I was in desperate need of a haircut and saw some recommendations for Jessica at Bangz, so I decided to give her a try. I have very long, thick hair that I was looking to layer up quite a bit, so it definitely wasn't a simple cut. However, I looked at her Instagram and was a fan of her work. When I got to the salon, I was impressed with how chic it was - very cute decorations and overall a fun environment. Jessica and I clicked immediately. Yesterday, I went with my two daughters to Bangz Salon, in Melbourne. The plan was for all three of us to get our hair cut, and my youngest went first. Her stylist was named Alex, and throughout the session I noticed my daughter frowning, but she kept quiet. After Alex finished cutting my daughter's hair, it was puffy, frizzy and greasy even after he blow dried it. Alex's work is amateurish, he didn't fully untangle my daughter's hair before proceeding with her haircut, and he left it damp after he supposedly blow dried it. I was not happy with it, and I did not want him cutting mine or my other daughter's hair so I made an excuse to leave. After we got home, my daughter begins to tell me that as Alex was washing her hair, he was engaged in adult conversations with a female employee regarding a romantic encounter he had previous night, where he showed up to his date's place with a bottle of wine. My daughter told me that she was upset because Alex was very rough with her hair and he was burning her as he blow dried it. Alex needs to be mindful of the conversations he has in front of minors. Needless to say, I will NEVER go to Bangz again. I paid and tipped him because it was the right thing to do; however, I feel needs much more training before he is allowed to do anyone else's hair. read more

Your adventure in Bangz starts outside the Salon. The building is beautiful and there has clearly been so much attention paid to many little details. They're always adding something new: some little living eye-candy of a succulent or an awesome new custom shelf. It's always fun to see what has changed since I was last there. I love the atmosphere at Bangz. It's brightly lit, filled with beautiful, custom metal-worked industrial stations for the stylists. The music is good and there are plenty of fun people to talk with and magazines to get ideas from. There are shelves and shelves of any hair product that you might want. If you want to just try a particular something, there is probably an open one somewhere that could be used for you to try. Should you have to wait for your stylist, there is even a Kuerig coffee and tea maker with different selections and my favorite-filtered water! The restrooms are also decorated lovingly and are clean-always a plus in my book. At Bangz, you will find some of the most experienced Hairdressers and Stylists in Brevard County. I have been coming for cuts for a few years now, however, my Mom has been with her Stylist at Bangz for over twenty years easily! If you're looking for color, cut, curls or just help with a hair "problem"; anything to do with hair--I would not hesitate to recommend that you come to Bangz and talk with...anyone! I wanted a new look a few months ago (my hair was long and blah) I had a few pictures on my phone of things I found online that I liked, so I showed them to a Stylist and she gave me the exact cut that I wanted and even expertly added highlights to, ahem, lighten my grays. If you want something specific, just be specific. If you aren't sure and want to leave it up to one of the experts, you can do that too! I had the worst experience of my life at Bangz called in for an appointment and was given the stylist's name of sal wow what a mistake I'm going to show you my before and after pictures and see if you think I have the style that I asked for horrible service and when I called him about it he told me to do it I had to do and hung up on me so I'm doing what I have to do beware don't take a stylist that you're not familiar with worst customer service I've ever had. Please see the pictures in my next comments...I was told there was no owner to talk to that when you go there basically you're on the your own with the person that does your hair I never heard of that somebody should be responsible for the people that work there in that building but I guess that's not the case at bangz. There are too many salons in this area to be treated this way I also have a picture of sal taking a nap while my hair was processing but I'm not going to enclose that shame on him he needs to retire and I'm not being mean because I'm older than he is. I rarely write reviews unless it's superb or terrible. I've been to Bangz a few times and have gotten great results. I was excited about their new location, as it was so much closer to my home. My favorite hairstylist, Brittany Carter, is always booked, of course, and her prices went up! Although, I would have paid for her to do my hair, she's great. I went to Melissa Dye instead for an overdue haircut. I only get a minimal off the ends but get more throughout the hair with layers, and when I asked for only an inch off the ends, not only did I get attitude about it, she decided she wasn't going to cut in any layers throughout the hair. When finished, she patronizingly patted me on both sides of my arms and said, "Well, there's your little haircut". I left paying with the way it was (with a 20% tip) because I was in a hurry. I later texted her to give her a chance to make it right. I gave her the benefit of doubt and thought maybe she misunderstood me. I never heard back from her. I ended up having to pay someone else to cut my hair the way I wanted it, and she did my balayage highlights beautifully for a reasonable price. Blessing in disguise, really. I've never felt so disrespected. I won't be going back. read more
