I stopped in on Thursday to inquire about blending my gray grow out and a cut. The lady that helped…read moreme took my number and said she had the perfect lady. I received a text from someone offering different appt options. I chose Saturday at 1:30. I had long low mid back length. I've been growing my gray for 6 months and needed blending and had saved several collar bone/long lop/bob styles that I wanted. I was so excited. I took before pics in the car. Arrived early, showed the stylist what I wanted, explained thoroughly. She went to cutting. Kept saying she was giving me a precision cut and layers. Said the way she did it was a process. Cutting length first, then long layers, etc. when she made the first "layer cut" I asked then as I didn't understand. She told me to just wait. She kept cutting. Another lady came and she dusted me off and took off my cape. I said oh no! It's not stacked and layered correctly. I said it's too full here and she grabbed the cape and just started cutting length. Not in sections just cutting. She said let me grab her and we can cut more. I went to my car to wait and got my first glimpse. Mind you I have wavy hair and she dry cut me. It looks frizzy due to my texture (NOT DAMAGED) because she used a comb while dry cutting. Think brushing curls. It poofs and frizzes. I immediately cried in my car and took pics. Waited for the lady she was servicing to come out and went back in and asked how much for the cut. She told me $55 for cut color and style. I asked how much for the cut only. She said $35. During I was tearing up and she asked what was wrong. I said it isn't what I asked for and it was chopped and gapped and overall shocking. She said coke sit back down and she'd fix it. I declined. I left my cash in her station and left in tears. It was/ is so short I was afraid of what I'd have left had I sat back down. I have cried all weekend. I came home and washed it to see what I was dealing with. Due to the length and chops and whacks and gaps, I cannot style it. (See pics below). The following business day (today Tuesday) I stopped back by to speak with the lady "who had the perfect lady", I walked in and someone different was in her spot. Then the stylist who butchered me walked out. She said she had a feeling I'd come back. I explained I was there looking to speak with the owner. She informed me she had the right to refuse service. I stated I wasn't there for service I was there to show her what she referred me to and the disaster. She had the audacity to insinuate my hair looked shorter than when I left!!!!! I lost it. She refunded me and told me had I sat back down, on Saturday, that she could have fixed it. THERE IS NO FIXING IT unless I go shorter. I have two different cuts on the left and right. I have gaps and chunks missing in the back. Idk what in the world. I have sat home crying over the weekend at the worst chop job and this woman actually started to act like I had gone somewhere else. I have time stamped photos in the parking lot of immediately after! I have 30 min after that of freshly washed time stamped. I have time stamped photos of when that dried and I was sending my bff hysterical. I cannot believe the audacity! Not only do I NOT RECOMMEND THIS SALON, I will be reporting her to the state board. I swear I have NEVER!

We live in a sleepy little beachside community - some people refer to it as Mel-boring. We love living here, but fully admit our style can get a bit small town and boring! My cut has always been a bob, and recently I began highlighting it to hide the gray, but I just wasn't happy. The cut felt heavy around my face, and the highlights were looking too platinum and not like my natural color. THEN I FOUND MEGAN! She's a hometown girl, but she went to the big city and learned all the best and latest techniques while she ran her own salon in Atlanta. She's come back and is injecting contemporary looks into this quiet, sleepy community. She gave me a modern version of the bob, cutting away all the weight that was dragging me down, and she added color that gave me back my natural blonde look! My husband said it was the best look I've had since he married me 25 years ago, and he thinks the cut makes me look years younger! Megan is a true pro, so much fun, and can transform your look to be sooo modern and up-to-date!!! Since my cut, she's transformed my teenage son, as well as my adult daughter. My husband and mother are on her calendar!!! She's absolutely just what this sleepy little community needed to bring all of up-to-date and in style! read more

Salon Riverside is lucky to have Megan Timm. I've been going to Megan for almost 15 years... Since her first days after hair school. Now that I live in WA, I only have the pleasure of getting her awesome cuts and colors when I visit family in FL, although I've been tempted many times to fly to FL just to get her hands on my hair, she's that good!! She does the best texturing for my thick hair, making it easy to style. And even during the years when I box dyed my hair blond (gasp!), Megan was able to fix it back to a natural sun kissed blonde. It doesn't hurt that she's easy to talk to and down to earth, making time spent in her chair like time spent with a girlfriend you've known for years. read more

I read many great reviews about Megan and decided to give her a try. I have hunted for over a year for someone and I am very excited to say the great reviews were right on!! She is patient, listens to you about your hair concerns, likes, dislikes and skill level of doing your own hair. I cannot say enough good things about her as a hair stylist. But she is also a fun, good energy, confident person who you can tell, loves her job and people. I smiled all day when I left after having my hair done and even my husband said his favorite part of my hair was the smile it put on my face. So go give Megan a try, you will not be disappointed. read more

Everyone knows that when you have to move to a new location that finding a new hairdresser is probably one of the most painful processes ever! I went to a hairdresser when I first moved here and she completely ruined my hair! I found Megan and I am sooo thankful that I did! She is by far the most wonderful hairdresser...EVER! I'm a complete novice when it comes to hair, and after procrastinating for years I finally was set on getting a balayage done, and Gretchen worked WONDERS. I had the best hair transformation in one visit! Jana did an amazing job and it left me speechless. I went in with copper, mixed dye, dead ends; just a mess of a head of hair and she completely made it head turning. I was blown away by what she was able to do with my hair in one visit. Very beautiful balayage coloring and a healthy cut while still keeping my length. Saying this is exactly what I wanted is to say the least. She's pretty much a mind reader. The stylist said that she was able to get me in the day before she went on vacation. The day before the appointment she messaged me &let me know that she was cleaning & felt like overdid it while cleaning & had to cancel my next-day appointment because she had broken a rib 2 months prior. I was SUPER DISAPPOINTED, but hey it happens. 2nd time: six months later. I decided to try this stylist again. I messaged her to see if she would be available the next day for a cut & color. She told me yes that she had a 9am slot open & asked me what I wanted to do. I responded & included photos. I didn't get a response from her but assumed that we had an appointment. I woke up the next day, got dressed & drove across town to be at this 9:00am appointment. She never showed & at 9:15am another stylist decided to text her personal phone to let her know that I was there. I finally received a response that her phone didn't receive any of my messages until right then & that she was sorry but she wouldn't be able to take me. This might have been a miscommunication, but I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED & this time humiliated because I had to walk out without any service after sitting there for 20min while the other women were using their reliable stylists. Getting ready when you have an appointment takes work! No one wants to be late so they get everything done early enough to be somewhere on time. It's a mutual respect for both parties to be on time at the appointment & communicate of unable to make it. I got ready for nothing. I am someone who has to research before making an appointment with a new stylist. I want to see their work. I don't want to walk out with a crazy cut & color. If it's bad work then it's throwing money away. So when a stylist cancels on me twice then it's a waste of so much of my time & energy. This stylist might rent her chair, but she represents the salon. I recommend finding a different salon where they don't allow their stylists to play these games with their customers and where reliability & quick response time is a priority.
