Fantastic evening out with our family. Outstanding organic wine! Service by the Argentine was exceptional. Food was delicious. Get the bone marrow. Try all the vegetable dishes!

Rude staff; waiter was condescending when we asked about items in the menu. Food was good though.

What an incredible place for minimal intervention wines! They have a substantial selection from Spain, France, and Italy. The ambiance is like a speakeasy, and the service is friendly. You definitely need a reservation; we tried coming a second time without one before leaving Barcelona and couldn't get in.

Fantastic meal and was able to seat our party of 2 after we were late for our reservation due to the classical music concert at the Palau de la Música Catalana. If the staff reads this, please forgive us for our tardiness as we tried very hard not to be those "classic Americans" that make a reservation and flake on it without notifying the restaurant. It's a 5 ish minute walk through alleys of the Gothic Quarter from the Palau and while slightly spooky due to lack of people in the alleyways, the restaurant is on busier street and felt very safe. Naturally as a bar-first place, particularly a natural wine bar, the atmosphere is loud and the food offering is limited. Nevertheless, we had a fantastic meal here, particularly due to the chef's love of using vinegar in two of the dishes we ordered. To start, due to my lack of tolerance for alcohol, I ordered a kombucha and was pleasantly surprised that they offer a niche brand that's likely only found in the area. They offer kombucha from Gotic Ferments (https://thegoods.es/collections/gotic-ferments) and after being presented with cinnamon/ginger, ginger/lemon, and red beet/orange, I chose the beet/orange combination as I wasn't feeling like ginger. I don't usually like the flavor of beet but it works in this combination as it provides a sweet contrast to the tang of the orange. Call that one a win. As for the food, we knew from research online that the zamburiñas, otherwise known as the Queen scallops, were a must order. They come in a plate of 6 for approximately 12 euros and boy, these were definitely a must order. The sweetness of the scallop is just accentuated by some umami from a pan sauce that had hints of soy sauce. This combination was so good we ordered another plate. The second item we ordered was their tuna belly that is served with mushrooms (likely the oyster variety), charred endive, and butternut squash. This was a hearty dish due to the inclusion of the large endive and butternut squash chunks. The tuna belly portion was smaller but so, so tender. A must order. For the final dish, we got the cured sea bass with confit maitake, eel and chicken broth. This was probably my least favorite of the night as eating a large cured sea bass which is basically warm ceviche was just not what I was feeling as a close out to the meal. However, execution wise, I felt the fish may be slightly tougher than I would've liked and the broth I must warn does say eel and chicken broth but also has a lot of citrus from the curing of the fish. Nevertheless, I'd likely have this one open the main meal rather than close it out. Of course, the whole thing is a tapas style ordeal like you'd find pretty much in most of Barcelona. Keep in mind the kitchen closes at 11:30 pm but the wine bar remains open until midnight. Overall, a fantastic wine bar with some snacks and plates. Definitely a win for lovers of all things vinegar, pickles, citrus. Make reservations if you can as it was a full house when we arrived minus that one table we were able to snag. English menu available and at least some waiters will be able to speak English.

This restaurant was so popular and equally hard to get a reservation we had to try 3 different times. It WELL worth the wait though. My favorite thing I ordered twice was the scallops it was everything. The cheese board was great too and usually Im a little lactose but I wasn't after this. Another thing I absolutely LOVED was their unique dish Sea bass ceviche. The sea bass was quality and had a lot of it! I would go again and wait too. The ambiance was nice pretty standard in Barcelona. There wasn't much room for bigger parties so I recommend splitting up your group to 2s or 3s max.

I loved the ambiance of this spot. It is a chic but cozy restaurant with an enormous selection of organic wines. The standout menu item for me was the scallop appetizer. They were sweet and delicious. The steak was fine, but not the best I've ever had. Perfect spot for an intimate but fun date night!

Best recommendation we received in Barcelona! I had the freshest oysters I've ever eaten here! My first time trying anchovies and they were phenomenal! It is a loud restaurant and very busy but the food came quickly & service was fast! The flan was excellent for dessert and we had questions about wine so we had a person coke over to explain and let us taste. Vast collection of natural wines to choose from! Pros: good food selection, quick, natural wine, good prices, good vibes! Cons: loud & busy

Another great recommendation from a local in Barcelona! Bar Brutal is a natural wine bar and they also have natural beers. The tapas are extraordinary. Even though we had a huge lunch we got a reservation for 8:15pm and between the two of us we had the following: Cheese Plate (2) - A strong brie from France and a nice manchego from Spain. Green Peas Dish - Best veggie entree ever Grilled duck heart skewer with tasty mayo Bone marrow - yummy 2 big 75cl bottles of beer from Cyclic, a farm brewery in Barcelona. The beer was a great value at $14/bottle. I would have expected it to be more pricey. Very good beer. We probably would have ordered 1-2 more tapas if we hadn't eaten a huge lunch. It sounds like you definitely want to call ahead and make a reservation. It was full on a Monday night.

One of my fav meals in Barcelona while I was here. We came back twice! Best natural wine selections in the city and this is one of the most inventive menus we enjoyed while we were in town. \ Peep them delicious pics!!

Loved the ambiance of this place! The meats and cheeses were fresh and flavorful. The octopus was a bit too chewy. I will say, we felt this place was overpriced for the portion size and quality compared to other tapas places nearby. I also was very excited to try some things I had seen on the menu online, which we could not order as they had changed several items on the menu.

After filling up on gin drinks at Bar Ruby, my companion and I staggered a few steps to Bar Brutal. Truly the culinary highlight of my entire trip, counting BOTH Rome and Barcelona. It started out with magically being given a table in the section with the best server Lya. What a delight she was! The wine list is like a damn encyclopedia, and thankfully the sommelier came straight away and helped us out. We settled on a chemical-free, organic local-ish wine that was unlike anything I've ever had. Almost sweet, almost effervescent even. Incredible. Then came the oysters from Normandy, the delicious bread, and then - the piece de resistance.... A pile of jamon that I am going to be fantasizing about for the rest of my life. Like, lustful fantasies. I'm almost blushing. Then onto the tuna tartare with beets (who would've even thought?), and a pork cheek dish with delicate pasta and a little teeny tiny bit of octopus for flavor and texture. Holy F*ck. Dessert went right on making me squirm with a flan that even had dehydrated black olives (yep, you read correctly) and a plate of lemon meringue that I wanted to lick clean. I can't say enough about this place... The ingenuity of their flavor profiles and the pride with which they serve is something that I will be thinking about in my private time for a long time. HUGE FIVE STARS.

Excellent food and a extensive wine list featuring primarily, but not exclusively, natural wines. Get the scallops! The vibe is great too.
