Staying at the Gran Luna Hotel, we were starving when we arrived. Attempting to locate a restaurant nearby, most of our party gave up and went to Court Ingles to stock up on 'homemade lunch'. We were lucky enough to wander down the street with Bar Jomail.
An authentic Spanish restaurant / bar. Their menu boasted local delicacies of snails, dogfish, and frogs legs. We also added on calamari, and house red wine. They provided free potatoes, olives, and meatballs to go with the wine. Everything was juicy, the seasoning of breading on the fried items was perfection, and the seafood was so fresh. I'm not sure if I'm now a massive fan of frog legs, or just their preparation. While we were stuffed, we made sure to eat every last bite, it was too good to waste or save for later.
While the owner did not speak English, he was super friendly and helpful-suggesting which wine we try. We we're glad we came. We also got to be a part of a birthday celebration, where the whole resturant dimmed the lights, and everyone sang! read more
