During our Dallas trip, we ate at a couple of highly rated restaurants. One of them was Michelin recommended. The other one was considered one of the 17 best in the city. But I tell you it's a place like this that deserves a Michelin star. Where from Houston, so we know great Vietnamese food. And this is in fact, one of the best bahn mis we've ever had. But the reason why I think this guys are worthy of Michelin recognition, is not because it's the best bahn mi in the world, but because of their commitment as a family to their craft. This shop has been around for years and I was finally able to visit. It's in a shopping Ctr very easy to miss if you don't know what you're looking for. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Great big smile very cheerful and helpful. The menu is small and consistent. I asked for the top 2 best sellers. Sandwiches are 5.00 and HUGE. Well made and good quality fresh ingredients. The French bread was flaky and pillowy. The veggies were crisp and had good distinct flavors. All sandwiches are dressed the same. #2 combination has pâté, butter and head cheese. This was my fav. It all just worked. A great bite 9/10. #5 grilled pork was good but a bit too sweet for my taste. We are visiting from the Bay Area. Our sister recently moved to Dallas and was in search of a good banh mi sandwich. We found this through YouTube. We are so happy we found it! The sandwiches are delicious, fresh Ingridents, and the bread is everything. Crunchy and soft French bread. We got the combo and grilled pork banh mi. Each is $5. What a great deal!!! The sugarcane drink was made with fresh sugarcane. Loved it! They make everything in house and fresh daily. Friendly owners and made all of our sandwiches really fast! I don't frequent this part of town as much, so it's been awhile since my last visit. Recently, had to stop to get my bahn mi fixing. Good to see that that they offer the buy 5 get 1 free deal. Overall, the store was clean and very simple. The menu is just some pictures of their bahn mi, but no price or description in English. Also notice my receipt after I got home that they charge extra for using credit card. I don't mind the fee, but it really needed to be posted or at least verbally tell the customer prior. Otherwise, the bahn mi was good as last time. As it's only my son and I that like bahn mi in our family, it took us 2 days to finish eating all 6 of them. One tip to heat them up is to microwave it for about 30 seconds then to toast them about 5 min to give that perfect crunchy toast on the outside while the veggies stay crisp. Overall, I still think it's a good place to go if you're craving for bahn mi. The star deduction is more for the lack of transparency in doing businesss, such as no English description, no price, and not disclosing to charge extra for using credit card. read more

Still the best place to get traditional Viet style subs that aren't whitewashed. They don't put greasy mayonnaise in the grilled pork sandwiches and they don't oil up their bread. It's just disturbing to see the grease stains on the sandwhich wraps at other places. Here, none of that crap. They don't need cover up their blandness with grease or load up the salt. Also even though prices has gone up, and sandwiches here are still reasonable, 5 each and still have the buy 5, get 1 free so 6 comes up to little less than 4.75 each and the sandwiches are longer than the other places that charge 6 bucks! Trust me, go to the Viet sandwich shops that other Viet people frequent, unless you want overpriced greasy oily sandwiches...might as well go to McDonald's then. read more

Honestly did not expect this place to be that good but the owners are super nice and its a small and close by shop for banh mi! There was not too much meat on the inside of the sandwhich but again it was only 3 dollars each! Also buy 5 get 1 free deal! I got 5 plus 1 free grilled pork and it was good! I got veggies on the side so i could go home and toast it for a minute to make the bread extra crispy before adding the cold pickled veggies. He gave a lot of the pickled raddish and carrots which i love which was great! I would definitely go again if I am too lazy to drive to garland for my favoirte banh mi place there. One of the few places in the area (not including Arlington) that has decent banh mi. The guy is pretty friendly too--that's rare at any Asian restaurant/shops nowadays.
