My birthday celebration began with a real adventure: trying to find a hidden rooftop joint called Bar Bohemien before being joined by my son, brother and sister in law in the fastest changing city in Los Angeles, Culver City. I got there early, found parking at a park and then wandered around and around, down an alley into a Japanese restaurant that turns out is in a giant food court of sorts with multiple different kinds of restaurants inside called Public Citizen and only then asking people where was I did a server for another restaurant take me to the front entrance where there was a tiny sign mentioning Bar Bohemien which was inside and up stairs to the roof. I had the Raspberry Beret which was quite good and we all enjoyed our cocktails sitting on a banquette. I used walkie talkies to alert my family of the reconnaissance mission and so began my birthday with some cocktails sitting on a couch on the rooftop where Michael treated us to a round before we went off to dinner. Upstairs in downtown Culver City they created a very pleasing atmosphere with the seating tables and banquettes but it is so urban that for a rooftop bar there was only views that they partially hid of ducts and A/C units atop other buildings. On this night the view, or lack of one, was irrelevant as we shared laughs and I pondered how did I get this old?

Love Love Love this place. The drinks. The rooftop. The vibe. The energy. The bartenders. The location. I discovered this spot on accident and have fallen in love with that I go every chance I get. It's the only other rooftop bar besides the Shea hotel or Margot. If you get a chance check it out I heard that citizens market is changing ownership so I don't know what that means as far as like the other eateries, but I was told that the bar bohemian was going to stay

Been here a few times. The most recent, last week before dinner across the street. Know that's its downtown Culver City - rooftop bar up on top of the Citizen Public Market. As I already mentioned heading to dinner across the street - it's because Bar Bohemien doesn't serve food. There's some bar snacks, but not actual food prepared in a kitchen and served. I didn't look at the selection but I imagine it's probably chips and stuff. Almost forgot to mention parking. Downtown Culver has a few parking garages. I prefer the garages on Cardiff and and Watseka. I don't know the rates but this last visit, it was $4 charged to my card. Not too bad for LA. Service is at the bar. Order and wait for your drink(s). If you're with people, have them go find seating because it can get busy. Especially out on the roof. I chose to sit inside this last time - everyone seemed to want to be outside and I really didn't feel like being social. Bartender was friendly but busy. Drinks have been and were great. Ordered the Bohemien Remedy this time. Enjoyed the Texas single malt and the brown sugar and vanilla notes. Adding in all the other ingredients, the drink was balanced not too citrusy or acidic. I couldn't taste the rum spritz but I guess that's just for smell. Everything together went well for my taste though I wouldn't have minded a little more punch (ABV). But I'll just say that I'd order this again. Guess the last line lets you know I'll be back for more. Gotta make the liver happy!

I had to remove one star for someone's shadiness at the bar. Not sure who did it but we encountered friendly people the entire time. At the end of the night on one of the bills, it was closed out, card was received back and then an extra tip was added. We had to text to have it removed. Cash tip was given and the other 4 people who came also tipped heavily so it was pretty upsetting. Nonetheless, the bar did give the extra amount back but it's the fact that we had to contact them AFTER finding out this was added. NOTE: Close out each time. You MUST sign. Do not leave until you, yourself sign and add the tip yourself or you may end up with a surprise addition. We came for the first time and came with a group of 5. It was a great time. Had no idea that this place had music and dancing toward the end of the night. We tipped heavily as this place has awesome bar mixologist. The drinks were amazing. There is a good amount of choices of food inside the establishment but not in this bar. We were allowed to bring the food in to eat. Drinks were between $16 to $22 depending on what you ordered. Beautiful set up. We all may come back as we did have a great time here but next time we will be closing out with each order.

This was the 3rd time I've been here and can't believe that I've not written a review yet! The service from the bar tenders is highly attentive...a very pleasant surprise when the bar is packed! It's an adorable spot& the rooftop patio with heaters & comfy couches makes this a place to come for just about any occasion. It's been a great place for a cozy date as well as completely fitting the bill for a moderately rowdy girlfriend catch-up. I ordered a different signature cocktail each time I've come, & can vouch for the fact that you really can't "order wrong!" My favorite so far: the Nomadic Sour...with the rare achievement of being smoky yet still allowing you to taste all the other amazing flavors in it.

This is THE date night spot for drinks in culver. $20 cocktail on a rooftop?? Plenty of parking in the public lots of course. Only $1 after the first complimentary hour. Then $2 etc after that. Been here plenty of times for dates. I saw citizen public market is closing so I'm guessing bar bohemian is also closing. There were plenty of tables and lounge areas. Some nights there's comedy. The drinks got us tipsy. J couldn't taste the liquor in mine but my partner's whiskey drink was strong. He said it was not that strong but he got tipsy before me. The bartenders are friendly and execute the crafted drinks well. We'll miss this spot.

Bar Bohemian, a craft cocktail bar located on the second floor of what seems to be a food court. Walking in, the place seemed cozy & festive for the holidays with a couple intimate seating areas. They have an extended outdoor seating area, but heaters weren't turned on, on a chilly night. Bartenders were friendly and inviting. This is the kind of bar where drinks are built in front of you, needless to say two drinks totaled to $42. Tip not included (always tip 20%) Overall cute bar, perfect for a date!

Ambiance: the bar is located on the second floor of citizen public market, open bar style seats inside and outside in the public area Service: fairly fast although not as friendly Drink: quite a few cocktails choices on their menu but without clear price after each FROM LA, WITH LOVE - *** Tequila, Passionfruit, Lofi Amaro, Lime & Grapefruit, Topped with Prosecco, average taste THEM APPLES - **** Humboldt's Finest Vodka, Mommenpop Makrut Lime, Green Apple, Vanilla, Yuzu, Soda, recommend Price: absolutely overpriced for generally lackluster drinks, totally not worth $20 per cocktail

Fun little bar in the Citizen Public Market. Gave me laid-back, relaxing vibes - the type of place you'd go to sit and enjoy a drink and good conversation. They had both indoor and outdoor seating, but neither location had a lot of seating - took us a moment to find a place for 2, and it wasn't that crowded while we were there. Lots of great cocktails - From LA with Love had to be my favorite (anything with prosecco will always be a win!). They also made a good espresso martini. We had to park in a paid lot across the street, but it was easy to get to from there and the cost wasn't too bad. A fun bar to enjoy a nice time out with a partner or friends.

This is a really pretty rooftop bar. We came here late on a Thursday night and they had a lot of outdoor seating and some indoor. The drinks were really good and strong. The bartender wasn't extremely friendly though. But it was a nice spot and they had a little Photo Booth, a movie projector, and cute areas for photos. * The Photo Booth does have an awkward angle from above so I'm not sure if it'll take really good photos.

We sat on the patio with a few cocktails we ordered: From LA with Love (tall orange drink) and LA Adelita (Mocktail). They were fantastic! I especially like the ambiance of the bar. It is located in a trendy food stall in downtown Culver City with other ethnic food on the first floor and the bar and its patio on the second floor! The only thing I need to subtract one star is the priciness of the drink $16-20 for a small glass!

Super trendy bar above Citizen market in Culver City. The bar had an inside and an outdoor patio. It was pretty packed! Pictured is the Aperol spritz which tasted great.

Stumbled upon this hidden upstairs bar when we were visiting Citizen's Market, and it's definitely a little oasis nestled within the beautiful historic setting of the building and overlooking downtown Culver. The bar itself is artfully decorated, reminding me of a slightly overgrown castle with its dangling vines and red brick walls, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Bartenders were quick with orders even with a consistent flow of customers, and drinks were made decently well and unique in concept, although they were a bit pricey (especially for the fact they came in plastic cups). If you're in the area and looking for a vibey, relaxing bar to socialize with friends, I highly recommend checking them out!

The location has a spacious area filled with a variety of wine options. I picked a Bourgogne Chardonnay from France ($36). We came on a late Monday afternoon and, lucky for us, they have a bar special on Mondays: No corkage fee! They also have Happy Hour-- Monday to Friday from 3-6pm. The Chardonnay was divine! I would totally return and purchase another bottle. We also ordered a charcuterie board and took advantage of their happy hour special for $20 (pick two-- one cheese and one meat). We opted for the 'Humboldt Fog' Chèvre as our cheese option and the Bresaola for our meat option. Both were delicious, but the chèvre was truly exquisite. We shared one charcuterie board with five people and it was enough; however if you're on the hungry side, I suggest two charcuterie boards for five or six people. In addition to meat and cheese, it comes with crackers, some pickled veggies, onion jam, candied nuts, whole grain Dijon, and apple slices. On the left side of the venue you have your variety of wine options; on the right side, there's the bar and some tables, plus a small area with other snacks for purchase that pair nicely with wine or beer. They even sell the Torres truffle chips! My only complaint is the service, unfortunately. The lady at the cashier was super friendly, however the bar tender was not so welcoming. When he came over to our table to open our wine bottle, he didn't greet us, smile, or say anything. He took our bottle and opened it and then asked who was going to taste. Not sure if he thought we didn't speak English since we were speaking another language when he came to our table, but overall, we all noticed his attitude and thought it was rather unwelcoming. Because of this experience, I rate this place a 4/5, however, everything else was great!

I've enjoyed a wide range of wines from an orange one day, a pinot next, a buttery Chardonnay or a spicy Syrah. Every time I'm there it's a fun experiment. :) If you're a lightweight like me, I'd suggest eating a meal beforehand because the menu is pretty light. The place itself is very modern and nice. Overall the vibe it basically a Houston's-type place. And service was good. All of the food overall was very good. Nothing really too crazy. To me, the menu is a little... boring. But, I will say everything was tasty. We got the Cajun shrimp salad (which was simple and clean but tasty), a cheese pizza for the kids (which was good!), a brisket French dip (very tasty and a horseradish sauce with a LOT of bite), a vodka pasta (was good but it actually is TOO big a portion to eat by one's self), the Ahi Tuna frites (the tuna was good and served with a nice green sauce), and the grilled cabbage side (with brown butter and some pomegranate molasses--it was actually my favorite thing!). The key distinctive thing about Laurel Grill seems to be that a lot of things get cooked by that fire which really adds a nice smoky touch (like the shrimp and the ahi tuna and the cabbage). My only major complaint would be the fries were just okay. After a minute or two they weren't crispy anymore. As good as everything else was, I thought they would step things up with the fries but they were just average. Anyways, while I overall am not that excited by the menu, it definitely is a great place to go where everybody will be able to find something tasty to eat. And overall, the portions were pretty fair.

Well, Dine LA is happening and what better way than to try places you've been eyeing. I've heard good things about this place from friends that's been numerous of times and each visit was always amazing. Of course as it's part of Dine LA, it was a given to come and try this place for the first time. We had a reservation on a Friday night which was the start of Dine LA and let me say, this place was packed. Every single tables inside and out was utilized. They've made a name for themselves if it was that lively. Good on their part. It wasn't a long wait till our table was ready. We got seated on the patio side just along the street. Covered canopy with both hi top tables and standard tables. Positive side, there were loads of heat lamps as well as heated fireplaces separating pretty much all the tables. Gotta keep everyone warm during our LA winter. Inside is quite small compared to the seating outdoor with only a few tables. As Dine LA was happening, they offered a three course meal for 45.00 per person. If you weren't interested in that, their regular menu does offer loads of amazing dishes as well. We started off a bottle of their French Pinot which was quite nice. Not too strong and very smooth. Nice pair for dinner. Service was excellent and was taken good care by our waitress which I didn't get her name. She was great and very friendly. Dine LA Menu Starters -Soupe a l'oignon (French onion soup) melted Gruyère and brioche croutons -Ahi tuna tartare- avocado, balsamic reduction and spicy Cajun chips -Escargot a l'ail- 1/2 dozen escargot in garlic and parsley butter Mains -Boeuf Bourguignon- slow roasted beef stew with creamy potatoes puree in red wine sauce -Coq au Vin- braised chicken leg with glazed carrots, pearl onions and bordelaise sauce -Moules Frites (Mussels and fries)- PEI mussels in bisque sauce with garlic, Chablis, brandy Dessert -Crème brûlée- vanilla bean and turbinando sugar -Apple tarte tatin- caramelized apples with puff pastry dough and caramel sauce -Profiteroles- choux dough filled with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and roasted almonds. We each went with one of the starters. The French onion soup was perfect. The broth with the melted cheese, it was amazing. The flavors of everything paired together were perfect. Tuna tartare was great. The seasoning with the glaze and chips to paired with was great. Also fish was perfect and fresh. Lastly the escargot. If this doesn't scream French, I didn't know what does. I've had it at other restaurants and I can say this was amazing. The garlic sauce was perfect. Snails had a nice taste to it and quite tasty. Not tough at all. Everything was excellent. Mains, the boeuf Bourguignon was tasty. Nice chunks of beef with a nice thick sauce and pared with mashed potatoes. Sauce was excellent and not too strong. And the mussels, which was a hefty portion. The sauce which was like a lobster bisque was excellent. I'm use to a wine broth but the bisque was amazing. Nice meaty mussels cooked perfectly. We had to order a side of baguette for the bisque. Dessert, the profiteroles which I highly recommend. Two amazing pieces of puffed pastries filled with vanilla ice cream and topped with chocolate sauce. Mouthwatering at its best. And lastly the apple tarte, the right amount of sweetness and baked to perfection also served with ice cream. I can say that my first time here was amazing. The service, the food and everything was amazing. Not only dinner, they're also offering Dine LA for lunch. Regardless, it's going to be a priority to come back for another meal. The full menu looked amazing. Food was delicious and everyone left full and satisfied. Oh, there's some street parking if you could find them but loads of parking structures nearby.

I was super stoked to check this spot out -- great location in the heart of Culver City, and the…read moremenu looked fantastic! Staff members were friendly, and our server in particular was super nice. The restaurant was extremely busy, which minimized check-ins with us, but I did generally feel taken care of. Unfortunately, I had a rather subpar experience with the food itself. At somewhat high prices, I expected a stellar croque monsieur. I generally found the dish salty, greasier than it should have been, and lacking in flavor. I also ordered the tomato basil soup, and it was extremely salty and tasted of pureed tomatoes with no seasoning. Additionally, my friend's Benedict actually came out incorrectly (crab instead of lobster). I should also mention that the menu is somewhat unclear about what is/isn't included in a meal. I recommend asking upfront before deciding, especially for combos exclusions and which side dishes are paired with entrees (note that the Benedicts come with additional sides that aren't listed). Unfortunately, it didn't feel worth the trip with so many other great restaurants within that same block.
