I bought bags of mortar, weeping tile by the foot, parging cement, pre-bagged gravel, and a bucket of foundation/roofing coating. The prices are great and the service is excellent. They helped me load and comprehend the job, with lots of knowledgeable advice. Finally, the other fabulous thing, is that you drive your vehicle right up to the materials. And there's no wait! And they're so nice! I can't believe I almost went to Home Depot (just up the street on Gerrard). These folks were superiour and every way.

I came to this location to rent a truck last minute and the shop owner, Andy, was very helpful and friendly. He was very accomodating when I told him I needed my truck at 8:30am (he opens at 9:30am) and came 30 mins earlier to meet with me. He also helped me save money by suggesting I make my truck rental a round trip instead of one way. Throughout the whole process it didn't feel like Andy was trying to make money off me but actually trying to help me get the best deal. There was no upsell at all. I recommend him if you ever need a truck rental.

Carlos dumped the pieces for 2 lights in a box, wired 1 incorrectly (1 instead of 2 lights) demanded $900 cash before releasing the lights. Downtown Lumber does it all! I'm not so handy when it comes to home repair, renovations or DIY. So,…read moreI'm constantly looking for the plumber or electrician who isn't going to rip you off and isn't going to take 3 trips on your dime to fix minor things. I found Downtown lumber as a dealer of some top of the line bathroom fixtures. With all the condo's going in downtown, this is your place for one-stop shopping! Tino was able to organize all the materials we needed, giving us prices and making sure we thought of everything. John is the guy who makes sure the plumber comes in after the electrician has set up his work. The process took a lot longer than expected- something any reno is likely to run into. Some of the delays were our fault, occasionally we felt they could have come a bit sooner. We would highly recommend them to anyone for small or big jobs.

Upon moving in close by my husband needed some paint thinner and goo-gone. Not knowing where the closest hardware store was I did a quick Google search and discovered this place. The staff in here are pretty friendly and are quite helpful if you just tell them what you're looking for. While it is a bit dark and as I mentioned jammed full of products, the store clerks are pretty good at finding what you need. They also do key cutting here at a pretty low cost which came in handy around move-in day when we needed to get an additional key cut. Just be careful and check the hours. Because it's not a big franchise they keep pretty limited hours.
