I've been to the bar three times now. I've had the curds of course and you can't go wrong with them ever. I've also had the taco salad, which has a beautiful presentation but I wish there was more tortilla involved. I've also had the Spinach dip, which was a disappointment. I felt like it was missing something. The third time I came here, I ordered the 3 pigs sandwich. The pork was seasoned perfectly and was my favorite part of the sandwich. I was in downtown Bemidji for a bit and we were hungry so we chose this place because it just looked good. And we were correct when we judged this book by its cover. The decor on the inside was pretty cool, the service was great and the food was also pretty great. The portions were pretty big, I almost couldn't finish all my food, and that never happens because I can put some food away. They had so many different burger options I had a hard time choosing one. I know... real first world problems here. Of course being in Minnesota they got all sorts of cheeses on everything which was a pretty fun for someone who's not from around here, because well, the rest of the country likes cheese too, why aren't we doing what these guys are doing? The only reason this place isn't getting five stars is because when I looked at the virtual menu on my phone something happened to where I now get random Facebook messages from Bar 209 telling me to come back and get more food, which I'd love too, but I live like 2,000 miles away and no one likes being teased like that. read more

Staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Many people would just stop as they passed our table including the manager. Very nice place with lots of various seating available. Food was excellent and there were a lot of choices. Good beer selection with some local crafts. The only thing we did not like were the chairs. The had a low back and e found them uncomfortable. In addition it was noisy. Mainly from the TVs at an unnecessary level. I don't know why you need to hear the announcer to a football game in a restaurant. Stopped in for lunch with my boyfriend during a romantic getaway weekend trip and was super impressed with the look and feel of this place. Great, modern, urban look, not too "red neck", but also not too "millennial". I appreciated the 90s and 2000s rock music (Stone Temple Pilots, Cold Play, Matchbox 20) they played-- so if you're in this age range, this place is for you. They have a full bar with TVs. A room off the side that I'm sure could be reserved for a party. Plenty of seating. Big and roomy- so you don't feel like your chair will bump against someone else's. As for food- pretty good and decently priced! I got the barbacoa wrap (with your choice of side, not just standard fries, but fries is an option) with gooey Mac. They also offered seasonal alcoholic drinks- I had the pumpkin spice and everything nice martini. Two meals (no appetizers) and 3 alcoholic drinks; our tab was about $44 bucks. Service was great. No problems at all. We left the server 20%. She was attentive. Checked on us multiple times. And this was peak lunch time at 12pm. Overall experience was great. Will definitely come back. read more

Really tasty burgers, done exactly right. We tried the spicy one (only Midwestern spicy--as hot as I like all my food, but very tasty) and one with avocado and pico de gallo. The meet was the real star, though: juicy and really flavorful. Sides were good: fries seemed beer battered and the cheese curds were lightly breaded and fresh. Where to start with this place!?!? Well let's start with the cheese curds since Yelp gave me an alert while here that said they were amazing. It was correct for sure. They were very lightly battered and the right amount of melt. The marinara sauce was also great. My husband and the peanut butter burger with their pork hamburger mix. It was delicious and super messy. The fries were hand cut and had the right crunch for fries. I had the Asian lettuce wraps, they were a little picky but not bad. Chaos. Have DoorDashed here multiple times, eaten in a couple. It takes a bit to be helped, but waiting for a DoorDash can take all day. After being told the dash was being bagged and waiting 10 minutes, it got put away for another 10 minutes while other customers were being helped, then they couldn't open the fridge? The order was late and prevented me from dashing since it took so much longer than scheduled. DoorDashers are trying to make a living. read more

Update: I still stand firmly by my claim that the butter bourbon wings are phenomenal. I went back while on the road with the same colleague and scheduled our travel so we could get in on the half price wings. We skipped the nachos this time, but originally ordered the Cajun steak bites, fries and one order of boneless wings. The fries, similar to the toppings on the pork nachos weren't wrong...they were just...unusual. Something about their texture maybe was too "real potato." I'm not sure. Our lack of enthusiasm about the fries prompted that we order a second order of the boneless wings before happy hour was over. The Cajun steak bites (medium) were great. Unfortunately my experience was much like a review down below that I wish I would have read before I came here, Steak avocado wrap had no Guacamole or sauce, macaroni was cold, and I was charged an up charge for it without being told. the waitress was over taxed, along with the rest of the staff. I didn't ask but you would have thought they would have given me 1/2 off my meal after complaining in a very nice way and not eating half my wrap and hardly any of the craft macaroni. Then having to eat what was left of my grandsons pizza because I was still hungry. I guess they are so busy they don't care about return customers. The food is so greasy that it gave me diarrhea for two days. The burgers were okay. A lot of flavor only because of the grease. Come to think of it, it was a bad burger. Delicious food! I got a Southwest chicken wrap, but I should have gotten a burger, because the wrap was a bit bland. I'm not usually a burger eater, so I didn't order one for fear of getting a dry one and wasting my meal. I had a bite of my husband's, though, and it was juicy and delicious! He had cheese curds for his side, and they were miniature bites of heaven, melt-in-your-mouth, amazing! I had the Guiness rings, but I think the batter was a little too thick, because it didn't stick well in some places, and it was globbed up and undercooked in others.
