I visited Bemidji Brewing before a hockey game in town. It's a beautiful, small town brewery with some fantastic tasting beers. It's got a great variety for all those who enjoy a good craft beverage. The staff is extremely helpful when you need a hand picking out a favorite. The taproom is smaller, but cozy and doesn't really feel too crowded. It's a great place to visit when you're cruising through or staying an extended time. Enjoy! read more

It's always a treat to stop at Bemidji brewing when I am in town. Stepping into the brewery and out to the back, the space is great. There is plenty of tables outside and in. They keep it clean and they're always seems to be enough room for friends. The beer itself is quite good. I ordered a flights of a variety of different styles. Great beers. Different than usual. Blood Orange IPA is outstanding and not in my usual repertoire.

They had an amazing selection of brews and some that were the taproom exclusive. I really enjoyed what I tried, so much that I took a to-go 6-pack! The atmosphere was nice, and I love that they have popcorn for guests. I always feel like I need something to balance my stomach when I'm having beers so that was a lovely touch. We sat indoors which was really nice and a lovely ambiance. Normally I love to sit outside always but we had just come from a hike and it was hot out but the patio looked fantastic, too. The servers were friendly and attentive, and I could ask questions and get recommendations which is always so helpful when there are so many choices! read more

We swung by Bemidji Brewing and had no trouble finding on-street parking, even on a Saturday evening. We ordered a couple pints of Oktoberfest and brought some beef sticks and cheese curds from the meat shop next door. Snacks are pretty limited, but the table next to us ordered pizza delivery and the brewery encourages ordering from local restaurants. The beer was good and the taproom was clean and comfortable. Solid little place! Busy tap room, free popcorn, no food but many options nearby. Beer is basic but cold and good, and some of the IPA options are VERY good (I liked their west coast style). Not a place I'd detour to, but an outstanding stop if you're riding the Paul Bunyan trail. read more

We were going through Bemidji on our way back from Canada and thought we'd rest and have a drink. I believe there was a deal $18 for a flight of ten that we decided to try. I really like the atmosphere here. We felt welcomed and got a good explanation of everything that was on tap at the time. We were also glad that we could grab snacks. I actually prefer when places choose to have a smaller collection of choices as it's not too overwhelming. We always have playing cards with us so we spent about an hour here. Omg! We were staying in Bemidji and are a big fan of finding local breweries. This did NOT disappoint. We got 2 crowlers (I think they were called) to drink on the beach by our hotel. While walking around downtown Bemidji, we found this brewery! Due to Covid concerns, they are open to go ONLY. Online brews and food and merchandise can be ordered and picked up. Closed Sunday/Monday/Tuesdays for now. The female staff was very nice and gave us a warm welcome for the next time we can check it out. The pretzel, brat, and pasty we ordered were all very very delicious. They did have vegetarian options which I appreciated. Beer was good, but they didn't have the biggest selection. Refreshing light brews to slide us into a holiday weekend. The German Blonde rang in with tart straightforward ale flavor profile. The Autumn IPA brought a more complex symphony of fruit notes trailing the front end the brewmaster calls "pine" and I won't argue with his assessment. This is as good as it gets in Bemidji! I was in Bemidji for a family reunion and happened upon Bemidji Brewing while walking around downtown. The brewery opened on Friday July 19th, and I walked in on Saturday afternoon. The brewery offers 4 options for beer (Pale Ale, India Pale Ale, Belgian Saison, Robust Porter) and rootbeer. The porter is offered on CO2 or nitrogen. All of the beers were very good and offered as a sampler for $7.50 or individually for less. Growlers were also available. The staff were very nice and excited about their new business. I will definitely go back next time I'm in Bemidji - it is definitely a nice addition to the town! read more

I recently stopped in Bemidji en route to Park Rapids, and really enjoyed my time there - first ever visit! I am passionate about beer, and love checking out local brew pubs wherever I travel, so had to stop at Bemidji Brewing. It was a great as the reviews said it was! I visited around noon on a Saturday, and it was just starting to get busy. I consulted with the staff at the bar to get some ideas on what beer to try. I ended up getting a flight of 4 beers for $10: a Bohemian Pilsner, German Blonde, Robust Porter, and Espresso Porter. All very different, and really delicious, the pours were generous. A 6 spot flight was $14. Note: order at the bar, and they bring your food out to you. I also ordered lunch: a salad with Curried Chicken. This chicken can come as a sandwich or main dish; or can be served on a salad. The salad had mixed greens, diced tomatoes, a tsaziki sauce (really mild and creamy) with the curried chicken on the top. It was fabulous! The strips of chicken breast were moist and tender, with a spicy and creamy curried sauce on them. Oh so good! It was a moderate portion, enough if you need a little something that is also healthy. Not enough if you are really hungry. It came with a side - I picked the fruit salad, which consisted of a small slice of watermelon - kind of sad and disappointing. The ambience was friendly and inviting; there were tables big enough for a group of 6 or more, and then tables for 4 people. A wheelchair, crutches, etc, could navigate easily through the pace. Lots of space at the bar. Tables were not too close together. A bit of overhead noise, and music pleasant and not loud. The bathrooms were large, spotless without odors of any kind. If you are visiting Bemidji, be sure to check this place out - they have really great beer and food as well. read more

Currently, they offer 4 barrel-aged sours; all were great. The seasonal brew, an Oktoberfest, was malty & smoothie; spot on. The 'Vertical IPA is zesty, with a lemon tartness & a grassy quality. Very nice and clean brewery with very pleasant staff. I had the German blonde and it was light, refreshing and very good! My mother in law even liked it and she Is not a beer drinker. My husband had the summer IPA and blood orange and highly recommended the blood orange. The menu is small but the trout dip and bruschetta was delicious! They have small bites and a kids menu. Staying In Bemidji for 2 nights and wanted to try this spot. Pretty cool place. I like the casual set up. Just go upto the bar and order your food/drinks. A nice little spot away from anywhere, but gives off the feel like you were in the middle of a major city. The only menu is beer and beer; if you want food, you can bring it in yourself. They have a lively selection of beers to choose from, with a few being IPA's. However, there were two beers I did not like at all. One was a Honey Weiss style beer, and was extremely tart. It tastes like apple juice that had been left out in the sun too long. The other was a Blueberry Weiss, and while you can taste the blueberries, you also tastes pie that had been set out do many days. Needless to say those two beers would be in stock a while, as they were detestable. Besides those two beers, every beer in the place has a wonderful, unique taste, and you are sure to find something you like. They also offer "Howlers," and "Growlers" for you to buy and refill, so when you find the beer you like the most you can buy it in large batches. Stopped here on a whim and glad I did. The Robust Porter is very very good. The place is clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating. There is also a nice outdoor seating area for those nice sunny days. They also offer a limited menu however I passed on ordering food. I wouldn't be afraid to bring the children along they would like the food choices and there is a good choice of non-alcoholic beverages. read more

While in Bemidji, I had the Red, Blonde, and IPA by Bemidji Brewery. The Red beats a Killian's Irish Red any day of the week. The Blonde was tasty enough for me to return for multiple pints in one sitting. The IPA was well worth the $5 pint! In a sea of rising craft breweries, my only wish is that their distribution networks connected to the East Coast. If you are traveling to Bemidji, this stop is a must! Oh yeah! The only thing that put me off....was the acoustics....it got quite loud for not having a "packed house".... But the beer and service were great! My partner and I were in town for a Labor Day weekend trip and stopped here for a few beers. I really enjoyed the selection, and it's nice to see a small town like that have such a good brewery. We had a few nibbles, too, and those were quite good. Overall reasonable prices, which was nice given that it was peak tourist season. We spent a great afternoon in this very popular Taproom, just one block off the lake. We tried their sample paddle of 6 different delicious craft beers. My favorite was the newer Espresso Porter and my husband liked the Single Hop Ahtanum IPA. We chose to get a Growler of each to take home. They usually have 8 varieties of beer and root beer or cream soda available. Although they don't prepare their own food yet, they do have several take out menus from nearby restaurants who are willing to deliver to the Taproom. Very friendly people at a fun place. read more

What a fantastic meal - with great beer! We were impressed with the variety of brews offered. Loved the Robust Porter - and the Vertical Pale Ale was also very good. The food was creative and delicious - loved the curry chicken gyro - just the right warmth and spice. The walleye po' boy was very good and the cheese flatbread was wonderfully cheesy and had great herbs complementing it. If you go, know that you need to step up to the till to order food. Found out about Bemidji brewing Company when I was at St. Paul summer beer fest in 2013. I was so shocked that there was a brewing Company up north in my neck of the woods I just had to check it out and finally got the chance. I was meeting up with my mom's best friend so I posted up at the bar and chatted it up with the Brewer and another staff. They were very knowledgeable about their beer as well as other breweries. I ended up getting a flight of six different kinds of beer. First was the Belgian farm ale, it was a clean and crisp every day kind of beer. If you're curious about craft beer and you want something to check out and you usually drink Bud Light this would be a good beer. Next was there India pale ale I was kind of not sure because I don't like IPAs but it was delicious and smooth and not very hoppy. It had a really good flavor of fruit and citrus hop aroma! Next was there UK Pub ale. It was a delicious combo of floral and fruit it was definitely a balanced flavor. Next was there robust Porter and if I find a good Porter that is where it's at. It was very creamy with aromas of cocoa coffee and dark fruit. Next was single hop #6 athantum IPA. It wasn't super hoppy. It was very smooth and crisp! This beer is featured with Ahtanum hops and layered with grapefruit, pine, and earthy aromas. Last but not least was there export stout. Scouts are my all-time favorite give me all the stouts! Oh Em FG it was amazing in my mouth!!!! It's like I could live in this beer or swim in a pool of it haha! Okay okay, yes I maybe taking it too far but this is an amazing dear very enchanting. It is an oatmeal stout brewed with roasted barley, caramel malt, and flaked oats. There is English East that imparts a bit of fruitiness and mineral character it definitely rounds out! Overall the atmosphere was really great the seating was awesome and there was a big open windows. I don't know what it's like during the weekend but the weekday was pretty quiet. I ended up walking out with two growlers a hoodie a cup and a can coozie! Thanks bemidji brewing company! I'm glad I finally got a chance to come out! I will be back next time I'm home. read more
