Highly recommend HI Pie! My bf and I were looking for somewhere new to eat in Haleiwa and didn't feel like going to any of the touristy shrimp trucks. We happened in to HI Pie and were surprised to discover such a hidden gem. I ordered the chicken pot pie which was $13 (reasonably priced for a handmade fresh mini pie). The cafe is well designed, clean and not crowded, so we didn't even have to wait in a line. I'm so excited to return and can't wait to try some of their drinks - the matcha latte looked promising I think they use Ami Mei matcha, chocolate chip cookies and other sweet flavors of pie. HI Pie!! You get a HI 5 from the Wifey and I. To be honest, we did desert first while waiting for the Pot Pie. She made me do it, buuuuut ...thankfully ... I gave little to no resistance. I love chicken pot pie and heard some raving reviews, so I made it a mission to get one when I was in the area. This place offers savory and sweet treats and pastries, coffee drinks, and matcha. The atmosphere had a small-town vibe. There are a few tables inside and a couple outside on the patio to relax and enjoy your order. A lot of people were at the popular food trucks as I walked into the cafe's quiet, cozy interior. I looked at the menu and asked about the pot pies; they currently had chicken and beef. I decided to order a couple of chicken pot pies, and the staff warmed them up. I enjoyed the flaky, buttery crust and the classic, flavorful filling. I've passed by this place in Haleiwa a number of times whenever I'm up on the North Shore. HI Pie is an adorable little bakery located in Haleiwa nestled alongside other unique shops, eateries and food trucks. They have seating for about 5-8 people inside but it seems they mainly do to-go stuff. I heard from a friend the pies here were really good, so I had to try for myself since I was out here again! I went for the signature Chicken Pot Pie & boy was it a super delicious bite! The crust was flaky and rich but the filling was amazingly savory. The blend of potatoes, carrots, celery, and chicken in a well-seasoned slurry was perfect! The pie was so gooey and moist & not dry at all. Definitely worth a try. If you don't like pie, they have quiche, sandwiches, salads, desserts (poi banana bread was great), and drinks too-- so there is something for everyone. I gave the benefit of the doubt on pricing though. If I couldn't give 4.5 stars I would have but only because I don't know if a $13 mini pie fits within everyone's budget! But it was SO good though! Love the open kitchen homestyle cafe. Parking- there's parking behind. We came here because we went to the food truck so we parked there. We were waiting for our food so decided to explore. Decor/ambiance- homestyle warm like feeling cafe. Love the decor and the seating. My 9 year old didn't want to leave because it was comfortable and cool in here. I loved the open kitchen style. The inside of this little bakery is very cute and quaint. There's indoor and outdoor seating. They offer a variety of caffeinated and non caffeinated drinks and pastries and desserts like carrot cupcakes, pies, cheesecake, banana bread, and more. We ordered the Manic Monkey with coconut milk and the Eleanor pie which has pineapple in it. Both items were soo good. The Manic Monkey's espresso was nice and strong (just the way I like it), the drink was mixed very well and it wasn't sweet so it went perfectly with my pie. Lots to like about hi pie bakery! Its a small shop but very comfortable to relax in and enjoy coffee and desserts. They do also have savory pies and food if you like. I had the manic monkey latte and eleanor pie. I turned out to be a really nice combo. The manic monkey is a nice and strong coffee and lower than usual sweetness level. Its also very creamy. The pie was unique and enjoyable. The cream is thick and custard textured with the pineapple mixed in. I was expecting it to be whipped cream on top but i actually prefer the way they made it. The pie crust was very crumbly and i liked that it was different. Together it worked together very well. I decided to get a quick coffee before the beach on a Thursday morning. Saw this cute coffee shop around North Shore and decided to try it out. It was not busy at all when we went. The Eleanor Pineapple Cream Pie... oh my goodness, the way I scarfed down this slice must be studied. I devoured this so fast that I am still dreaming about how delicious it was. I first saw them on Instagram when they were at their first location, but when I finally decided to go for a visit, they were in the process of relocating. There was only one lovely lady who I assume is the owner/baker. Since it was not a busy time, I was able to order immediately at their walk-up counter, and my food was delivered to me at my table in 10 mins. I had the Eleanor which is described as a "pineapple cream pie." Typically cream pies are made with a custard base. The Eleanor's base felt like it had whipped cream folded into it, as it was very light and fluffy, with bits of pineapple mixed in. (I'm probably dating myself when I say it reminded me of a Jell-O no-bake pie.) The pie was light and airy, maybe a smidge too sweet, though probably not noticeable with a cup of coffee to accompany it. I prefer my graham cracker crust to be a little more dry, the bottom crust was a little too gooey for my liking. Overall, however, the Eleanor was a very nice piece of pie and I'd order it again. read more

Hi pie chicken potpie is super savory, a little on the liquidy side, which sadly spilled into the container. Their strawberry matcha is okay for my first time ever ordering a drink like that. We were disappointed as the girl helping us, spoke extremely soft, didn't hear my husbands coffee order and was informed that the meat pie was not available for dine in. Each pie is an about $12... which is understandable. Their ham and cheese Sammy had this sweet honey mustard that my husband enjoyed so much, he didn't let me have another bite. We make allowances for staffing shortages so when drink orders are incorrect or food items forgotten we give them extra time before we mention it. These issues happened while we were there and it took an extra 10-20 minutes for our order to be completed. I ordered the classic chicken pot pie for dine in and they warmed it up for me. I really enjoy chicken pot pie so I have been looking for go-to place for this dish. The chicken was moist and the creamy filling was tasty. The overall size of the pie was perfect for 1. I've only tried one thing here, their chicken pot pie. I've had it twice cause it was so damn good the first time I often thought about it. It was magical. They had a single serving size and a full-sized pie. Eat there and they will heat it for you or take home to heat yourself. Only regret is that it is in Haleiwa and I live in town. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and so happy I finally did! Convenient parking behind the building makes this place an easy stop on your way into Haleiwa town. My husband works near by so he had brought me home the pineapple pie and peanut butter pie and both were really good. They had that special homemade with love type taste that made it so special. Even if you think that's not your favorite flavor for pie I would highly recommend you try because it's a crowd pleaser. I wanted to try everything else they had so my husband and I went in to try the pot pie, quiche and banana bread. I also got the iced matcha strawberry latte...wow so delicious. My husband is more of a rice, eggs and meat guy for breakfast and wasn't too hyped on eating a pot pie for breakfast but after his first bite his feelings changed. We got the steak and potato pot pie and the spinach feta mushroom quiche? Soooo gooood. Already counting down the days til we go to Haleiwa again so we can stop by here again. This spot in Hale'iwa is super adorable and delicious. The carrot cake is moist and light - perfect size in the mini cupcake. The pineapple cream cake is DIVINE. I bought whole one for a party and it was devoured. The banana bread and cookies are also yummy. The quiche meal with side salad and slice of banana bread was a great deal. It's always the simplest things that are the most delicious and satisfying. We were recommended this bakery by the guy working the parking lot in the community center after grabbing lunch at Jenny's. Though my partner and I were full after having garlic shrimp, we went back to this bakery for dessert and were not disappointed at all! The Eleanor pineapple cream pie might be the best thing new thing I've tried on the island! We frequently visit Oahu to see friends and family but don't go to Haleiwa or North Shore often. The HI Pie Bakery was a place recommended by a local friend who lives in the area. Greeted with a micro and shared parking lot, we made sure to arrive early since it's quite limited. With the small staff, and the kitchen that you can practically see the through from ordering, I just knew that this was my kind of place.
