors are seasonal as they only use the freshest fruits in season. If you have food sensitivities there are tons to choose from without gluten or milk or nuts. Today I joined their gelato-making class with an epicurean tour group, and afterward we all got to taste their creations. The sorbetto al limone was bright, zesty, and incredibly refreshing -- pure sunshine. The mango was silky and bursting with tropical flavor. The coconut sorbetto was rich and creamy, like a tropical vacation in every delectable spoonful. The service is friendly, the vibe is fun ! My friend let me taste his gelato and it was the absolute star the Crocante Amarena. Dark, juicy cherries folded into velvety gelato, studded with crunchy almond pieces and ribbons of intense dark chocolate. The balance of flavors and textures is pure perfection. Everything was super creamy, intensely flavorful, and clearly made with passion and top-quality ingredients. If you're in Sorrento, do yourself a favor and come here. David Gelateria isn't just a gelateria -- it's a little piece of heaven. It is was started by his grandfather in 1957. The place is adorable, restroom is clean. Highly, highly recommended!

The gelato was still good and it seemed to be well-made but personal preference hindered my satisfaction with the taste. Originally I had entered the gelateria with the intention of trying their ricotta miele & noci flavor that was advertised on the menu outside, however it was unavailable. I would love to come back to taste that, or any of their other unique specials, because those all sound very good. Update: That summer I went back to try the brioche con gelato, which I believe was 3.5€. The brioche had three different scoops of gelato inside: ambrogio, stracciatella, and cioccolato sul lago. They all tasted great! I liked the contrast between the hot/warm bread and the cold gelato, but I thought that brioche was a little dry- although maybe I'm just not much of a brioche person! Still, it was worth it just for the gelato. My friend and I sat outside to eat ours and as we were about to leave, the man who served us came out with a cup of strawberry, mango, and lemon flavors. He gave it to us for free saying "one more taste". Those flavors were all very good as well! He explained that he makes them himself. That man was just so sweet and friendly :)
