Another hidden gem. I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new stylist. I was in the store and saw they had a salon. I peeked in to check the vibe. I met Trisha a stylist who was there as soon as l walked in. We chatted for a few minutes, the vibe was right and l made my appointment on the spot for the next week. I went and it was a very nice experience. I am extremely happy with my experience and especially happy with my new stylist Miss Trisha. I think l have been a return customer about 4 times now and l will be back. I highly recommend this salon, all the stylist take pride in their work and just environment alone is very pleasant. And all of the customers seem to be very pleasant. My appoint is always confirmed by email, text or both. This is a system that definitely works for me. read more

I had my first of many hair appointments with Master Designer stylist Tricia! Tricia is UH-MAZING! I've been in the area over four years and have been to over 15 stylists and either they took over three hours (to wash/condition and curl my hair) or they were late to appointments or they would do multiple people at one time or they used cold water to wash my hair or their technique was antiquated or the salon itself was outdated. I have two products that m-u-s-t be used on my hair for it to look professionally styled and Tricia was amenable to them AND had them on hand! Now, the chair Tricia uses is like h-e-a-v-e-n, it is ssssuper soft and comfortable number one and number two she used ear covers while I was underneath the dryer-terrific! And she had the rubber neck support on the wash bowl which supported my neck (which was injured years ago). Tricia is uber efficient, meticulous, knowledgeable, current with styling trends and is personable. My. hair. looks. fabulous!!!!! read more

Melinda is the best hair stylist I've ever had. She adds volume to my fine hair without making the mistake of over layering. she is highly skilled and takes her time. This is an extremely hard review to write because most of the stylist are amazing at JCPenney Salon Melbourne Square Mall and super friendly. The reception staff is not very professional. When arriving to have a consult they never gave eye contact nor did they look up at all from the computer/appt schedule. Previous to this day I called several times through the day for a week and a half and nobody answered the phone and I quickly learned that the one receptionist in particular likes to wander and socialize rather than do her job, I believe her name was Lativia. My Sister had her hair done that day with Kamar who was beyond amazing but the receptionist named Stacey waved us off and said she's in the back and never walked us back. I loved the stylist and been here before so I made my appt for the next day. Among many things the lights went out in the station and stock room and people were hanging out with friends and not attending to the front. When I said I had an appt and gave my name the following day, I was again told you know where your stylist is and I walked back to where she was with my Sister but she was with another client. My appt went late as it was a triple process so my stylist asked the reception girl to ring me out but she thought it would be best to take a long break 30 mins before she left and left the money bag visible at front desk without telling anyone. I come from New York and I never seen a salon anywhere up there that didn't have their own shampoo girl and the receptionist should be sweeping hair when a stylist is busy. I don't know who trained them but they apparently revert back to unprofessional children when management isn't there. It's a shame because they have great stylist there but I'm afraid they will end up leaving eventually. The only reason I gave 1 star is because Yelp won't allow for negative -10 stars. OMG where do I start? So from the beginning this journey of getting a single process/cut and blow was a nightmare. I called this salon for 2 weeks straight at all different hours and days and wasn't able to get through because the phone kept ringing and ringing and no one ever picked up. I was referred by my sister to see a particular Color Specialist in the JC Penny salon otherwise I wouldn't have attempted to touch JC Penny with a 10 foot pole. Anyway, in order to achieve getting a scheduled appointment I had to physically drive there which is what I ended up doing. Upon arrival I was greeted or NOT greeted by "Stacy" and "Latevia" at the front desk whom I noticed didn't even have the ringer ON because the entire time I was there, I didn't hear it ring even once. The 15 minutes it took to book 1 appointment because no one on the front line even knew my stylist's (Kamar) schedule. It was like pulling teeth trying to stop myself from jumping behind the desk and making my appointment myself. I arrived the following day to the same unprofessional environment. I was asked whom I was there to see and when I told them, instead of walking me to where my stylists workstation or the waiting area I was told "You know where she at, right?"By the way, this was my first time and so I DID NOT KNOW which station she worked at and was left to wonder around the salon looking for her. Kamar is an EXCELLENT color specialist and stylist and so I can say I will follow her anywhere now that she has done my hair but in my opinion, she is way too talented to be wasting her time at JC Penny salon where her hands of gold are not appreciated. The following day I went with my sister to get her hair triple processed and what I thought was bad about the salon the day before was amplified by a 100 the next day. Same treatment at front desk, we were waived off again and left to wonder around salon looking for our stylist. Just a note, I ran a salon in NY and so I'm well aware of the level of professionalism or lack there of that left a lot to be desired. I have never been to a salon small or large that did not have any assistants or shampoo girls to aid the stylists in creating a more conducive schedule. Kamar was left to wash mine and my sisters hair, sweep the floor, TAKE PAYMENT, clean and basically do everything else that the front line failed to do because they were too busy walking around and socializing, taking 1/2 breaks a 1/2 hour before they were scheduled to leave. They then took it to the next level by yelling across the salon to their friends, at the other stylists and then at me saying "Someone else need to take yo' money cuz I'm out". Ugh, it took every ounce of strength for me not to fling a hair dryer at that obnoxious, lazy, rude and trifling poor excuse of Customer Service Rep which is basically what a receptionist is. I will be going back but ONLY because Kamaria is an absolute magic maker when it comes to hair but thumbs ALL THE WAY DOWN to JC PENNY for expressing their horrible judgement in the type of people they hire because I can only imagine how much business is being lost as a result of the actions of just a few horrible employees. Oh yeah and by the way, because my stylist had to do everything by herself, we ran overtime and were actually locked in JC Penny because they closed with us still inside. The floor manager escorted us out and asked us why the reception didn't call over to let her know we were ready to leave and we told her the receptionist left 2 hours prior to the closing of the salon therefore she didn't bother relaying that message to us or to our stylist. read more
