Then I found Golden Rug's website. Their inventory is gigantic. Make sure you view them on the website first to get an idea of what you like because they have so much more in storage. I went in twice to look for a rug for my home. I am so glad I did. The pieces in this store are art. You will appreciate them over time and they will probably become heirlooms. The atmosphere is like walking into an Middle Eastern marketplace, but much more intimate because there are no crowds. I got the opportunity to talk to Laiq, a wonderful and kind gentleman. He brought out some rugs that I saw on the website the next day. Laiq educated me on rug types and materials. I really got to appreciate the amount of work that went into each rug. Each rug is made by hand and imported from various countries such as Iran, India and Afghanistan. You can really get some masterpieces here. A vegetable dyed and densely hand-knotted rug was way out of my league. What I ended up with was a beautiful 8x10ft Indian hand knotted and chrome dyed floral rug made from wool. A one of a kind piece. If you don't want to settle for the machine-made, mass-produced, glued down, fossil fuel fiber rugs sold at your mega chain stores, I highly suggest you take a journey here. It turned out that we needed the floors to be levelled before the laminate could go down, and that change was handled smoothly and swiftly by Ibrahim, our contact at Val-U. First off, I had to call Keit, the project manager to give me a quote, literally everyday two to three times. After a full week of calling her, she finally gave me a sloppy quote without coming to my place to see what the scope is. I had a tight schedule and made the worst mistake to pay them to do them the job. Ali, their subcontractor, damaged all of the stairs while removing the existing stairs and demanded more money. As I was deep into this mistake, I agreed. Then he installed all flooring and stairs wrong and ruined the whole floor and stairs. The stairs nosing fell off after 2 days and I noticed that it is sitting on a hollow space!!! The flooring moves when I walk on it. When I tried to explain it to Keit, such a horrible job Ali has done, she accused me that I am lying. I had to fight for days with BC floors and I still have not got my money back and I am left alone with a ruined material, flooring and stairs. I kept calling her and her boss, Nikita, and they totally ignore my calls and do not answer me. I have never experienced such horrible service and customer service.
