I was holding off on writing this review in hopes that the issue would be resolved, but it hasn't been and I'm being denied a $158 refund for a very painful experience. If I could give zero stars I absolutely would! I made an appointment for a Saturday morning I brought in photos and had previously sent them via FB messenger, she assured me she could do both the color and the cut. We started with the color, now I came in with pastel pink hair I wanted peach and lilac added to it to make it more Spring. She started with adding dark purple to my regrowth which bled into the pastel pink creating a muddy burgundy. She attempted to tone it out, which I didn't understand but I digress, then applied the peach. The peach didn't take at all, when she showed me the results I told her I didn't like it and it looked nothing like the photo, so she said we would try again. She then proceeded to attempt to strip my hair, applied dark grey to my roots this time, and attempted the peach again. As you can imagine the results were even worse the second time around. At this point I had been there for 4 hours, it took me 45 minutes to drive out from Grand Island and it was another 45 minutes back. So I said let's just move on to the cut, she assured me again she could do the cut. My hair coming in was a little past my shoulders, I told her I wanted an asymmetrical lob, chin length on the left above the shoulder on the right. She started in the back and took a good 10-12 inches off the back of my head to start, she cut to my ear on the left and my chin on the right. At one point I told her if she cut any more of my hair off I was going to cry. She then proceeded to use texture sheers (wide tooth comb sheers) and lop off chunks of my hair, she left a huge horseshoe-shaped gap in the middle of the back of my head, along with uneven choppy layers that were cut straight across. The back of my head looks like a weed wacker was taken to it, it's absolutely awful. I was hesitant to pay but I didn't want to get her in trouble with her superiors. She knew without a doubt I hated it before I left she said: "You look like you're going to cry, I know you're going to cry". She was absolutely right, I went to my car called my husband and sobbed for 20 minutes before driving home. I cried for the next 3 days, it may sound excessive to some but I felt incredibly ugly and as someone who went to school for hair, I take great pride in my hair and what it looks like. Thankfully I was able to get another stylist (NOT FROM BANGS!) to make an emergency house call the next day. She was able to fix the color but the cut was too far gone unless I went pixie, which is funny because before the cut we were discussing how much I hated pixies. It cost me another $100 for the fix, on top of that it now takes me 45 mins to make this cut look decent. I have to do a full blow out and use at least 5 products to make it look decent, that wasn't my goal at all with the cut I wanted. My husband called Bangs the next day (Sun) and spoke with a manager. He was told that they don't do cash refunds it's against company policy, also refunds aren't given unless they have a chance to fix it themselves, they also don't give out corporates number but forward your info to them instead and they will call you. Well, corporate never bothered to contact us so we did some digging and found the head regional salon for Bangs. They also told us the same spiel and denied us a refund. We called every single Bangs in the area and all of them denied us the number for corporate. At this point, we are willing to take this to small claims court. My hair is ruined, it will take at least a year and 1/2 to look somewhat decent, and honestly the emotional toll this has all taken on me has been rough. I originally wanted my hair done because we had a death in the family and I wanted to look nice, instead of the low bun, for when we had to sit Shiva. So this incident combined with everything else was beyond stressful and also the fiancial toll, $258 is nothing to scoff at. This has been a very painful experience and everyone involved has been extremely unprofessional. I have yet to even receieve an apology from stylist who ruined my hair. Also as a stylist you should know your limitations, the fact that I was reassured over and over that she could do it when in fact she had no idea. There was another stylist looking on that could have intervened but choose not to correct her work. I will NEVER step foot in this salon again, I love supporting my friends but I feel so burned from this. This review will be going on every single social media platform that this Bangs location has as well. Please proceed with caution if you are going to get your hair done here. Beware of all the extra charges they don't tell you about as they do your hair. It cost me MORE for a PARTIAL at this salon than a full would have been at my real salon. She charged me $33.95 extra to "cut and blowdry" my hair as I told her I really don't want it cut as I'm trying to grow it out and said "I'll just barely trim the ends" and as she started to blow dry said "oh wait...did you want me to address your layers?" If I knew I was paying $34 extra after paying so much for a "partial" and being charged for 3 extra toners (which are usually used when they over process your hair - since it definitely shouldn't be more color as my hair is barely shoulder length) I would have made sure i left looking much better than I did. This place is always so accommodating to a busy schedule. I never have a problem getting in without waiting forever. I go for simple washes and hair cuts as I've never colored my hair before however I have never been disappointed with my styles. I've been coming here for 2-3 years now. Every girl or guy I've ever sat with has always been friendly and easy to converse with. Prices are very reasonable and you still get a quality style. I can always rely on bangs to make me feel fresh and pretty. They always have new fun products to try out and to purchase.
