As frequent visitors, we want to unconditionally love Frog Pond Farms, because it's clearly a LOT of work to offer what they do and we respect that kind of hard work. When our daughters were toddlers, they could spend all day looking at the animals while we browsed through the enormous quantities of plants and produce. But we can't continue to ignore the "cons". The parking lot looks like it's been bombed, and - as other reviews have noted - it's not exactly the safest place when you consider lots of children running around. Visitors must be extra vigilant and patient when pulling in and finding a place to park. On busy days, the one long narrow strip of parking spots can be a challenge. The far end of the business where chicks, ducks, and bunnies are sold is incredibly fly infested. Fly paper rolls could go a long way in making it more tolerable. I'm not sure if the horrid conditions in some of the cages impacts the health of the birds, but I can tell you we purchased 5 silkie chicks a couple of weeks ago, and two of them died within days, and a third is showing signs of distress. This is not the first time we've had this experience with animals we've purchased there - sick animals, inaccurate sexing. We have stopped considering Frog Pond as our "go-to" place when we want to add to our flocks. The flies are also a problem in the fruits and vegetables. I was browsing the display of berries and grapes and completely rejected any notion of buying them with the quantity of flies that were landing on them. I don't know if there's a solution to that, being that it's - in effect - an outdoor farm stand. Look, there's a lot that's amazing and wonderful and unique about Frog Pond. The work they put in to stocking it, the amazing math wizard at the register who adds everything up in his head just like his dad did, etc. The place has gotten a LOT bigger since we first discovered it and that growth may be working against them. Other reviewers have stated much of the produce is trucked in from outside the area, and not grown locally. Not sure if that matters to most people, but the place does give the "vibe" that it's a local source farm stand that offers plentiful heaps of whatever's in season. The prices are quite a bit higher than what you'd pay for similar items in local grocery stores, but again - we understand the overhead must be pretty substantial for Frog Pond. If you have children - especially little ones - they'll see the place as Disney. When the magic wears off, though, and you start noticing how many greenbacks you're handing over when you go, you start to consciously reflect on whether it's worth the trip out there. read more

Sad so many bunnies and chicks in small cages. They are so close they can barely move. Two goats in a small, fenced area with very little room to walk. To me that's animal cruelty. :-( read more

I enjoy a visit to Frog Pond Farms in the fall for pumpkins, mums, and to see what fun items they have inside the barn. I have not noted organic produce here, but they have local products like maple cotton candy and maple popcorn from other vendors that are excellent! As others have commented, the gentleman who rings up the orders is (I am told) an auctioneer, and his skill at calling out the prices and adding them in his head is worth the trip to experience! read more

I really really really love coming to the Frog Pond Farms! This place is like a little slice of heaven for anyone that enjoys a good farmers market filled with fresh produce and plants. My brother finally took me here after years of telling me about how cool this place was and I couldn't agree more! We started off with some fresh donuts from the little cart and boy were those delish. I ordered a glazed and my friend got the sugared and we split, so we got the best of both worlds. I love me a good petting zoo as well and the Frog Pond was checking all the boxes on my list. There were goats, ducks, chickens, a baby cow and some really large pigs and they all looked really happy and healthy. The produce section had such amazingly fresh fruits and veggies everywhere and at really good prices. I ended up with some fresh apples to make a crisp, an acorn squash for my friend because she loves them, delicious cheese curds and a whole bunch of other fruits and veggies. The plant section is so reasonably priced! I got a beautiful plant of sunflowers for only $5, I would easily be paying $20 back in NJ. The Frog Pond is a spot that you easily can spend the afternoon here and not even realize you have been there that long. There is just so much to do and look at and explore. I like that they have a huge section filled with cracked corn for kids to play around in and keep busy. I can't wait to come back and see what they have to offer up for fall! read more

They have everything from the traditional fall favorites (pumpkins, apples, squash, Concord grapes, potatoes and mums) to unexpected items like pluoots, apricots, plums, avocados, sweet potatoes, lemons, limes and more! Produce is of great quality, clearly fresh, and reasonably priced. Their check out method is impressive and entertaining - they have an almost auction like way that they call out the prices as they add the total in their head. However the star reduction is for the following reasons: -Their parking area is NOT SAFE and should be redesigned before someone gets hurt. -The cash out area is too crowded, and chaotic. It should be moved to a less congested area so a clear line can form without blocking shoppers. - the plants were poorly maintained- many were dry and half dead or fully dead. read more

about half the stuff I purchased decayed in about two days not very fresh lots of rotten spots you have to really pick through things to find some thing that is fresh. Haven't been there in a few years and seems to have gone downhill. read more

Great place for a family road trip, kids can visit farm animals, while you purchase farm frash eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables. The cashiers are math geniuses for this market uses the original computer, the human mind. Quite impressed with how fast they add it all up! You can pick up in season fresh produce for preserving. Frog Pond used to be one of my favorite places to shop. The last couple of years though, the quality of the produce seemed to take a nose dive. The tomatoes had no taste. They looked pretty, bright red and big but when you got them home expecting them to taste fresh from the garden they were very disappointing. I gave them many chances as I kept thinking it was just that particular batch. It wasn't. Now if I buy there it must be something we can eat within two days or it doesn't last. What I do use them for is to buy 50 lb. bags of carrots, potatoes, beets or squash and bring it home and start canning it immediately for our winter vegetables. For those products it is great. It is fun place to go when the baby chicks are on display for sale and great if you have children who would enjoy the experience of the animals. read more

This is a pretty good place to go if you wish to buy in volume (i.e. large family, events, canning, etc.), but I highly recommend getting there on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday morning. These are the only times we have been able to really browse and find everything we want. Any other times it is quite busy, the parking lot cannot accommodate all of the shoppers, and the overcrowding makes it difficult to simply walk past people. The prices are terrific and the quality is wonderful. we purchase many of our herbs, plants, and veggies to grow each spring and have not had any problems. We like the fact that most of the goodies are locally grown (including the animals), and for quantity it is definitely worth the drive. However, each year it becomes more popular and more crowded. We hope they figure out a better way to accommodate everyone soon. Try it out, but go on those weekday mornings I suggested, and go at different times of the year (April-October) for seasonal goodies. read more

Delightful!! I could have spent so much cash here on herb plants, flowers and produce. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have baby animals galore and PIGS that you can pet! The cashier adds up your order out loud and using only mental math. As a math dunce I have never been so impressed. I couldn't wait to get home and plant the beautiful flowers I bought here. The quality of produce is sometimes hit or miss here. There are great bargains to be had but the produce doesn't keep all that well, so it's best to use it immediately. Plants used to be very reasonably priced and of good quality, but prices have risen and the quality is variable. I do like the variety of vegetable plants available and there are sometimes interesting varieties of perennials which you don't typically find elsewhere. It's best to avoid this place on weekends as it's very crowded then and it's difficult to fight the crowds. Bring cash because credit cards aren't accepted. read more

They do have many varieties of veggies for sale, but the prices are outrageous, and it's not even organic. For city folks it's a great experience, but that's really what your paying for. Great place for fruit and veggies. Only open for a few months out of the year, late spring in to early fall. You can sample anything before you buy. The man buy the register is the register, he weights, counts and added like one. Cash only. Also excellent place for kids because they have farm animals their too! I love Frog Pond! There is never a boring moment here. They have animals you (and/or your kids) can visit and pet, and they have the freshest fruit and vegetables around. They also have the most beautiful flower selection around! The staff is very friendly and there is always someone nearby if you need help with something. Frog Pond has gotten too big for its britches! It used to be THE place to go, back when it was a true farm stand. Now, however, their produce comes from the same truck that supplies the grocery stores, and the number of times I've gotten produce home, only to find hidden "surprises" like moldy berries or bruised peaches at the bottom of the box, is now the rule rather than the exception. Their vegetable plants and flowers are inexpensive, but you can no longer trust the labels - the red impatiens may very well be purple, and your hybrid cukes could turn out to be Kirbies. I think the quality of the place has gone down in direct proportion to the increase of city people in the area. Their idea of a good deal and a good product is quite different from those of us who grew up here. Sorry, Ron and Karen, but bigger is definitely not always better! read more

I use to start my own vegetables from seed but with the terrific quality and extremely reasonable prices on vegetable plants it seems like a waste of time to do it on my own...mine don't come close to the quality of the ones they grow. All in all it's a great shopping experience there even if it's just to watch someone being checked out without a cash register adding the total but the person checking you out saying the prices and doing it out loud ! read more
