Super cute coffee shop and bakery that's worth the drive out to Waialua. There's a small seating area inside and tons of seating right outside. This spot is pet- friendly and the last time I came in I saw that they have a little resident cat that they give shots of milk to. I've tried their matcha and coffee and really love the fun flavor combinations that they have. We came on a Saturday so they had the farmer's market nearby, so it's a great spot to grab a drink before browsing the farmer's market. I hope it's not seasonal because it's so good- the pistachio latte. I got the matcha latte but they also had the same flavor combo with coffee. They do a pistachio cream rim on the cup and it's so good. The baked items and food menu looks good, I can't wait to try it

Did you know that all 3 places: Waialua Coffee and Chocolate Mill & Shave Ice store, North Shore Soap Factory, and Mele Mele Bakery are located all in one place - inside the historic Old Waialua Sugar Mill? First time visiting here and it's definitely a plus that all 3 places are walkable distances! Drive time is about a 40-50 minute drive with no freeway traffic. When you get on Goodale Avenue from Farmington Highway, you will reach an intersection where the opposite traffic stop is diagonally to your left and the road curves. Make a left there. Look for a small truck with signs and the entrance is the last one before the dirt road slants to the right. Mele Mele Bakery is further inside the Sugar Mill. Just keep driving down the bumpy dirt road, passing the Soap Factory and Gift Store, till you see another parking area on the right corner, towards the cylindrical structures. A small cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Offering bread, breakfast items, cakes, pastries, coffee, matcha, and etc. Everything is baked in house and uses organic and majority locally sourced products. Matcha is organic and from Japan! We came just minutes before they closed, and in process of cleaning up, but the staff were very friendly and nice, and welcomed us. The Black Sesame Hojicha Latte was excellent! Very smooth and creamy with solid black sesame and Hojicha flavors. Adding the floral pattern on top was a nice touch. Get their Earl Grey Rosemary cake! Very yummy! Not too sweet. Nice earl grey flavor with subtle rosemary. Beautifully presented! Overall, a very solid bakery/cafe! Awesome staff. Very well prepared and beautifully presented food and drink items. A surprisingly nice and calm outdoor environment with a nice openness feeling. Wish it wasn't so far out in the boonies for me!

Wanted a treat after our horseback riding experience. I went on yelp and found this bakery! It is located behind the soap factory. In silos. Pretty cool set up with inside and outside lounge type seating. The staff were friendly. I ordered a strawberry matcha. It was good but I would have liked more strawberry. Also tried their ube cheesecake and their lilikoi tart. I wanted to try their cinnamon roll it looked delish a was popular but the girl said the cardamom bun was her fave so I opted for that. I wish I would have gotten the cinnamon roll. The cardamom bun was just ok. You can tell it was sitting out because it was hard. My sister has the Ube cheesecake and she really liked it! The lilikoi tart was ok, loved that it was topped with fresh lilikoi. I also got a sausage roll for my hubby. I saw a guy eating a bahmi sandwich outside he said it was great! I did t see it in on the menu. I would like to go back for the cinnamon roll and the bahmi sandwich. All in all it was a good and fun experience!

Surprised to stumble upon such a cute and relaxing coffee shop in the old part of Waialua! If you wander toward the historic Waialua Sugar Mill, you'll find this hidden gem tucked right by the beige round water tank. Outdoor seating greets you as you walk in, and the helpful, friendly staff made ordering easy. My friends both ordered the gingerbread latte--adorable coffee art on top and a sweet (but not overly sweet) holiday flavor. I went with the Very Merry Berry Iced Matcha. Super pretty and Instagram-ready, but the flavor itself was a bit light for me, so I'll try something different next time. The baked goods were definitely a highlight. The lemon poppyseed was a little on the dry side, but still very flavorful. The vanilla dessert--can't remember the name--had a nice chew and was surprisingly delicious. But the winner for me was the jalapeño bagel with cream cheese: toasted, soft, creamy, and just overall very satisfying. I do wish they warmed up the other baked goods or at least offered the option, but that might've been on me for not asking. Overall, a charming spot worth checking out, and I'll definitely be back to try more drinks and treats!

The aesthetic overall is very beautiful. Very calming relaxing, it's a great cafe to have a morning coffee and read a book! The strawberry matcha tasted really good! The coffee however was burnt. It had a weird aftertaste but that could just be a simple mistake. The cinnamon roll tasted really yummy though! I would recommend to try their specialty matchas!

Confirmed they DO NOT have sourdough bread or bagel. No sourdough at all. The reviews from others on sourdough are assumptions, because they probably got it mixed up: freshly baked does not mean sourdough. They never carried sourdough baked goods before, according to the ladies who work there. For all the sensitive to gluten/glyphosate, this is not your place for breakfast or lunch. But the strawberry matcha was ok; pretty light but the homemade strawberry syrup hits. Let's just go to Italy or Europe for baked goods, so we can stop getting fat and sick from all the processed chemicals and Round Up sprayed on 90% of the corn, wheat, and soy in America. Ok I'll get off my soap box now.

Finally got to try this bakery out after seeing it all over my instagram/tik tok FYP! * Parking: Spacious parking lot on open dirt/gravel. They share this parking space with the other small businesses in the area. * Ambiance: So many photo-ops inside and outside the bakery. Very cozy interior with a bench and couch. There's also plenty of table seating outside to enjoy your drinks and pastries! * Service: Friendly staff with quick service! * Food/Drink: I got the jalapeño bacon cheddar scone and the strawberry matcha. The scone was a good balance of sweet and savory. The portion was huge so I happily saved the rest for a mid-day snack. As for the matcha, it was a little too milky for my taste, but overall still a good flavor profile! It was super refreshing after my hot yoga class. Definitely recommend to give this place a try!

This past weekend was my first time eating and getting coffee at Mele Mele Bakery, located in the historic Old Waialua Sugar Mill. Such a cute place and friendly staff! I loved how it was set up--both inside and outside seating were so nice. Definitely a spot I'd come back to. A cute cafe with an obscure location, we had trouble finding it but it has such a cute exterior. The ube latte was standard and took 15 minutes to come out. the service when ordering was efficient. Don't know if there was anything to write home about for the latte ($7) but overall the cafe had nice decor.

Fun coffee shop with coffee/tea drinks, pastries, and brunch offerings. Enjoyed two of the seasonal Summer drinks: black sesame maple latte and ube matcha latte. The first few sips before mixing were really tasty then mellowed out a lot after stirring it together. Inside is really cozy and there are a few seats/tables. There is parking right up front on a dusty, bumpy, open lot.

Banana matcha, slice of cinnamon bread loaf, wicked sage
    Kathleen L.

When I first discovered this place I thought it was the cutest coffee shop. But recently their og items like the breakfast sandwich have been so disappointing. There was way too much bread and I saw other tables with leftover bread on their plate as well. Their banana matcha was absolutely flavorless. No matcha flavor and no banana flavor. I bought their cinnamon loaf bread and there was so much cinnamon that clumps of dry cinnamon started breaking off from the bread. Couldn't even eat it. This place is going downhill. I can't even remember if the coffee was good cause nothing really stands out once you get past the cute aesthetics. Loved the cat though. It was friendlier to us than most of the workers there.

Blueberry lavender muffin and sausage pastry

Service is quick and prompt. Friendly staff who patiently took and churned out orders efficiently. Blueberry lavender muffin 5/5 Sweet but not super sweet. The lavender comes thru gently and the blueberries are perfectly baked and suguay. Hot dog pastry- 2.5/5 the dough is fantastic. Great choice on using the entire Portuguese sausage. Just wish there was onion or butter or something inside to give it moisture. A bit dry. Strawberry matcha - 2/5. Simple. Okay matcha. Great if you're really thirsty. Should have gotten a different drink on the menu. Quite small space inside. There is limited dining tables inside and outside.

I love Mele Mele! Matcha is always so delicious. I stopped in and got the mango coconut matcha latte with coconut milk, so good! I love a good seasonal drink and they nailed this one! Service is always quick and everyone's so nice. There's plenty of picnic tables out from/back. Minimal seating inside, but there's a place for everyone.

I came in a few times before and just never committed to getting anything but since today was so cold and I needed caffeine I braved the line and decided to give it a chance. Honestly if it wasn't so cold I would have left. Because the cashier was talking to a customer for several minutes about other people and clothing before taking her order. I guess if it was just me and a couple others maybe it wouldnt be so bad but there was 7 people behind me and the cashier didnt seem to care. I mean the customer seemed to be initiating the conversation and did most of the talking and so I can understand the cashier just being polite. But it seems like this lady comes in often but seriously it leaves a bad impression on others. I was ready to give this place 2 or 3 stars but then I tried the match which made the experience 3.5. But since its a small business I rounded up instead of down. It is a cute little shop but not alot of seating and not alot of parking. The pastries looked good but we're ro pricy for me. A muffin for 6.50 is just a bit to much. But again if you like matcha I highly recommend checking this place out

I have been to an Island Vintage Coffee before, but not this location. The shop here is located in the Haleiwa Store Lots and is quite large. With that space, there is a lot of seating as well as numerous stands of merchandise and coffee for sale. For my coffee on this afternoon, I ended up going with an iced Island Latte, which is a latte with macadamia nut and a hint of coconut. It only took a couple of minutes before my coffee was ready, and my dad and I headed back to the car to try it. My coffee tasted good as the coffee flavor itself was bold and very noticeable. I could also taste the macadamia nut, which gave the coffee a slightly nutty flavor. Last but not least was the coconut, which they said it had a hint of, and they were not wrong. Overall, it was a good coffee and it hit the spot for the afternoon pick me up I was going for. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My coffee here was pretty good and I would totally be up for trying their Hawaiian Honey Latte, which I almost ordered today.
