Visited my mother and she offered to grab lunch. She said she has been wanting to try this…read morerestaurant so we went. Upon arrival, the place was empty, except for staff, so we were seated immediately. The interior is decorated with Mexican art and items while Mexican music plays in the background. Complimentary chips and salsa were served, which I ate most of. Our orders were taken and drinks quickly brought to the table. My mother ordered the Fajitas Norte Sur which included steak, chicken, shrimp, chorizo, peppers and onions with sides of guacamole, sour cream, pico de Gallo, rice and beans. Unfortunately, I was not able to get a picture of my mother's dish but the proteins arrived on a sizzling cast iron pan and the rest came on a second plate. I ordered the Carnitas Burrito which was served over a tomatillo sauce with a side of rice and beans. My mother ate all of the protein including the guacamole and I even commented to her that I didn't think she was going to be able to eat as much as she did (Good Job, Mom!). I ate everything on my plate and ended up consuming my mother's refried beans. Once the food was served I asked for "salsa picante" aka hot sauce. They offered a bottled version but I requested their house made version. My wish was granted and it had a good amount of heat...I used more of it than my mother because I LOVE spiciness. It was not what I have traditionally been used to. While it had good heat and earthiness, it was runny and not as condensed as I would've preferred. I almost finished all of the portion they brought though. I sat there trying to analyze their combinations of ingredients for that sauce and still don't have a concrete formula for what I thought it was and I didn't ask what it was comprised of either. My mother thought service was good, which I will not deny, but I will admit I was not offered a refill on my glass of water. I'm a stickler for that since I consume a lot of water. Either way she tipped them at 30ish%, and probably because she is paying forward to her nationality. Either way, I'd return. Even looking over the menu, I took extra time to make a choice as there were a few options that I wanted to try. I don't live nearby but maybe another time I visit my mother we can return.

I'm over the moon to have had the opportunity to have a delicious tea lunch at the green house tea…read moreroom during my summer visit to Bethlehem. The Green House is Bethlehem's first tea house, and is situated in south Bethlehem's mansion district in a historic home that was owned by the Green family. The interior is ornately decorated, with the entire home being themed around the year 1905, in which the home was built. There are a total of three rooms you can dine in: the green room, the magnolia room, and the empire room. Each room has a special theme and a unique vibe. The food is even themed around the room itself. The service in particular was top notch. Our server was present, conversational, and thoughtful. She was there to answer questions, make suggestions, and tailor your tastes to match your interests. The peak of the experience was when the owner Rick came by our table to visit us personally, in which he shared some really amazing stories about the home and this wonderful spot. I'd really love to come back and try the other rooms. My only down point was the price. While I expected to pay more than usual, the bill came out shockingly high.

We each had the $60 afternoon tea service, which included 4 types of mini sandwiches (cucumber, curried egg salad, ham, and salmon), lemon poppy scones, chocolate covered strawberries, vanilla macaroons, pound cake, key lime cheesecake, and goat cheese stuffed dates. Each one came with a bottomless pot of tea. Everything was delicious, there wasn't one thing our group disliked. For an additional price, you can add on a soup and/or salad. The salad was a nice house salad with an orange vinaigrette, and the soup was a vegetation Greek lemon couscous with coconut base that was delicious! The owner, Rick, came to the table and spoke about the space and what inspired him to open it. A really great guy who is passionate about what he does. Service was amazing as was the food, only gripe would be the price point; for the price of $60 a person with gratuity included I think a soup or salad should be included as the food is rather light. It might scare some potential customers away. Overall a wonderful experience for a special occasion! Will definitely be back. I think this spot will be very successful, especially with some social media advertising!
