** Update: I just had my first pedicure here and was sooo delighted to find that they use a plastic liners in their foot tubs and change it to a new one for each customer! Ive been to many, many nail spas in my years and this is the first time I've seen this! I've always avoided pedicures as much as possible because of the risk of contracting nail fungus which is highly contagious, especially if foot tubs aren't sanitized properly. I'm so happy I don't have to worry about that anymore...I'm relieved and thankful that this spa takes the small steps to ensure a safe and healthy experience here. I'm definitely a customer for life! I discovered their first location (Mlovely Nails) about 4 years ago. This new salon is beautiful and so clean! I've moved to Thornhill recently but will always make the drive all the way down here - so worth it! read more

The ambience is wonderful but u fortunately, the service and products are lackluster at best. I got a manicure and pedicure from this salon and they left almost every one of my 20 nails jagged. I can promise you that within the next 24 hours, at least one of these jagged nails will turn into a snag nail. In addition, most of the polishes they offer on their back wall are clearly old with separation and unopenable tops. I picked what I thought was a newer polish. After all 20 nails were painted I noticed pebbles and weird chunkiness that wasn't from my natural nail on 16/20 of my nails. The technician said this the result of the polish's age. The technician's tone indicated that she anticipated this result which felt irresponsible because no one should have their nails look like this after just getting them done. Another concern of mine is their topcoat that they put on. I have been painting my nails at home for years now and I've used many different topcoats and I understand what a good topcoat should be. A good topcoat should offer a glass like finish and the person applying it should add a thick layer to ensure that everything underneath is safely secured and won't get any dents or weird damage. At the salon, they put the thinnest layer of topcoat I have ever seen and after 45 minutes of letting it dry the topcoat still easily dented. The salon has potential but needs to recognize that quality must be paramount. read more

I finally found a normal nail place near my work!!! Clean, spacious and excellent customer service. I had Chris do my nails, he did it so quickly and shaped them perfectly. He asked me if I was in a rush and exactly how much time I had... the salon even had a diagram of different nail shapes. I asked lost of questions and he was able to explain the differences between BIO seaweed gel, dip powder and shellac. He helped me find a colour when he saw me struggling. He checked to make sure my nails were the same length and polished each small corner. They charged me $10 for a polish change, I would definitely go back!! Chris did my nails just as good as "Get Gelled" nearby, but he did it in half the time and charged $10 as opposed to $25. He didn't make a fuss about cutting my nails vs. filing... :) read more

This nail salon is just as the yelp 3-stars suggests "A-OK". I have been here a few times for regular mani/pedis. It is a decent budget nail salon, nothing fancy but clean and friendly. I have been able to stop by on a weekday without an appointment. If you're going on evenings/weekends it's better to call ahead (even if you're only calling an hour or so ahead). The colour selection is decent and the service is efficient, no-nonsense. They are usually pretty fast and do a good job. Some staff are a bit overzealous with the cuticle clipping, so just speak up if you feel that they are going too far! (It happened to me once and my nail bed bled a tiny bit, ouch!! But they were super apologetic). I like that the place is spacious and airy. They also do free parking in the building if you are staying for a while (e.g. getting multiple services). read more

Had a good pedicure experience. The massage chairs are comfy, the foot baths are nice and hot (and clean - they use plastic liners), and they have a nice selection of OPI and Essie polishes. I got the basic pedicure ($25) because I didn't really need/care for a foot massage or callous removal. The nail technician was great - good attention to detail, carefully wiped up any excess polish, trimmed and filed my nails nicely, and didn't pinch my cuticles. I didn't feel rushed at all. After painting, she let me sit there for another 10 min so my toes could dry, then she finished it off with some sort of nail drying spray (like a hairspray). She even helped me back into my sandals to make sure nothing got smudged. I would go back again for sure and maybe get a manicure! I heard great things about Brandon so I booked with him for my first visit but I was late and had to be seen by someone else, totally my fault so I was okay with it. The other tech was friendly and extremely gentle with the drill. Everything was great until the end. I noticed that the polish looked grainy. I asked him and he looked a bit annoyed and said he didn't see anything, I even asked a fellow patron and she agreed with him so I figured I must be seeing things. I paid and left. On my way home I really started to notice the bumps and scratches. I can only best describe them as looking like I did them myself with regular polish then went to bed and smudged them. I regret not listening to myself and insisting it was a poor job while I was there. I showed a few people and their reaction was the same: "did you paint these yourself?" or "is that regular polish". The place is gorgeous and people were nice but the more I look at them the more disappointed I feel. I just think either the application was done poorly or the powder had a defect. I came here recently for their essential mani-pedi combo ($50). The decor of the salon is very bright and modern. The facility is very clean and their machines look new and well cared for. It's very large and there were a good number of people there but they were able to accommodate me even though it was a walk-in. I was satisfied overall but did not feel there was much value add in getting the essential combo versus their basic mani-pedi which is only $35 and probably a better deal. Maybe because I did go a bit later in the day but I felt they were starting to rush me to leave towards the end even though my nails had not fully dried. The actual application of the polish was done well but I felt they did not do a good job filing my nails which were uneven in several places. They did fix some of them for me after I pointed it out but I was a bit disappointed. read more

Takes a bit to choose colours in shellac as they don't always bring you the full selection. I have had my nails done all over Europe and Australia but nothing compares to this place. I came in 3 weeks ago and Kim did such a wonderful job I had to come back. I can't speak on fingernails but I had a pedicure a few weeks ago and it was the worst experience I've ever had. 1) The pricing for the pedicure made absolutely no sense. The basic pedicure doesn't include cleaning of the cuticles or a foot massage with lotion which is pretty standard. 2) I ended up going with the pedicure above the basic one and it was a waste of money. Their pricing seems over priced and unrealistic for what they're offering. I can go to a regular nail salon and get a full pedicure, foot stone massage or hot rag and lotion and proper cuticle cleaning. There was a lady beside me also getting a pedicure and based on what I could see her experience was mortifying. The technician kept cutting her skin and she told me it took over 2 hours to remove shellac from her toes! Ridiculous. The water was cold, my feet weren't soaked before cleaning cuticles etc and when I asked her to remove an ingrown from one of my toenails she struggled. I will say they were very pleasant. However when I raised my concerns to the manager he smiled and brushed it off saying "she's my best technician and has been working with me for over 15 years" if you cannot remove a basic ingrown or cut my nails properly then you shouldn't be in this kind of business. I just had a terrible experience at this place, which was recommended to me by someone I know. It took an hour and a half to get a shellac manicure done and after all was said and done , she didn't even apply lotion to my hands, which I would assume is a basic thing. My cuticles are a mess. I honestly think she forgot to work on them. The price was fine, but the work was shodddy and it took at lwast half hour for her to remove the shellac thatbI had on previously I honestly think it was just the technicians that worked on my hands and feet, as I saw others get clean utensils and had their feet massaged and yes, lotioned. I get mani and pedis done regularly, so I expected at least somethingm At the end of the very long manicure, i asked her why there was no lotion, she replied that I had a "basic manicure". This place is owned and run by Brandon who has been doing my gel nails from his other location for 10 years if not longer. He is the best of the best in Bio Sculpture Gel Nails. Amazing really. I am NEVER disappointed with him. I moved 2 hours away from Toronto and tried to get my nails done there locally, no where near as good as Brandon. I ended up driving the 2 hours to Toronto every few weeks to see him! I just went to this new location this past week. It's beautiful. You won't be disappointed in the services nor the spa itself. This a fabulous upscale modern nail & spa salon and it is reasonably priced!!! ( basic mani-pedi is only $35) Besides the beautiful decor the entire spa is so clean! They have amazing massage chairs and I love the fact that they use plastic liners in their foot tubs and change it for each customer! I've never encountered that before. They are very well staffed and have lots of stations so if you want to walk in for a mani or pedicure, they can accommodate you. I do bio gel nails and they are the best in the city. So I've gone to Bar a couple of times and now I will not go back. I went to get bio gel shellac on my hands, which was quite pricey. After less than a week, on two of my nails the polish came completely off. I went back and they fixed it which was great, but NOW it has occurred again on the other hand, it is very frustrating to keep going back and getting it fixed.
