Small local place that makes some amazing ciders. I had a semi-sweet and orange flavor that was refreshing and flavorful. I also had a semi-sweet and apple flavored cider. Both were well balanced and had great flavors. The inside had just a few bar stools and there is some outside seating. It was a quiet night I was there and the bartender was knowledgeable and friendly and I enjoyed hanging out chatting with a few locals. Great spot to try some great ciders with some friendly people. Loved this little local cidery on our recent trip to Stroudsburg! We visited on a Friday afternoon and found a short, socially distanced line of presumed locals waiting to refill their growlers. They have a few tables set up on the sidewalk, but due to the current pandemic restrictions were not allowing customers inside since the space is so limited. We were greeted warmly at the window and given a verbal run through of the tap options (apparently they typically are displayed on a sign, but their sign had been left behind at another event). Since they had 8 taps and offered flights of 4 ciders, we made the obvious decision to get two flights with a sample of each. Their Original cider was sweet and delicious; it reminded me of Downeast Cider from Boston, which is a good thing. Our other favorites were the Strawberry Lemonade, Mimosa, and Iced Tea Lemonade ciders. The dry cider and grapefruit hopped cider were good options for those who aren't into sweet drinks. The only one we didn't care for was the Kiwi Jalapeno, but I will say that I am not typically a spicy drink person. Bottom line: great ciders in small, intimate setting. Gluten line: thankfully cider is gluten free! And they even had gluten free crackers to have with cheese! Yay for celiacs! Long line: came after a day of skiing. The space is small and there was live music setting up. A group of us swung by to check out Banter's Hard Cider after some ATV riding. They have a great location that's close to Main Street and it's away from the crowd. My boyfriend and I decided to share a $10 flight of four different ciders from their small menu. There wasn't much seating available outside, so we had to venture away from the storefront to enjoy our drinks. They offer to-go cups and growlers, as well. I just love this place, I've been here 2 times with a high time gape between and every time I say how good their cider is. They have quite a variety so everyone can find something you like from dry to sweet to a little sour. The overall is nice and cozy. I have been wanting to try this place since it opened. I like the idea of something different, not wine, not beer, and F and I are novices when it comes to cider. Banter is a cute little storefront on a cute little street (5 stars for that). The owner was presiding over the bar when we walked in on a Wednesday afternoon. We did a tasting of all the ciders on offer. (They also have meads and cocktails). I liked everything, but some more than others. It wasn't what I was expecting, since my experience is mostly pedestrian stuff you get in bottles at Joe Canal. I think I have to do more research to acquire a taste for the good stuff. Very small place. It is unlikely you'll get a seat on a weekend afternoon, but it's got a cool vibe. This is located off of Main Street in Stroudsburg, but has a wine tasting room next to it that adds some liveliness to the block. Six varieties to taste as part of a flight. The most incredible cider is the one that tastes like lemonade, followed by the one with a sour cherry taste to it. A great experience. My cousin took me to this place today as she wanted to grab a drink. I told her I only drink cider and cocktails. She said this was the perfect place for my "limited taste". First and foremost, this place is really tiny. I'm talking, it only fits like 15 people! If the place is above capacity everyone starts sweating and it's like a sauna in there due to all the crowding. You can imagine how hot it gets from the body heat and you can probably imagine what the place smells like. I thought the prices were great. They had a very solid selection of hard ciders. I had a sample of all 7 hard ciders they have on tap. My favorite is the lemonade one. They also have craft beer cocktails (pretty unique in my opinion). My cousin told me this is a great hangout spot. For that reason, I give this place four stars. The bartender, Thomas, is a cool guy and my cousin praised him and his fiancé (I believe) for the awesome hospitality whenever she is at Banters. I stop in at Banter's with my cider growler every chance I get when I visit Stroudsburg. It's really fun to go in and taste a flight of ciders and hang out with your friends. They try a lot of different things with ciders so every few weeks you can usually expect to see different ciders on their board. I like bringing some home and cooking with it sometimes - you can use it in most applications where you might use beer or a white wine or in your braising liquids and it's great fun. A nice tour of main street in Stroudsburg is a flight of ciders at Banter's, a flight of wines at Renegade winery, then sit down for dinner at one of the many great pubs and restaurants around the block, perhaps Yard of Ale. When I was a teenager living in this area many years ago there was nowhere near as much nice stuff to check out in stroudsburg. The area has come a long way. read more

Stopped by Banters after a hike at Tammany mountain. The cider was delicious, I got the "apple pie" infused one and my dad has the satan take the wheel. They were both super yummy and just what we needed after a long hike. I also got the can of the swamp frog which is a limeade flavor, super sweet and super delicious. The bartender Amanda was awesome she had great recommendations and was super attentive and helpful. I'll for sure be stopping here again or ordering online. I got a Groupon for $15 for four people, such a sweet deal. I like that you can bring in your own food. So before I went me and friends got some wings and fries so we could enjoy Banters. Banter's very small like tiny. They share a space with a cafe on the other side of them. I really enjoyed the tasting but didn't like that I was drinking from my friends due to the bartender getting the samples for us. Once I explained myself the bartender gave everyone new glasses and we told her whose was whose. I like that she stayed very calm and didn't seemed annoyed. This place has the most unique ciders I have seen. I lovedddd the cider with lemon and another one that had plum in it. We came in for a tasting, $7 to try all the ciders they had on draft. All of their ciders are apple based. Three of them really stood out to me: a dry champagne like cider, one with pineapple and passion fruit, and one with black currant. The first had a dry mouth feel but still had a decent sweetness to it. The second had a rich pineapple aroma, but the pineapple flavor came more as an after taste. The third smelled a lot more strongly of black currant than it tasted. I really enjoy the flavor of currants and it is always nice seeing that flavor in domestic drinks. read more

Great experience as I love cider and hadn't had any other than Angry Orchards or Reds. Hubby and I got a groupon for the tasting (usually $7 each but we got 2 for $6!) we ended up taking some home! Bartender is really nice. Only downside is that it get warm in there quick if too many people. They have about 4-5 different board games. Hidden gem. Amazing ciders, not the typical syrupy sweet mass-produced garbage. Bön and Overcast have great flavor. All the fruited ciders are great, very subtle. Stygian with black currants is the leader of the pack, but all are tasty. Owner is great, nice space. Easy 5 stars. Worth a trip out of the way to try this spot. read more
