I absolutely love Blo. The first time I ever heard of it, I was instantly intrigued by it. A hair…read moresalon that only does blow drying? No cuts, no color? I had to see it for myself. Stepping into their salon was already a sweet treat. Playing with whites and pinks, I was sure this place screamed "GIRLY" on all sides. They also had an array of different hair brands and products, some of which I've never even heard of. They had hair irons, hair curlers, hair dryers - basically everything a hair princess wanna-be would be giddy to see. In the Blo menu, you can choose ala carte hair styles. From sleek straight locks to every girl's dream of a beach wave to gorge fishtail braids and vavavoom curls, Blo can do the job. For 500 pesos, you get the blowout you've always dreamed of! Isn't that sweet? Of course normal people like us can't spare 500 pesos for a blow dry everyday so I only go to Blo whenever there's an event I'm attending or if I'm feeling super duper particularly down. Which happens every other day. Kidding! But really, if I had the money, I'd probably be a Blo staple by now. It's just so addicting!

I explained I did not have hair of my own to bring and would need to purchase from them. she said ok and explained it was an additional charge. the day of my appointment I came into the salon. she showed me the hair and it was blonde !!!!!!! my hair is black -_- I told her it clearly doesn't match she said oh this is the only hair we have left .. and I explained I came all the way out here for extensions why wouldn't they have asked me what color hair I needed ?? and her response was "sorry man I guess she thought you were blonde" what kind of response is that ?! how can you tell what color someone's hair is over the phone. on top of that as a professional facility shouldn't they have other colors to color match correctly anyways ?! I asked her if there was a store in the mall or somewhere else I could buy hair from and bring it. she said no -_- she didn't even try to google a place for me or anything. I was even more frustrated by the fact that she wasn't phased by me being upset and leaving. poor customer service. don't come here!!!!

I couldn't believe. I thought it was hilarious that this was all happening at the same time and had my doubts. Was totally impressed with the service and quality of work. My haircut was def what I wanted, hands and feet in great manicured shape, all this for about 1100 pesos (about $22)!!! I was in and out in 1 hour, no lie. This is the most efficient groom service I've experienced ever, best grooming regimen in any barber or salon ever. They do shaves/massages the classic way too. You must come here to check it out. Verdict: Oh hell yes I'm coming back. Visits: 1 Tip: Cash only. This location is in the Mall of Asia, MOA. It gets super busy in here and there's a wait if you don't have an appt. While you do this, your girl/ significant other can go to I think there are 2 salons next door; she can take her pick. Tip your barber or manicurist 100 pesos, about $2 before you leave.

A Japanese based beauty shop in SM Mall of Asia in the S Maison mall section. I had a hard time…read morelooking for this shop cuz it's so hidden to me in the mall and asking guards around didn't even know of this shop?! This S Maison section is in the high end of the mall. They are actually new a year ago in this shop. Their other shop in Taguig was where I wanted to go but they are under construction and they were there for three years. There are many asians when I came to this shop so I thought it must be good. They do nails, hair and other things besides lashes. I am only reviewing based on my lashes. They didn't have a time slot to do my nails. Came to this chain based on a recommendation from a friend of a friend in the states for how they put their lashes and glue they used but I believe the staff is new here or they have staff who only does certain things so every question I had, they had to ask. Stephanie was really friendly and nice, and did a good job on my lashes but she was slow to me. My lash beautician in the states only takes less than hour for more lashes put on. Stephanie should have made suggestions for me based on what I liked for full lashes verses what I wanted to start with. They go by how many lashes I wanted?? How was I supposed to know how many lashes I use?? I just wanted a full natural lash look based on the picture she showed me! I thought 100 lashes was enough (50 each eye) but I was wrong so I asked to add 40 more (20 each eye). It still wasn't enough. I was there for two hours that I fell asleep! I wanted to ask for 40 more but that would take more time! By this time, I was irritated, I wanted to go already since this took so much time. I really wished she knew how many I needed. If I need lashes, I would still come back as I like the glue they use (Korea brand) but my stylist in US said their is an ingredient that causes cancer. Stephanie showed me the glue pkg and it says made in Korea (I took a pic). By the time I come back here, the ladies will know what to suggest....I hope! I always need more lashes due to all the swim activities I do here in the Philippines. At least, I know now for next time that 180- 200 lashes maybe needed for a full natural look on me. Make sure you know how many lashes you need before going here as they don't make suggestions for you. Also, you have to have the time to spend here. I think this is a decent place as well for the prices for this area. They just need to speed up the time! [129/100]

They only…read morehave about 6 or 7 polishes to choose from, because apparently they do more gel services. First of all - they don't take out ingrown toenails. Which is the main reason I get pedicures. (Which is why I opted to get regular polish vs gel on my toes). I noticed the girl didn't use a base coat before applying the polish. I let it go, not a big deal. she took her time pushing my cuticles back, but made my ingrown itch more LOL- I ignored it. When it came to the manicure, she completed cleaning the one hand then asked if it would be okay to use a dremmel for the second hand. I told her no, as it would feel weird because she had taken her time to push the cuticles on one hand. I asked for a matte finish black with some jewel art. I'm pretty sure she was a beginner/ new because she was limited on her nail art skills.- 30 minutes after I had left I noticed jewels had come lose. she did not put enough gel top coat to seal the jewels in. My cousins said the reason the jewels were coming off was because I asked for matte finish. which doesn't make sense. 3 stars for cleanliness of the area and good air conditioning. Suggest requesting a 'senior' nail tech.

This is why cheapskate me has been having haircuts in dodgy "parlors" here in the South. Well, so I tried getting a 50 peso haircut at another high-end looking salon that came with a bit of "ambience". Well it turned out horrible as the stylist couldn't even cut straight! Well, I obviously got what I paid for, I know! So, naturally I would find someone else who can fix my hair so I stopped by at Nilo's Cut Salon, who offers Php 100 haircuts for a trim with no shampoo (Php 180 with shampoo). Nilo has made a name for himself here in Better Living, and I believe he has a long list of 'suki's' already. I had no idea what the hair cut I wanted was called, so I fished out a photo from Pinterest (Haha!) and showed him a photo of this Parisian girl with a blunt cut. Nilo says "Ah, square bob". Okay, great! Nilo cuts hair effortlessly, and his hands are light and gentle, unlike some stylists whose hands and movements are a bit on the rough side. Nilo works through your hair with a feathery touch. Ten minutes later, my cut is done, and is the correct length I wanted! He also fixed my fringe as well (About my fringe, I only let stylists who I can trust to cut my fringe. Let's just say it's a precaution for ending up with another tragedy called 'baby bangs'). His assistant then proceeds to blow dry my hair after the cut, and after a few minutes, he goes "Para ka nang chandelier" (You look like a chandelier). "Chandelier? Huh...?" Then he says "The music video". If you know me, I am perpetually out of touch with pop music. If you're wondering what my haircut looked like after, search Chandelier by Sia on Youtube and spot the blonde Maddie Ziegler! So, except for the hair, I look nothing like that Parisian girl on the photo I brought, but I am very pleased with Nilo's quick service and expertise.
