My dad and I were driving all around the parking lot looking for this spot, but it's along the road…read moreso just park and walk around and you'll find it like we did. We sat outside and I noticed a lot of flies and chickens which was kind of annoying! Luckily they have indoor seating! I ordered the plate lunch and it arrived while I was at my car grabbing a sweater to eat inside. My dad said the rooster literally jumped on my plate and grabbed a bite before being shooed away by the restaurant worker. She took the plate away and proceeded to make me a new plate (which was absolutely YUMM). And of course we ate inside! It's a bit chilly in there for someone who runs cold like me so I was glad to have my cardigan!

We find parking in the lot nearby as it is quite large so that was smooth. Go around the corner and find Kono's...no line and there are tables/seats available outside (be prepared to dine with chickens) and even inside. We order the Haleiwa, Waimea, and Local Bomber burritos and this is where things turn. We wait...and wait...and wait..approximately 1 hour for our food! Wow. I get folks are on island time but this is crazy. That said the burritos are quite tasty... so can't complain about that. If you are in a hurry (and yes we wanted to get to the beach early to score parking) then you may want to look at alternatives.

Sadly, the landowners decided it was too much of a liability, so that's no longer an option. I truly wish this spot was sticking around longer because the sandwiches here are absolutely delicious. Everything is strictly vegan, but honestly, it's enjoyable for everyone -- whether you're vegan or not. The flavors and quality really stand out. The shop itself is small and quiet, with a cozy atmosphere. They also offer some great health food goodies and fresh produce, making it a nice one-stop for a quick meal and some wholesome snacks. Parking is available, which is always a plus. If you're interested, don't wait too long -- they're closing at the end of June. Please give this place a try before it's gone!

Naomi was my chef today fun fact, she also works part time at Ka'ala Kitchen. I got the rainbow sandwich on sourdough with dynamite aioli (soo good), plus a potato salad and hibiscus nettle tea, no sugar. We shared the pecan pie, pineapple muffin, and pumpkin muffin. I really liked the pecan pie crust. Both the muffins were moist, and I enjoyed the chunks of fruit in the pineapple one. I wanted to get savory food, but they were sold out by the time we got there. I also got a golden turmeric latte. I don't really know what I was expecting from a golden turmeric latte, but it just tasted earthy. Nothing amazing about it, but I'm sure it had great health benefits. Service was super friendly even though it was rather busy when we went. There was lots of seating in this cute covered area separated from the shop. I liked how quiet it was compared to the inside of the shop where they are calling out orders. I'm so sad that this place is closing after serving Haleiwa for so many years!

How sad! :( This has been a go to place for a cup of coffee and something sweet if I was in Haleiwa in the mornings. Also buy locally grown and fresh ground coffee...a lot of times for gifts. Sigh... gotta try to find a new place, but nothing can replace the Coffee Gallery... Got 6 more days for those who wanna make that last stop...

Cute country feel eatery in waialua…read more Since it's semi outdoors it can get humid and prone to flies. I ordered the coconut shrimp and the locomoco. The coconut shrimp was pretty good. Size was decent and the portion was adequate. 6 pieces of golden flaky shrimp. I loved the coconut shreds on the rice. I wasn't a huge fan of Mac salad and the lettuce on the bottom but I understand why the plating was how it was so it's not a negative thing. The locomoco was dry and overcooked. I wasn't satisfied with this one and it unfortunately did affect my ratings. The party smelt amazing but as I bit into it, it was extremely crunching and a little bland in flavor. I think the gravy was great and wish I had more of the gravy to help the patty. The food came out fairly quickly and the staff was kind in bringing out the food. I'm glad I got to try this place out since I've past it several times and always seem too early or too late to try.

This was one of my favorite spots in Oahu!…read more I loved how many authentic local dishes they offered including lū'au, kalua pork, and lomi lomi salmon. All of the food was sooooo delicious--my favorite was the lū'au which was made with octopus! It all tasted very fresh and much better than the stuff I found in Waikiki. For the big platter pictured in my photo, it was approximately $25. Not the cheapest lunch but definitely worth it! They offered seating both indoors and outdoors. My only wish was that they would have had fans outside or something, to disperse the flies more easily--those were quite pesky. Great spot if you're up in North Shore and/or getting some rock climbing or hiking in out near Mokuleia!

For about the same price, you can get a homemade egg sandwich, hash browns, potatoes, and a fresh meal that actually feels like it was made with care. I try to support local businesses whenever I can, and this place is exactly why. The food is fantastic, the portions are solid, and the atmosphere has that small-town North Shore charm that's getting harder to find. It's a tiny, unpretentious local spot with a great vibe and friendly service. If you're in Haleiwa and looking for a quality breakfast or lunch without the tourist trap feel, Cafe Haleiwa is definitely worth a stop.

We ordered a breakfast burrito for husband and I had the avocado toast and coffee. Really enjoyed my meal, nicely seasoned. The burrito was huge with country fries. This little gem will be on our list when in Haleiwa.

We're seated at the corner and forgotten. Now, the food-DISAPPOINTING! We thought it would be authentic fish since the name stands for it! We ordered Chicken and Fish sandwiches. The plating was nice and looks appetizing but the chicken were chicken tenders or chicken stick and the fish was those ready made breaded fish from Costco (at least it looked like it). What made the good taste good was the sauce. So, I recommend if you're really hungry and you don't mind eating microwave dinner and the family needs to unload and relax coz the place is vibing and has a long bar for adults. I'm just disappointed with the food.
