You can get a hot meal for lunch and dinner to warm up or cook that night. These people know what they're doing. They have a fresh soup daily and they are to die for. I mean some of the best soup around. The chicken and rice and Philly Cheesesteak are my favorites. You can take them cold and warm them up at home if you'd like. They have a different egg roll each day. Boars head sliced meat. Go up to the deli counter, take a slip and fill out what you want and they'll make a sandwich just for you. The store made ranch is so good you can buy it by the pound. And you should. Two words. CITY CHICKEN. It's like juicy chicken speedie's, lightly breaded and cooked to perfection on a stick. They come in so many flavors but I like it spicy. And dipped in ranch. You can easily stop for lunch, grab steaks and sides for dinner. Ice cream. Beer. And leave a happy American. I don't know the chef but if I met her/him I'd smooch them. Check this place out. It will become a staple.

There is still a deli making sandwiches in the back of the store. Everything is tidy and it appears they still hire local kids to bag groceries and run registers. 4 stars for nostalgia, cleanliness and the deli. Sadly the prices are exorbitant. I understand you pay for convenience but milk is almost twice as much as any other store. Hence the loss of one star. Overall, it was a great visit and they had exactly what we needed. I hope the Dollar General and Family Dollar don't run this tiny business out of town. Keep small business alive!

We used to live just around the corner from Gerry Tull's. And after moving away, who would've thunk…read morethat one of the places that I miss the most is a convenient store!! But this family-owned convivence store is much more than just that, and when we recently road-tripped through the area, I had to stop in. Sure, it is a handy store with basic staples, when you need to grab a quick grocery item. But Gerry Tull's is also a well-loved and delicious sub shop, too. The counter has sub slips for you grab and mark up to customize your sub toppings just as you want them, to which the friendly sub makers happily oblige your sub-wishes. When we recently stopped in, the phone was ringing off of the hook with sub orders, so happy they are still so great-sub-popular!! On top of subs with fresh-cut cold cuts, there is a well-stocked deli for purchase of fresh-cut cold cuts too. Gerry Tull's doesn't stop there in the many hats it wears so well--it's also an ice cream shop!! The soft-serve is absolutely delicious here, with many hard-scoop flavors too. And what's next??--Gerry Tull's is also a redemption center!! Bring your bags of cans and bottles here for easy returns. And when you're done??--How about a round of mini golf??!! Gerry Tull's has a fantastic putt-putt course to round out your visit. I can personally vouch for the high quality of this putt-putt course because when my family used to live here, my dad helped to build it. And after many years, his awesome obstacles still stand, still going strong for lots of family fun!! Inside the store, there were really nice Gerry Tull's tees for sale too, and of course I had to purchase one for my dad, who was thrilled to see it when I brought it home, and more thrilled that his mini-golf-handy-work is still alive and well. About the only thing that Gerry Tull's doesn't have is gas, but there is a gas station right across the street should you need some when you come out to visit ... so come out to visit!! Make a day of it at Gerry Tull's, with subs for lunch at the picnic tables, followed by a round of mini-golf, then ice cream for dessert, and drop of your returnable cans and bottles while you're at it!! Gerry Tull's is such a sweet little family-run store-and-more; your patronage will be greatly appreciate by them--and greatly enjoyed by you!! :-D

As frequent visitors, we want to unconditionally love Frog Pond Farms, because it's clearly a LOT…read moreof work to offer what they do and we respect that kind of hard work. When our daughters were toddlers, they could spend all day looking at the animals while we browsed through the enormous quantities of plants and produce. But we can't continue to ignore the "cons". The parking lot looks like it's been bombed, and - as other reviews have noted - it's not exactly the safest place when you consider lots of children running around. Visitors must be extra vigilant and patient when pulling in and finding a place to park. On busy days, the one long narrow strip of parking spots can be a challenge. The far end of the business where chicks, ducks, and bunnies are sold is incredibly fly infested. Fly paper rolls could go a long way in making it more tolerable. I'm not sure if the horrid conditions in some of the cages impacts the health of the birds, but I can tell you we purchased 5 silkie chicks a couple of weeks ago, and two of them died within days, and a third is showing signs of distress. This is not the first time we've had this experience with animals we've purchased there - sick animals, inaccurate sexing. We have stopped considering Frog Pond as our "go-to" place when we want to add to our flocks. The flies are also a problem in the fruits and vegetables. I was browsing the display of berries and grapes and completely rejected any notion of buying them with the quantity of flies that were landing on them. I don't know if there's a solution to that, being that it's - in effect - an outdoor farm stand. Look, there's a lot that's amazing and wonderful and unique about Frog Pond. The work they put in to stocking it, the amazing math wizard at the register who adds everything up in his head just like his dad did, etc. The place has gotten a LOT bigger since we first discovered it and that growth may be working against them. Other reviewers have stated much of the produce is trucked in from outside the area, and not grown locally. Not sure if that matters to most people, but the place does give the "vibe" that it's a local source farm stand that offers plentiful heaps of whatever's in season. The prices are quite a bit higher than what you'd pay for similar items in local grocery stores, but again - we understand the overhead must be pretty substantial for Frog Pond. If you have children - especially little ones - they'll see the place as Disney. When the magic wears off, though, and you start noticing how many greenbacks you're handing over when you go, you start to consciously reflect on whether it's worth the trip out there.
