Banff Shawarma. This is what I needed. I don't eat this stuff at home. My coworkers aren't adventurous enough to try it at the many places near work. I had to drive 1600 miles on vacation to get this. We went to this food court in the Cascade Shops twice. I decided that I needed a shawarma twice. I liked it. Not because they are halal. I liked it because it was good. It was like a giant burrito filled with marinated meat with a little lettuce and tomato. The garlic sauce they put on it made it taste even better. Banff is a tourist town. I thought this was the best thing I've had to eat in town. It was also comparably affordable. Decent flavor and great portion size. The service can be slow in the food court but there's plenty of seating and everyone can grab something they like. It's a no-frills, good spot in a town with bland food. You're better off saving your calories for sweets in this town and grabbing something here. read more

I was shocked the clerk poured lots of garlic sauce and sweet sauce over my dish. Like a pool of sauce. Once I had those meats, I understood the seasoning for all meats and the rice were quite mild. So they covered it by pouring the souses. That's sad. Overall, I would say I was satisfied with the service and food volume/quality. There are lots of tables with free wifi. After a long day of walking and desperate to find for somewhere to eat, we were so delighted to find Halal restaurant. The host was incredibly gracious and offered us multiple options, to which we were delighted to try. We tried the combination beef and chicken plate, large beef and chicken wrap, chicken poutine, and samosas. They were all excellent. We're so happy to find a Halal establishment here in Banff. We would definitely recommend it and come back multiple times. read more

Located in the mall, Banff Shawarma has a small stand in the food court downstairs. We had the donair (beef, lettuce, tomato, turnips, feta, pickles) with sweet sauce and hot sauce. I expected the pita to be thicker - it was quite thin so the donair kept falling apart. But that could also be because the entire thing is grilled before serving. Apart from that, the flavors were fine and the beef was tasty. The hot sauce is similar to a sweet and spicy chili sauce, which you get ask for on the side. The service is good. I ordered a large mixed shawarma with chicken and beef. The garlic sauce is ok, the chicken meat is ok, the beef though-can't really taste the beef there. With the veggies, the turnips are weird looking much weirder when it hits your palate. The only thing i like about this is the crisp shawarma bread. Will i try it again? By far the best shawarma I had. This place is in inside cascade shops mall and is worth trying. We tried large falafel wrap and was really heavy stuffed with all veggies, falafel balls. They have spicy sauce which is amazing and different as I have never seen something with that taste before. Tahini, garlic sauce gives nice juicy taste. So the shawarma was good, and the best part is that this place claims to be halal. The food is good and the service is pretty prompt although this place does get to be a little busy because many people are looking for Halal food in a town where this is probably the only place that has any. It's connected to the inside of mall but it also has Street access which made it really convenient to find. I got the combo doner and my husband got the combo as well we both enjoyed it and really like the garlic sauce as well. I think I would definitely be back another time! read more

A true hidden gem of Banff, a must try if your hungry for a light snack or a gut buster. It is definitely one of those places you don't take a second look at because it's not on the beaten path or Main Street of Banff, but WOW itis good, I would dare to say one of the best Donaire's in Canada and I have tried 70% of the major city's "so called best Donaire's" Do not pass this place up you will not regret it don't let looks deceive you everything is freshly made with there own recipes right down to the wraps. read more
