I really wanted to rate this steakhouse higher because the waitstaff was friendly and attentive BUT..... Let's start from the beginning. When I was seated they plopped down a small cup of the most horrid tasting popcorn I have ever had. I think packing peanuts would be better tasting. Please scrap this whole idea. The booths are very comfortable and the setting is like a sports bar with no televisions. Not familiar with this restaurant but it feels like a chain similar to Applebees back in the USA. I ordered an IPA which was good/standard (Punk IPA?). For an appetizer, I ordered the Salt Pepper Squid. I liked the slight kick but the breading overwhelmed the squid flavor unfortunately. The main course was the 12 oz Spiral-cut Ribeye with garlic spinach and a tossed salad. The spinach was so bland and overcooked, I could not finish it. The tossed salad had a standard amount of vegetables but the dressing was boring. I would suggest other options such as blue cheese. The steak was the biggest disappointment in some ways. I ordered it medium rare and the kitchen got this right. The problem was it was touted as being marinated for 24 hours for tenderness and flavor of which I did not agree with at all. It might have been the cut but you know it is a tough piece of meat when a steak knife does not want to cut it. My jaw did a lot more chewing than I would normally expect from what the menu described as a select cut. The flavor was also bland even with the peppercorn marinade on the side. I know it sounds like I am being harsh but someone needs to tell them the truth if they expect to compete with other steak houses in Glasgow. I will say though, the price is reasonable but I would rather pay more for a better meal in the end. I always compare steaks to my own cooking. I can cook just about any good cut of beef in a cast-iron skillet in the oven for 10-12 minutes and have a much better result. Steakhouses that beat my simple home cooking are the ones who get 4-5 stars. This establishment is far from that. Final note, the waitstaff is the only reason this review is not even lower. The management needs to re-evaluate their menu and end results if they desire a higher rating. Cannot recommend. read more
